Is it me or does Ezio look....well, entirely different from before? Maybe they got a different guy to do the motion capture.

Anyway, am I the only one excited for this?

When I watched this on the E3 live stream I honestly got the shivers, although it was very cold at the time. Absolutely brilliant and can't wait for it's release. And Ezio is bound to look different, he's gotta be ancient by now (to still be jumpy/stabby/killy anyway)

Considering Ezio is now in his early 50's that's understandable. Besides, when you think about it we've never seen Ezio's full face in any cinematic trailer.

Ezio auditore da firenze is 53 years old in AC: Revelations
He is older, but he shouldn't look THIS different. It's not the gray in his beard or the wrinkles, it's his facial structure. That doesn't really change with age.

Just in case you haven't seen it yet:

OT: It's NOT just me who thought he looked NOTHING like Ezio Auditore? Thank god. Also, yeah what's up with that? Also, do you guys think that that's Masyaf?

i thought that we would surely get desmond by now!
btw, the situation in the trailer would never actually happen, seriously counter attacking owns everyone. also do you think that you'll be able to call assasin's to your side again?
the thing that buged me in brotherhood was that there wasnt enough enemies to have an all out epic battle -_-
CANT W8. THIS AND HALO 4
EDIT: oh wait in the gameplay demo there was an assasin helping you so yeah :)

Ezio does look a bit different but that's only because you're comparing cinematic Ezio to in-game Ezio. Yes, they obviously should look the same but as mentioned earlier, this was the first time we ever saw his face in a cinematic trailer.

Looking at the gameplay trailer, I find the level of detail in the town he's in to be most impressive. It definitely looks a lot more vibrant than in the previous games.

I really can't wait for this. Chalk up another special edition for me. 2011 is an awesome year for games: AC: Revelations, Dead Island, Skyrim, MW3, Gears 3. I'll be broke by the end of the year, especially if there are special editions going around.

I would sell every bodily organ that I could live without to get this game. Mind you, I hope they'll have sorted the enemy AI out by release. In Brotherhood it was perfect, but the few people Ezio is seen fighting here seem stupidly slow to attack.

Ezio has always looked very different in the cinematic trailers than he does in the actual game. I remember the first one from AC2 where he basically just looked exactly the same as Altair but with different clothes.

It's highly unrealistic that a 53 year old man could be this agile and the fact that he actually managed to employ feats of agility like the ones in the trailer after sustaining an arrow wound to the shoulder proves how little faith Ubisoft had in the character to begin with. They obviously want to milk him for what its worth, extending his story as much as possible. Look, I enjoyed what you did with the first game. Visiting locations most games never even give a chance was a welcomed change. However, you're no longer even trying to make the world unique. AC2 addressed a lot of the problems AC1 had but as it stands, you're no longer attempting to refine the formula. You're milking it.

I understand Ezio is a popular character and I understand Ubisoft never expected him to become the icon that he is today but by this point they're giving us to much time with him. They're not innovating at all and they're reusing the same mechanics they used in AC2 with very minimal changes. The Assassins Creed series, at least to me, was about innovation. As it stands, Ubisoft is not innovating, it's rehashing the same tired old shit.

I'm not saying this game will be bad but once you look at it from a different perspective you're just playing Assassins Creed 2 except now you get to visit a reskinned version of Rome. You also have to pay 60 dollars to do so.

It seems Ubisoft has run out of ideas on how to innovate with the series so they're just stalling now.

I had every intention of hating the game...
UNTIL THAT BEAUTIFUL TRAILER.
(I forgive Ubisoft way too easily :/)
The gameplay look solid, the environments are wonderfully dynamic and as long as there is a decent story to back it up, I'm sold. I just hope it doesn't end on a cliff hanger (which will most likely happen -_-)

I am getting a little tired of Ezio and would like to play someone else, but chances are I will end up buying this game.

I'm very excited. And I am glad to see Altair again... I sure have missed him.

The only think that irks me is the silly... flamethrower cannon? What the heck? I'm pretty sure they didn't have those in that time period, and I'm pretty sure they never did. Am I the only one that noticed that it was also made out of wood, at least the majority of it? Yes, it's really cool, but it doesn't make any sense.

Actually, looking back through AC II, it seems that they did set up for at least Brotherhood (based on all the stuff with the Borgias if you go back through the game). I agree that AC is a cash cow, but compared to most, it's a pretty damn fun one. If you want to go into innovation, well ACII was a pretty damn good game. I'm sure that they as a company figured, "It's not broke, don't fix it" (not to say that I encourage this line of thought, but Ubisoft is still a corp dependent on gamer dollars)

Either way, this is the last game with Ezio and then they are going to give us a new assassin in a different time period. No doubt they are working on several games at once so hopefully the engine for ACIII will be amazing. In the mean time, this game will at least give us some interesting (linking) plot updates and will tide hardcore fans over.

I love the look of this, and I can't wait for the conclusion of Ezio's story (though I may cry!)

No, definitely not Masyaf. Masyaf is in the mountains of Syria (or at least this fictional version, in real life Masyaf is nothing like what it is in the game although it is still in Syria. The real assassin fortress was actually in Alamut which is in Iran), this is likely somewhere in Jordan.

OT: Very excited for this game, as usual it looks great. This series has yet to disappoint me so it's at the top of my list.
