Light is a no, he has reasons and beleves he's right. You can do an entire debate on who was right and who was wrong in that series and desided to stay the heck away.

I see him more like a winey douchbag than an asshole. I just don't want hime on my list casue the Fan war i'd ether put him to low or to high and get bitched about it in comments. Well, as I just started watching anime before both of my computers broke, I haven't had the chance to really watch any more, but I did watch Death Note to the end.

I really liked Light for some weird reason, but looking at it objectively, he was absolutely an asshole.

I don't mean to be rude, but to consider yourself some arbiter of taste in anime makes you at best a pretentious arse. Evangelion was good, but too full of itself, and too filled to the brim with pseudo-psychological crap to be really good. Gendou was an ass, but not the biggest one in anime, nor even the most clever. Evangelion was good, but not the best anime, I'm not even sure it'd make it into my top five. It may sneak into my top ten, but that's not a sure thing.

Don't confuse "your personal preferences" with "the god's honest truth"
