Not only was that completely pointless, but you can't even spell Hentai properly. Reported for trolling (and more for being a crap troll than being a troll...).

Anyway, I agree with a lot of what's been posted, especially anyone mentioning Light from Death Note. I'd probably have to say Bando though, from Elfen Lied. At least in the manga (which I haven't actually read, though would like to), he has some heroic qualities even though he's still a jerkass. Like saving Mayu from the guy who tries to rape her, and so on. In the anime? He's the biggest douche around, stopping at absolutely nothing to try and kill Lucy (although he does have reason, I guess, since she did rip out his eyes and one arm just for kicks...).

EDIT: Add pretty much every character from Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni to that list. At some point, every one of them will snap and basically become a psycho crazed killer and a complete asshole (one even kills herself by slamming her head seven times into a knife when kidnapped just to avoid torture... what torture could be worse than THAT death?). Of course, alternate timelines can have that effect...

Technically, doesn't L kill himself? I haven't yet seen Death Note (plan to though), but thanks to spoliers (blame the internet) I was led to believe that L writes his own name in the Death Note because he knows that Kira is planning to do it anyway, and he reckons by doing it himself he can ensure a much more peaceful death (not to mention choosing when he dies for himself...)? Or have I got that completely wrong?

Light is still a douche though. I've seen the clip from the anime where he goes psycho at L's funeral...

Kyo from Samurai Deeper - He protects the girl, but he also threatens to kill her many times (not to be confused with his alter ego Kyoshiro)

Zex Marquis from Gundam Wing - Not really a villain since he helps out in the end, and although he was nice to Lt. Noin, he was a total jerk to the chick with glasses and hair buns.

He is different from most harem-protagonists in the sense that it borders to a soziopatic personality. He breaks every single promise he made to any girl, sleeps with the entire female cast, gets someone pregnant then abadons her, etc. At least he got what he deserved in the end.

Bando from Elfen Lied. Okay, so I don't watch anime at all except for that one, but really how much more of an asshole can a guy get? He slaps bitches and blames them for it, he has a strange bloodlust whether it be from a soldier, a mutant, or even a little girl, and is incredibly cocky/douchey.

What the hell man, Char/Casval/Quattro/BillyBob was awesome!

Now Quess, she was an arse-hole, whiny crazy little *****. And definitely Jerid Messa (but since he pilots the Titan Mk.II in the DW:Gundam series, I don't mind THAT much).

Chaud Blaze (or Eugene Chaud, whatever his name is) from Megaman NT Warrior was a stuck up prick sometimes, as was Protoman. Bass was too, the overpowered prick.

Actually, more on Gundam. Scirocco from Zeta, Recoa from Zeta, Beecha and his friend near the beginning of ZZ, EVERY PLAYABLE SEED CHARACTER IN DW:GUNDAM 2 (shut up and just kill stuff, who needs emotions when you have a 60-foot flying robot at your disposal? Even Kamille kpet his gob shut most of the time)

You should overrule villains. Villains in most anime are assholes, so the list would just be about the most animes we could name. Besides that, here are some "heroes":

The entire cast of Death Note (specially Light).
Vegitta in Dragon Ball Z.
Gendo Ikari in Evangelion.
The Count of Montecristo.
Guts in Berserker.
Allucard in Hellsing.
Sasuke and Ikari Ushiha in Naruto.

Who the hell is Ikari and what is 'Ushiha'? lol, And Yagami Seniors the man.

Al in fullmetal Alchemist (fucking talk to Eds enemies when he's off somewhere dying, he's an immortal (ish) Suit of kickass armor and still manages to suck).

Basilisk is full of arseholes, too.

2.the administrator dude who funds the company doing research on the diclonis in Elfen Lied even more of a dick in the manga.

3.the administrator dude who funds the company doing research on the diclonis' son. you know raping retarded chicks isn't cool.

4.Harry Mcdowel from Gungrave he's an asshole, he shoots his best friend in the eye and pushes him out of a skyscraper to fall to his death 20 stories down sort of a dick move...

5.Shinsen Tennozu. just cause ur husband left doesn't mean you have to whore your child out to a secret society that concentrates on fulfilling peoples sexual desire just not cool...
