And no self respecting rock fan would call those bands metal.

The same for AC/DC.

Edit: Also, slipknot isn't music. It's noise with people talking about emo BS that vaguely resembles a tune if the tune was wrung through an industrial drier and then used to strain tea.
at the risk of derailing this thread and turning it into an argument, you are so wrong about AC/DC. They are amazing, one of the all time rock greats. If AC/DC aren't rock then what is?

video relevant. Because AC/DC are awesome.

That I want to be a boy because I want to have a pixie cut and don't wear particularly feminine things.
That I'm 13-14 instead of 17(I have a youngish appearance despite being quite tall? idk)
That I'm tired or sad or angry or glaring at you.
That my paleness means I'm sick.
That I'm anti-social or simply hate people just because I'm quiet.
That I won't get dirty jokes because... I look innocent? O_O Prolly tied to the age thing.

How did you get the impression I have a problem with AC/DC?

I'm saying they're rock. Not metal. That's all. Hell, metal annoys me, so that's a compliment to them.

Anyone with a problem with AC/DC needs to be Thunderstruck.

People tend to be confused that I, as a transperson, don't crossdress casually every day, and in public. Others asume that makes me homosexual also, which I don't really get at all.

Also, my posture doesn't mean I'm depressed.

I've been called a hipster at times, I don't know if I might fit the description or not, I don't really see myself as one, but that's mostly because I don't care about that stuff.

Neither do I own a large collection of My Little Ponies because I like the show, or a fucking fursuit because I like drawing animals.

OT: That I'm nonviolent; it usually makes people want to piss me off and they don't do it when they find out I get pissed off VERY EASILY.

ah, my apologies. I must have misunderstood, when you said 'the same for AC/DC' I thought you were adding them to that list of other shit bands in plunks post.

glad we can agree on how awesome they are, and I had an excuse to post classic rock.

not that I need an excuse

That I'm going to go into their cars/trucks/vans and steal all their shit. In broad daylight, while wearing my home depot apron, at my job, that pays me money, so I don't have to steal your shit.

All day I hear the beep beep of people who all of a sudden remember they forgot to lock up their vehicles when they see the Mexican guy walking the parking lot.

Most days I laugh it off. Other days I just shake my head.

I've had a few insults slung at me because I barely wear make-up. I do to go out of course, but most girls my age wear make-up just to nip to the shop to buy a loaf of bread or to go to work.
There's no one to impress at my job so there's no point dolling myself up.
Maybe when Robert Downey Jr starts visiting work I'd start wearing my Sunday best but until that happens I don't see the point and that has led to a few vicious comments from girls who assume I must certainly be a lesbian. :p
Call me strange but if I can tell that the person if wearing makeup it actually turns me off... (the big "if" shall be pointed out. My observations skills are rivaling the ones of a dead goose, I can be baffled by the fact that a guy I meet on a daily basis for 8 years has cut off his shoulderlong hair one year ago.)
If you wear skin-toned make up it can be hard to tell.
I always wear very understated make up because I don't feel I can pull off the whole blood-red lips thing, and I used to get people say to me `See, you look lovely without make up!`.
But I don't wear makeup now because my skin tends to go mental if I put anything on it.

OT: I guess there are very few assumptions that people enjoy getting.
Most of the ones that tick me off are the dumb `You are a girl so why you X` ones.

I think the one that irritates me the most is that people think guys throw themselves at female gamers. I mean, sure, boyfriend enjoys it because we play together (we recently got Rayman Origins and we love it), but I do not get extra attention for it. I never have done. (Except the nasty kind).
I don't want people to throw themselves at me, but it's like going to a place where you occasionally get spat at and having everyone say `Oh, they love you so much!`. It's bloody confusing.

It wasn't meant to be a reference, more of a truthful statement.

It's funny you mention the arrow/knee line, because I've only heard it twice in my 60 hour game.

I was making the reference myself :U And yeah, I rarely hear the "arrow to the knee" comment, I usually hear him/her cracking about a sweetroll (MY SWEETROLL WAS ONLY STOLEN IN FALLOUT 3) or of course my wolfish grin being unsettling

Whatever, just wash your hands.
That I'm crazy. I'm not really sure how to put it but there is apparently something about me that doesn't inspire confidence in people. Its annoying but when they find out how much I know they are always impressed. So its a weird mix of being able to fly below the radar when I want to and being assumed to be nuts.

Haha my ladyfriend has that same problem. She's 21 and has frequently gets people refuse to sell her alcohol because she "obviously" has a fake ID. She gets guesses anywhere from 14-18. I'd put her at 19 tho if I just saw her.

Now on topic
I've gotten told that because I like anime I must totally be into the moe phenomenon and have a pedophilic attachment to some character or other. While I have no problem with the moe thing, I don't particularly like it more than anything else, and I definitely don't have an attachment to any characters.

Because I'm an engineering student I must be really good at math and also have no life. While I agree that I have no life, it's not because I'm studying all the time. Also, engineers don't have to be good at math, we just plug numbers into equations and simplify XD.

As a side note to all the slipknot hate: I agree that their music isn't anything special on it's own, but have you seen them in concert? Their live shows are amazing.

Here's one: having glasses and wearing clothes other than jeans and graphic tees make you serious. The funnier part is when after they see me act like them in the most normal way possible, they call me weird.

Lots and lots of hypocrites!

Bet that'll be a common one.

Close. for me its that because I'm a nerd that I love Star Trek and Star Wars, which I never liked. I have nothing against them, I just never really cared that much about future sci-fi, preferring medieval and fantasy genres.

Was walking along the beach the other day and a hippie chick holding a census clipboard tried to entice me over by saying "Long hair means you care, right?".

Ooooh how wrong you are, lady. Kept walking.

When accused of being anti-social and a shut in, regardless of my crippling anxiety and my Autism/SPD http://autism.about.com/od/treatmentoptions/a/whatisspd.htm. Socializing can be fun but also very difficult for me, I hate being accused of avoiding too much social activities, I really struggle with a lot of it!

People assume many things about me, depending on which version of me they meet.

If they meet work me, they assume that I'm very posh (I'm middle class but speak with RP) and that I'm very clever (I'm not, I just read widely and retain the information that I read)

If they meet writer me, they assume I'm a recluse (actually kind of accurate, but see below) and that I'm frighteningly clever (writing a book does not require you to be intelligent, only to be dedicated)

If they meet guitarist me, they assume that I'm very outgoing (I go to several regular gigs and open mics, but I do like my quiet staying in time, see above) and that I must be rolling in women (I used to in my younger days, but not anymore)

If they meet actor me, they assume that I'm posh (see above but with added drama school lessons) and that I'm eccentric (actually probably the most accurate)

And if anyone knows anything about my school life, then they assume all sorts of crap. I'm gay (I went to boarding school) I'm posh (it was actually a state boarding school) I'm very clever (I got 100% on half of my A Level exams because I actually studied)

And of course if they know about any of my nerdy habits, the it causes most people to have a brain implosion (seriously) because they can't see how someone can like Batman comics or videogames and still also write novels and play the guitar and act. It's not hard people.

Captcha: Upper crust. Given how many times I said posh, strangely appropriate.
