People assume many things about me, depending on which version of me they meet.
If they meet work me, they assume that I'm very posh (I'm middle class but speak with RP) and that I'm very clever (I'm not, I just read widely and retain the information that I read)
If they meet writer me, they assume I'm a recluse (actually kind of accurate, but see below) and that I'm frighteningly clever (writing a book does not require you to be intelligent, only to be dedicated)
If they meet guitarist me, they assume that I'm very outgoing (I go to several regular gigs and open mics, but I do like my quiet staying in time, see above) and that I must be rolling in women (I used to in my younger days, but not anymore)
If they meet actor me, they assume that I'm posh (see above but with added drama school lessons) and that I'm eccentric (actually probably the most accurate)
And if anyone knows anything about my school life, then they assume all sorts of crap. I'm gay (I went to boarding school) I'm posh (it was actually a state boarding school) I'm very clever (I got 100% on half of my A Level exams because I actually studied)
And of course if they know about any of my nerdy habits, the it causes most people to have a brain implosion (seriously) because they can't see how someone can like Batman comics or videogames and still also write novels and play the guitar and act. It's not hard people.
Captcha: Upper crust. Given how many times I said posh, strangely appropriate.
