I've had a few insults slung at me because I barely wear make-up. I do to go out of course, but most girls my age wear make-up just to nip to the shop to buy a loaf of bread or to go to work.
There's no one to impress at my job so there's no point dolling myself up.
Maybe when Robert Downey Jr starts visiting work I'd start wearing my Sunday best but until that happens I don't see the point and that has led to a few vicious comments from girls who assume I must certainly be a lesbian. :p
It all makes sense now.
That's why the last girl I asked out was a lesbian :p
To be fair she didn't know until a while after.

I would still prefer if make up was for looking good on certain ocassions, rather than even feeling like you have to use it if you want to impress someone. Still, that's far better than "No! I can't go outside! I HAVEN'T GOT MY FACE ON YET!"

People assume that I'm compensating for a small package by working out.
They're right, I'd just wish they'd stop assuming that. (I'm kidding...maybe)

People always assume. I'm so past it bothering me, they did it to me when I was a small child, they do it to me now. Why waste time getting my knickers in a twist over it. If that assumption gets in your way, correct it. Otherwise, let them assume.

Also the people generalizing the World of Warcraft players. That hurts guys, truly. :p
(Most of us do have lives, we just log on for a few hours, talk to our friends, play with them, like most gamers! Shocker. The 24/7 crowd are a strange alien race in themselves and are less than 1%)

*dusts cheetos off of fingers* MY WORK HERE IS DONE.

This might be a hard one...

Don't get me wrong, it's not that people don't assume all kinds of things about me (that I'm stoned, grumpy, ten years older than I actually am, or - due to my username - female). It's just that it doesn't annoy me.

On the contrary, most misconceptions about me are highly amusing. Nothing like the awkward moment when someone finds out that I am, in fact, not female, even though my nickname exits on an "a".

Some people think I'm a homosexual but in turn I'm actually just quirky and eccentric.
Pretty much this :L
Also when people assume that I'm a Hobbit. This happens surprisingly often.
Which is why I never want to go back to New Zealand.
Also that I'm very shy and timid upon first contact with stranger.
Within 5-7 minutes, the truth Shines through!

Because I'm a Brit living in Canada, people assume I drink tea...You would think people would look past the stereotype...nope...When they ask me I ask them (since their Canadian) "Do you live in an igloo?"

I don't get asked this question a lot but the assumption has been made and I think people ask it in a joking manner so I reply in the same way :D

People sometimes think that because I'm quiet around them, that I hate them. I will never understand that one.
I get this as well. Another assumption that I get because I'm a 'quiet guy' is that 'one day I'm just going to snap' and kill everyone.

Same here. Also, my default facial expression is such that even when I feel like I'm smiling, it's not always clear that I am to anyone else. Those who know me can tell, but many who don't tend to assume I'm an unpleasant fellow.

But that doesn't drive me crazy, it just makes it a little harder to make new friends.

The most annoying assumptions I regularly run into are those where I agree or disagree with a minor point in whatever topic is under discussion, and people assume that I'm a hard-line champion for whatever "side" is most associated with holding or not holding that point.

For example, if say that the outcry over gun violence is out of proportion with the harm it does relative to other sources of harm, people assume I'm a gun-loving NRA member. If I say that the fear of rape has reached levels where some are being paranoid about it and run the risk of discrediting those who are trying to address the problem, I am accused of blaming the victims and writing it off as Not A Problem.

There is such a thing as nuance. I vote democrat but dislike some things democrats do and like some things that republicans do. I like my country but dislike some of the things it has done. I'm an atheist but have no problem making friends with religious people. I think global warming is real and try not to have more of an impact than I have to, but view a lot of environmental activists with contempt for their own misuse of science and propaganda. I try to eat healthy foods but think the organic craze is practically a scam.

The world is complex, people are complex, and the issues that they deal with are complex. I think our discussions could be more productive if we stopped pretending this wasn't the case.

Because of my political beliefs, which are based a lot on both the right and left wing, I have to be at the extreme right or extreme left.

Ever heard of the center?

Oh, wait. To a lot of people it means "I'm on the fence"... Screw them.

Also, that because I'm white and male, I've never had any hardship in my life, nor could I understand the daily struggle it is being the "minority". Just the self-righteous arrogance of the people who say that makes me want to bash heads.
Oh. You probably didn't get the memo when you turned 13, but in your city there must be a secret club in your city, and you must gain access trough a small blood sample that will confirm your ethnicity. Then insert your penis on the lock to enter.

Meetings for the "Destroy All Women" Project are Monday nights. We also sync our girlfriends'/wives' menstruation cycles so that we can play xbox together and listen to Eminem while saying the "n word".

That I support the Scottish National Party.

I'm half English. I live in England right now as you're talking to me. Why should I support the most England-hating party out there? They called my mum a white settler for Christ's Sake!

Most of my friends and family are back there and I don't want them to live in a 3rd world country (Which is what the place would be if England, Wales and Northern Ireland's addutional accumulated wealth was taken away.).

But folks around here hear my accent and assume I want Scotland to split from the UK.

Also I hate haggis, don't drink any kind of alcohol and my hair is naturally brown.

Welcome to the escapist, stay out of the basement. Unless you're going to start gender wars, then report there immediately.

And yes, WoW and nerd-dom are instantly linked to most people. As is being a loser to ignorant people.

Hell, I once had a WoW player come to me for advice on WoW. The level of ignorance required to be a WoW player who assumes all massive nerds must be WoW players is simply mindboggling.

One thing that always gets me, (and that I just realized recently) is that people think I'm stupid. I'm not entirely sure why, except for the fact that I can act a bit air headed at times. The issue that I have is, after they make the assumption that I'm stupid, almost nothing I say has any impact, or bearing on anything that we ever talk about after.

Just general bullshit like that.
Your-what-accent? Sorry, I'm Swedish, so I've never heard of that one.

OT: I got nothing.

This one.

Also: That I'm gay. If I'm not gay then apparently I'm a virgin. And when I was out in a nearby town on Friday night I bumped into people I know who separately assumed I was lost, or some shit.

Fuck them, I do what I want.
