Because I am so skinny (I am 22 and weigh around 105) I OBVIOUSLY must be anorexic or bulimic when I do eat food I just never gain any pounds.

By skinhead, I assume you mean shaved head? Or do you go all "This is England" and punch minorities in the face in the name of St.Georges Cross?
haha yes, I have a shaved head. Due to tattoos and wearing band shirts like slayer etc some people assume neo Nazi. Personally I think racism is stupid

People sometimes think that because I'm quiet around them, that I hate them. I will never understand that one.
This is mine. A while back, people (including my own girlfriend) assumed that because I was quiet around them, I hated them or was always judging them.

Uh, no. I'm quiet around you because I hardly know you, and have no idea what to talk about. I'm only animated around my close friends.

Annoys the hell outta me, that one does.

Are you an Atheist, then or a Muslim? (Or any other religion)

...
Neither, I'm agnostic. I find people tend to make worse assumptions about atheists than they do theists!

Some people really aren't comfortable with not knowing. I'm quite happy in the knowledge that some things, as they are, are entirely unprovable.

Another assumption: that because I'm a software developer, I'm some sort of genius or maths savant. I am neither. The more people realise this the more accessible the profession will hopefully become to the younger folk.

Things people tend to assume about me when I'm at work on checkouts:

- I'm not smart because I work at checkouts
I'd totally forgotten (perhaps repressed?) this, but it really hit home. I had to work on a checkout at the supermarket for a few years to help get me through university and experienced many assumptions that were generally negative.

Still, that's life, it's all the more satisfying when you had to deal with people's crap like that when you were just trying to make a bit of cash while studying and you end up far and beyond whatever all the haters managed to achieve. :)

CAPTCHA: groundhog day - what it felt like working on a bloody checkout

Because I have a long hair, I must be hippie.

I am currently working at a slaughterhouse. I love this job.

Because I'm chubby that means I'm stupid.

I'm a lot of things but stupid isn't one of them.

(Recently found I have an illness that effects my weight and makes me exhausted. I have to go for an op for it soon. Hopefully I will find it easier to stay slim after that.)

Because I believe in evolution, I'm an atheist. My friend and her mom both asked me this DIRECTLY after I told them.

OT:I'm christian

Assumption no. 1 that im gay
Assumption no. 2 that im violent/aggresive

the first one doesnt really bother me as much as it used to but the second i find unpleasnt I havent done anything to earn that assumption but its has stuck, unfortunatly.

Asian + Curly Hair = Spanish?
Wut.

And because I'm well-spoken, I must be aloof and have some kind of "better than you" superiority complex.

Lets see, this is for specific people since there is no one big assumption about me.

Mom: Assumes that I am still her six year old from a very long time ago.

Grandma: assumes that since I wear a hat, I'm in a gang.

People at school: Assume that I'm gay. I have no idea why. I do not give off any gay vibes to anyone but its sort of funny messing with the homophobic kids at school.

The biggest assumption is that I'll take any insults people throw at me, and sad to say, this is sort of true. I am not the most conflict friendly guy, but when I snap, I snap and people get creeped out by it.
Are you sure you're not me?

OT: There no real stereotype *I use the word stereotype that it happens with a lot of somewhat similar people* when it comes to me, but for some reason I make people uneasy.

I'm not really tall, not buff, not fat (A tiny bit chub, but whatever), and I am reasonably attractive I guess (Some girls and a guy has asked me out, but since I ain't looking for a relationship, I had to turn them down... Hate breaking peoples heart)

I think it might have something to do with my eyes and smile .__. People call it "Dead" for some reason, and I have no clue why. I mean, I'm not a crazed serial-killer out to get his sexual joy out of murdering people... Yet >_>

I guess looking dead is my stereotype, therefore people think I am out to butcher them?

Wait, people call you cigar/smoke? *In England, fag is another word for cigar/Smoke*

That because my natural face (not happy, not sad, just neutral) makes me look really angry or pissed off about stuff and generally when someone wants to talk to me i give them the "death stare" they seem to get a bit scared and go all funny about the question they were going to ask me. Normally i do it to people i dont really know or just getting to know, but i still do it to friends, also when walking down the street and someone looks at my face its like "oh shit, this guys gonna murder me" and they move out of the way, kind of fun when im following someone but dont want to they look behind and start walking a bit faster (probably because i mostly wear hoodies)

Another assumption when people get to know me is because i am rather articulate that i have a superiority complex, i tend to answer questions with lots of different words because i love vocabulary, hell i even challenge my self to not use the same word at times, because im weird like that. I also correct peoples pronunciation and spellings of words a lot.

I also have a chuck liddell mohawk most of the time so people tend to think im a punk or anarchist or something.

Also as you can tell i overtalk/overtype because i get really nervous around people i dont know

I'm apparently a hipster, because I don't follow any fashions or limit my listening to top 40. Plus, I wear spectacles that look good on me. I'm also sad because my moustache droops down when my face isn't doing anything. That's not true, I'm sad because presumptuous people keep offering criticism I'm not interested in. I've no interest in bettering myself.

Are you well dressed and preternaturally witty? More importantly, have you been having homosexual sex with men of the same gender?
No, yes, no. the way you said that just made me laugh.

If it makes you feel better I've had gay men hit on me with that same line :p

On topic:

I have long hair and still have my old denim jacket from high school so I CLEARLY must be a pothead...every time I'm in Berkeley or SF I get aproached to buy or sell weed...I've never touched the stuff

I also had more female freinds than male ones so the assumption was that I was clearly gay...I've never understood that leap in logic...

I have multiple metal issues, all diagnosed. I hate people who say, "It's not so bad" or "You're not a bad person" Paranoia, depression, anger and psychopathy are not exactly condusive to shiney happy people.

Or they assume I'm heavily medicated. Have had people ask me for extra meds so they can get high. I don't take any meds at all. :p

Or they assume I'm trying to be a badass or something. Mistaking truth for bravado just shows how idiotic you are. I'd like to be "normal" as it were. I'm not and never will be. Soimething I've accepted but still don't like the assumptions.

You know what happens when you assume? You make and ass out of u and me!
1. I'm in marching band, therefore, I must be a nerd who gets good grades and takes AP/Honors classes. That's true.
2. I'm in drumline, so I must do drugs. False, I've yet to touch drugs, and am probably never going to take them.
3. I've played video games, therefore, WoW. Sure, I've dappled in WoW, but never seriously.
4. Part of the PC master race, as those are all the games I play.
I don't care about what you play, so long as you have fun. We all have our preferences, budgets, et cetera and who am I, one immortal man, to stop you?

because i have Asperger's Syndrome, have an IQ of -10 and am otherwise physically and mentally handicapped.

drives me up the ****ing wall, i don't know what my IQ is, but it's probably roughly average. and ask anyone of my friends about my social ineptitude.

also, because i only have 25 facebook friends. i'm an anti-social shut-in. i like having the profiles of people i ACTUALLY TALK TO AND INTERACT WITH ON FREQUENT BASIS. *ahem*

yeah, that annoys me.
