Loved: CLANNAD. One of the best high school romances ever animated for one very simple reason- it was willing to go BEYOND high school to explore life beyond the standard rom-com cliches. That and it's unbelievably heartwarming and beautiful.
May I recommend you read Suzuka? I can't speak for the anime, but the manga is great (although quite ecchi).

Love Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, it's wacky social satire tickles my black funny bone.
Zetsubou Shitaa! The fact that my choice has been ninja'd, as well as the fact that I'm making this lame joke, has left me in despair!

OT: Because Angel Beats! has been ninja'd as well, I'll just take the first romance anime I've watched. Behold:
Cheeky Angel
Too bad I can't get myself to rewatch it due to terrible, terrible animation. Which is terrible.

EDIT: Forgot the hate.
I'll just go with the majority here and say:
The Big Shonen Three: Naruto, Bleach and One Piece

I still don't get why Fullmetal Alchemist isn't part of those three four.
I'm kind of glad, though, because then I wouldn't be able to say that I hate the Big Shonen Four.

Anime I hated: Elfin Lied. Stiff characters, pretentious storytelling, ridiculous tone shifts, degrading and contradictory fetishism, and overly gratuitous gore, all wrapped in typical dime-a-dozen anime-style religious allegory. Just boorish.
using "overly gratuitous gore" and "boorish" to describe the same thing seems a little bit contradictory. Anyway, religious allegory? stiff characters? pretentious story telling? did we watch the same anime?

good anime: trigun, cowboy bebop, and the original FMA when they decided to ignore the manga and run with their own story.

bad anime: FLCL that was the most Incomprehensible load of crap i have ever seen, and if the story doesnt make sense, it tends to make crap anime
The story of FLCL actually makes a lot of sense. The way it is presented just makes it crazy and hard to follow the first time or two one watches it, which I always thought made it more fun when you start to decipher it. I can still see why many people do not like it though.

I love many shows, SDF Macross is awesome.

Like many people here, I could never get into Naruto.

Love: Easy, there are plenty, so I'll pick a popular one
Death Note. Aside from the main character being inherently fascinating, it has a brilliantly written plot, that twists and turns constantly. The real pleasure of watching comes from seeing what kind of plot Kira will come up with next. It's an endless battle of brilliant minds and a character study of a sociopath with a god complex. And I'll admit...
I cried at the end

Hate: I'd pick Yu-Gi-Oh GX, but that seems like a cop out. So... one I was disappointed with. Elfen Lied. Everyone talked about how heartwarming this was, but it seemed like a paint by numbers Frankenstein story. The characters aren't intriguing or likable enough to create an emotional link to the events, and sense it moves incredibly slowly, there's no plot line to keep you hooked. By itself it would have been just average, and maybe this is because I'm the emotional equivalent to the terminator when it comes to media, but what really pissed me off was the fact that it kept trying to get an emotional response from me by just being blatantly horrible without any build up or irony to speak of

Hunter X Hunter: Starts out just alright and greatly improves in every way the more you go into it, possibly one of the best anime story's I've seen besides FMA and Bezerk.

Elfin Lied: Story was alright but the characters were so boring I literally yawned the whole way through. Yes, even through the unnecessary gore fests and hentai snore fests.

samurai champloo: i like the art style and the combat sequences seem very fluid and a lot of time and effort has gone into the anime and all in all it's just something thats very enjoyable to watch

Naruto: standing around conversing about how you're going to become a ninja or deciding whether to punch someone whilst constantly shouting believe it is not entertaining, while it's true that DBZ did the same thing of standing around and boasting and spending half the episode doing that naruto doesn't have the humongous battles in which half a continent is destroyed by a fucking punch in between the long boring conversations.

Wasn't that the first season? Now he rarely shouts believe it! like some stupid spoilt kid. -.-
Shippudden was much better.
OT: Code Geass - Awesome trainwreck storyline, awesome cast, and awesome fan-service.
Bleach - Well actually this isn't my most hated anime. It's one of my favourites, actually. I'm just not entertained by the fact that the main character is a pussy with no skills.

I loved Death Note. It was brilliant. Solid characters, good storytelling, decent animation and an interesting premise.

I haven't watched much anime recently.. and the only one I am currently up to date with is Naruto, which I do enjoy! Even if the fillers suck -.- And I know theres gonna be one soon :S
I also love some classics like Martian Successor Nedesico and other giant robot animes :3

I hate Dragonball... even when I was 8 I had the brains to understand that it was so terrible! And I haven't really given Bleach a go but as a Naruto fan should I hate it? It seems theres like rubber and glue... but I don't know why :S

Oh! Ghost in the shell is awesome aswell!

Love- Ghost Hunt: creepy, good characters, good plot(s)

Hate: Naruto- I'm not even going to go on. It was just like "Lost", pilot episode and a few episodes after that were good. But then everything went south!

severely hate: Pokemon- Gone on too long and is too repetitive.

WOW! You couldn't stand the corny dialogue and far too spaced out waiting around to fight scenes at 8?! You must be superior to me because I only realised it when I hit 17 *bows*.

Also, you as a Naruto fan or any fan of anything shouldn't hate any anime (anything) just because they seem like rivals. I preferred Naruto over all but the first season of Bleach is good, second season however was just terrible, like one big filler. I heard it gets better but I couldn't care less.

I recommend you also watch Yu Yu Hakusho, basically the creators of Naruto, Bleach and DBZ were inspired by Yu Yu and even though the story is a bit pretentious, the characters are really fun and funny, best out of the lot by far.
