Atheists
That is not a question.
Do Atheist parents have the right to force Atheism on their children?
Do religious parents have the right to force their belief on their children?
The best answer I can give to this is that I will instill the values I have as best I can, and let them find what they percieve as the "truth". If I agree with them, then so be it, I will treat their views the way I treat any other. Opinion.
How many of you will raise your child not to belive in a god?
I'm sorry, I don't know how many people will raise their children one belief or another. If you would like to know if I will, then here ya go: I will not tell my child there is or is not a god (Lower case as it is not meant as a name here). If my son/daughter wishes to believe the Sun is a god, it's their choice, at least it has tangible proof as to it's existance.
How many of you will raise your child with knowledge of God? (Without making fun of it while you teach it.)
Once again, I don't have numbers, I doubt anyone knows how many will or wont. If I am to allow them to make their own decision, why am I teaching them only your Christan god? Might as well teach them about the Roman gods too. Sorry, I don't have time to teach EVERY theory. Not sure why this survey is so biased in favor of one religion though.
How many of you will take your children to church?
Do you notice you want me to give you statistics way too much? Why would I take my child to a church? Which branch of Christianity would I even force down the poor kid's throat? Really, they can't make up their minds as to what the truth is, why should I support such inaccurate inaccuracy?
How many of you will raise your children to make their own decission, like you had?
500 billion? Said it a couple times already, but they can believe in whatever they want, but I expect them to have a good reason, not just mindlessly follow a crowd.
How many think that your child will be Atheist?
Let me do a quick count....Ok, 7 billion, guess I'm an optimist. Like every parent, I'd expect my child to be smart, so let us hope they'll follow logic, eh?
Let's be honest. No matter what you do, your child will almost certainly be Athist. Because thats the house hold they grew up in. So did you think you forced it on them?
My mother tried to force me into being a good Catholic boy... Guess how well that turned out. I suppose I asked too many questions, 'cause the only responses I got from anyone, including priests was something like "That's the nature of faith." I asked if they get much problem from the brain washing procedure, Got yelled at, asked them why everything they can't explain is the devil's work, and bam, I'm no longer allowed in that church. Big loss for me, eh?
But, why not REALLY be honest here, you want to try and make us look like hypocrates, so does it matter what we write? Why is it you didn't try to be less hypocritical yourself? Why always the Christian god? You should make one that asked about religion as a whole. Only fair, what if my kid wants to be a Jew, or a follower of Islam? What are those not real to you?
