It had better not fucking impact the games. I say this as a huge SMT fanboy who would FLIP HIS SHIT if anything bad happened to 'em.

They were definitely one of those developers that I heard about, but don't really know or have played any of their games...
They have a real following, though, shame for them to close down

Not much of a loss for 360 owners. Atlus never put out anything exceptional on that format.

UUUUuuuuoooooh, I see.

Phew. Now I can't still continue my futile praying that they'll bring over Arcana Heart 2.

Never been a big follower of atlus, not even sure if i played one of their games, but always sad when a game dev dies.

I'm still mourning psygnosis....

Thank God it's just a corporate issue. I'd hate to loose one of the best developers and publishers in the industry.

Now we just have to wait for Catherine and Persona 5

That's too bad. I really like the trauma center games and their rpgs were cool too.
But I guess they're out of the race.

It's not like much is going to change. Index holdings has been meddling in Atlus' doings for some time. They plan to continue to the name. They basically just fired a crap load of middle management and took more direct control over the Atlus. What Index having more direct control over Atlus' franchises remains to be seen, I know I would like a new Persona game sometime soon.

I sense a plot by Square-Enix, Konami and Capcom, the triumvirate of evil. First Atlus, then the bananas and then ... the world!

Seriously though, seems like there is no real reason to fret yet, but it would be a shame if Atlus went under. We'd be pretty much left with Square-Enix as the major supplier of our jrpg fix..

Atlus Faithful

What I care about is: Atlus will continue developing games for PS3, PSP, NDS and other consoles?

In all likelihood, yes.

This is what Red and I are saying, over and over. Atlus is not becoming a mobile games company. The original story doesn't even say that. This is purely a corporate maneuvering so that Index, which is a mobile games company, has easier access to Atlus IPs. That's all.

Doesn't really affect me, since every handheld game I played by Atlus was pretty bad. But I understand that there were a lot of fans of Atlus here on the escapist, so we can have a little memorial thread.
