ok, there is a thread about this on the altus forums, really its just corporate restructuring, it shouldnt affect the games here in the us at all, at least according to the people at the forums at atlus

http://www.atlus.com/forum/showthread.php?t=7857
This better not affect the games, Atlus is one of the few companies that still throws out ideas that interest me.

Dude, I already know he's no more, I played bios-

Oh. Riiiight...

[/Endobviousjoke]

Can't say I've played any of the games mentioned, but this does remind me that I did mean to get trauma centre at some point. I've heard good things about Atlas, so another sad loss to the gaming industry, it seems.

Well, I hope this doesn't change the quality of what would have been Atlus titles. I love those games. They are consistently the most original RPG titles on the market.

Well that sucks. Altus made some great games like Disgaea and Demon's souls. They were the alternative. *grumbles*
Actually Nippon Ichi Software made Disgaea and From Software made Demon's Souls.
I can't really see this affecting them too much. The development team still exists after all, it's not like they fired everyone.

Never played any of them. Trauma center looked lame, I don't even know the pernunciation of "Shin Megami Tensei," Demons Souls is still extremely overpriced for the level of interest I have in it. My few of my friends swear by persona 3, but since their descriptions all start out with "It's this game where you're in high school..." I have no remote interest or intent of looking into it.

So yeah, no opinion.

While this might not be the end of the world it hardly bodes well as I don't see what good could possibly come of this and Atlus is one of those companies I REALLLYYYYYYY don't want bad stuff happening too. I suppose I'll wait for more info on what all this actually means before breaking down into tears and cursing the heavens but I'm already not happy :(. *Chris Crocker voice* LEAVE ATLUS ALONE!!!

Well, to be honest, I've never played any of their games. It really is a shame though.

Well this came straight out of nowhere. I guess a Demon Soul's 2 is out of the question?
Argh, cannot stand the degree of ignorance much longer... *cringes*

Demon's Souls was never developed by Atlus in the first place. It was made by a Japanese Sony first-party studio, From Software. All Atlus did was publish the game in America. If Demon's Souls 2 is ever to be made, Atlus dissolving will have no affect on its creation.

Atlus will continue to make games. Catherine will continue to go on, the Persona games will as they make a lot of money in Japan selling thousands of copies of games/OST`s and live performances of the Persona OST.
SMT: Nocturne is rare for a reason, it was so popular and Atlus didnt know how popular it became and couldnt get more copies out as they wanted.

Atlus will continue to make games (doubt they`ll publish any 3rd party games anymore though).
