It's overpopulation. I'm fine with them doing that.
They should start on the damn humans some time soon, too.

Yes, clearly airstrikes will help them save the fragile ecosystems.
That's not a stupid and terrible idea at all.

For some reason, I laughed like crazy when I read the thread title and imagined air strikes on camel herds. I'm a terrible person.

But I really don't see anything wrong with it, especially since the camels will be used as food, since the camels are an invasive species.

Camel bugers, with 650 thousand camels, that could be Australia's newest major export!

Just because they're the greatest mathematicians on the planet, doesn't mean they get a free ride. Slaughter the damn lot of them.

If animal rights nutbags think that neutering camels is a better solution than killing them outright, I suggest we neuter them and ask them how they feel.

I did too, the image of an A-10 flying low and slow, dropping a payload on a large camel herd and flying off into the sunset bought me a laugh.

I don't see much problem with doing it, if the environmentalists say that it's alright, go for it. Then again I live in New England and the only thing we have an overpopulation of here are stupid over-protective soccer moms. Seriously, the PTSA in my school district banned all shirts with guns on them, which is fine, until my brother had to change his BOBA GODFORSAKEN FETT shirt because it had "a gun" on it. Grrr

/rant (sorry)

not everything. thats a lie like 45% of the wildlife can kill you
It's not a lie, it was an exaggeration, but you have to admit that 45% is ridiculously high. I am sure they will regret it if they become endangered.

"Australia?s wild camel population is out of control. An estimated 1 million roam the outback, destroying fragile ecosystems, fouling water holes, and causing a threat to endangered wildlife."

I find this rather funny actually. Air-striking camels. It sounds like something I'd do in an RTS when I get bored.

Honestly though, I've seen the overpopulation of camels firsthand a few years back when I went to Australia for a couple months. I flew over portion of the outback in a helicopter a few times and saw heard after heard of camels. They were more common than birds over there. And that was a few years ago. I can't even imagine how dense their population must be now.

Oh, and I support whatever must be done to protect the Australian ecology. (I hear non-native bobcats are really bad over there too...)

Edit: Before people get all up-in-arms, THEY'RE NOT USING BOMBS. YOU CAN'T MAKE BURGERS FROM EXPLODED MEAT. THEY'RE GONNA SHOOT THEM WITH A RIFFLE.

Not once does it meantion sniping in that article. However, the word "Airstrike" is used several times.

in other articles it mentions men on foot and in helicopter using Scoped Rifles plus a head shot would be a quick way to go

People who haven't played TF2 can't imagine such a manly beast as the Australian using anything other than ordinance to deal with any and all threats.

EDIT: Reading through the comments on various sources, the only people calling these 'Airstrikes' are those with their heart sets on seeing this as a crime. It's easier to imagine people as evil when you say they've been doing evil things.
