Im an Ozzie and I can tell you we dont have A-10's in fact an Air Strike with our airforce will be more like a Cessna with a pipe bomb out the window.

We have a lot of issues with imported animals, rabbits, foxes, cats and camels. This stuff happens all the time.

It looks like Camel season is open.

I believe that bolt-action rifles are still legal in Australia, and this looks like a good time for a government sponsored hunting campain. All the they would need to do is get the word out, and offer a reward for dead camels (plus they could give the meat to the homeless).

Discount Camel hunting trips could be very good for the tourist industry.
hunting is a lucrative job anyway without Gov help. also we can own any weapon you can have in the U.S but you need to be a licensed Hunter.
You can hunt for a living in Australia?

I am intrigued.

yeah you just sell the meat. such as roo, pig or camel to a dealer and they sell it to a butcher
its easier in the country where you just go into the butchers and sell it
I'm seriously putting that on my list of dream-jobs (I hunt as a hobby).

What are the regualations on hunting like in Australia?

What about our F-111's. we could fly low and use the dump and burn.

I think we should round a ton of them up and put them in a big safari like area and then loan people knives and guns and let them relieve their stress and angry on the camels, since they are gunna die anyway. Let people go commando on these Camel Basterds!!!RAWR
go commando?.....not wearing underpants on them?
A little known fact is the camels are drawn to the human genitals, so one would just lie in the grass and wait, and then leap up and kill their poor confused camel...

well its seasonal on certain game like roos. but some can be hunted all year round.

but it's taxed and you need a licence. most of the time you make little profit due to petrol and ammunition costs

Hey not a bad plan.... they actually put out enough flames to BBQ a few camels no drama :)

Australians all let us rejoice, for we are young and freeeee...

I kind of hope the world goes to shit soon, us australians will have billions of kangaroo and camels to feast on, while the rest of the world eats shoe leather and eachother.

Personally I am against using aircraft as tools of hunting. Normally though I am pointing out the stupid nature of aircraft hunters who gun down rare and endangered animals, all for the sake of killing seeing you can not even recover the meat. Likewise seeing how unstable a chopper is one can never get a clean killing shot, usually leaving a wounded animal to slowly die from secondary infections or blood loss. Not a good thing, even when hunting you do so ethically and cleanly!

Yet this is Australia outback, where you could land a chopper right on top of the creature if you wanted to as it is flat and usually clear of trees. They are also camels, a imported creature with 0 chance of going extinct. So... I don't know.

I guess the only problem I have is you can not be sure to kill cleanly... but aside from that, got no problem with hunting camels in aircraft.

Feh, the media is often incapable of understanding small or not so small differences. I doubt that any government would waste bombs on wildlife.

They should just drop them off in America. I think we could use some camels.

Or maybe make it a free game fest. And use the meat to feed the poor?
Something helpful like that, maybe?

This isn't some crackpot idea that came from nowhere, we've been using this method for years to cull everything from wild pigs to kangaroos. Despite how it might seem, and what logic says to the contrary, this does, has and will continue to work.
Too many little camels in this outback!
Sorry.

If they're killing camels to control the population of an invasive species, then I support it. Letting the population run wild will just lead to them destroying the ecosystem and causing everything to die. Sacrificing a few to save many seems to work here. I hope they find some use for the camel bodies.
