As I see it the real problem comes from the fact that history shows us that winning a battle against a technologically advanced group only leads to a much less humane counter attack leading to the total annihilation of the more primitive force. Assuming that this wonder-metal is so valuable that it makes everything work, which is what my son's research on the interwebs concludes, why would the humans not just return to Pandora and just glass the entire planet with nukes and then mine out all the metal while wearing biohazard suits. They already had to wear environment suits, so just add a thin layer of lead and you're good to go.
I'm wondering where they get a plot that isn't undone with the above paradigm.
Given the rapacious nature of the human race and the obscene greed of a corporate driven society, how does Mr. Cameron come up with a believable sequel?
