Probably the Navi being invaded by some other alien race and the humans helping out or some crap like that. Avatar really wasn't the masterpeice I hear people claiming it to be. It was good but it wasn't the god sent film most people think it was. A sequel is so un-needed.
Well, I thought it was myself. A very good way to end what hasn't been a great decade.
The story was just a rehash of a Disney classic with a new skin. Granted the skin is incredibly well animated and nicely put together its nothing new.

As for a not so great decade... Lord of the Rings. Star Wars. Watchmen. Distric 9. Cloverfield. 28 days/weeks later. Crank 1&2. 300... and sooooooo many more. I think the decade had a FANTASTIC bunch of movies. Sure there were some totally rediculus ones but what decade doesn't have its fair share of crap?
Star wars was the 70s and early 80s
/golfclap The prequals. 2 & 3.

No. No sequels. Don't ruin a good thing. Avatar is excellent as it is, and cash-in sequels will do nothing but betray Avatar's anti-corporatism message.

I have trouble anything following this would be done solely as a cash in. James Cameron gives a shit about the quality of his movies.

HOLY SHIT! What do you think the Asylum is going to do about Avatar?!?

Well, first of all, I didn't think that the the film was much of a classic myself, then again, that's just my opinion. Anyway, the film was essentially completely mapped out concept wise before Pocahontas was released, and pre-production began less than a year afterward. Hardly enough time to completely script a film. James Cameron came up with, first wrote down and expanded upon the film idea when he was 15, in 1970, way before Dances with Wolves or Ferngully.

I'm of the opinion anyway that the origins of the plot don't matter as long as the film in question is entertaining, which is what I go to see films for at the most basic level, to be entertained. As far as entertainment goes, Avatar is pretty bloody entertaining, at least for me.

Actually, I was talking more in a general events of all sorts spectrum, not exclusively film. Film was pretty good actually this decade. Better than the 90's on a whole.
It was Deffinitaly entertaining. Not that I didn't like it, I just don't think it was half as good as its been made out to be. It kept my interest 'till the end which is pretty damn good haha.

As far as 00-09 goes. I thought it was pretty entertaining haha. LOTS happened (not that it normaly doesn't over the period of ten years.) As much as I like the 90's the 00's were much better hahahaha.

It should be about the Navi teaming up with Disney and Microsoft to hunt down James Cameron for making a movie that blatantly rips off Pocahontas and Halo all in one go.

PS: Big congrats for the guys at Weta Workshop for winning an Oscar for their work on Avatar
To be fair, Avatar ripped off Aliens, which was a James Cameron movie and Pocahontas ripped off basically every story ever told about clashing cultures, so that argument doesn't hold a whole lot of water.

PS - Aliens > Halo.

I wouldn't say ripped off, considering they're both his films. However, the dropships, the walkers, the general marine aesthetic is taken from Aliens. Michelle Rodriguez's character is a lot like Vasquez from Aliens, Sigourney Weaver is in both, the slimy corporation character is in both. I don't hold it against Avatar, it's just a continuation of a theme.
Basically this. The whole theme of the generic Space Marine was pioneered by Aliens, which is Cameron's work, and you can see the influence rather heavily in Avatar, as well as 95% of all Space Marine games.

Does it really need a sequel? I mean, it seemed like it was tied up pretty well.

Maybe they'll do something about actually living on Pandora. Could be quite interesting.
I just hope it isn't over-hyped as shit.

Ok,so the president of the worlds ship gets high-jacked and ends up crashing on Pandora. So, they send in a highly trained former soldier turned criminal to retrieve him. BUT the criminal only has twenty two hours to retrieve the president because of bo-

Wait, sorry thats escape from new york...

I honestly don't know what it should be about, although i personally wouldn't mind seeing a prequel as to what happened when humans first arrived on Pandora.
