I don't understand the pony avatar hate. We like the show, and if there's something you like, there's a good chance it'll end up in your avatar somehow. Is it because you don't like being reminded of it?

I don't like avatars. In general. They're just big show-offs to make people seem important.
Also self drawn avatars are used by the biggest suckers. An example of such can be spotted on the right.

I hate any avatar that doesn't remind me of something. I really like avatars that makes me think of a show, or anything, really. As a brony, I like MLP avatars, because they make me think of a show that I know a lot about, and therefore are able to link that user to his avatar easily.

Actually, I have 2 positives and 2 negatives

Positives:
- Any Furry icons, I'm a little bit of a furry but I hide that fact from the haters and also I'm counting the Ponies as furies as well.
- Anything that has Canadian in it. What can I say, I love Canada

Negatives
- Anything Religion based, I understand that your proud of your background and believes but if you show me a cross or a bible, I think of you as a westboro baptist church member or a Glenn Beck watcher.
- Any thing Anti* (i.e. the No sign, any putdowns on the other side). It's OK to don't like something and I respect that but if you are a massive jerk about it then get out.
*Exclude: anything that that shown harm in the begging like AIDS, Cancer, Smoking, Drinking and Driving, etc.

I would have to say that pony avatars get on my nerves if only because there's at least 10 pony avatars per thread (No,I'm not hating on the show,what people watch is their business) Other than that,not many avatars grate me much.

This post amuses me, because Zero Punctuation and Extra Credits avatars get on my nerves, for the reasons you just listed, and also because it shows a certain lack of effort on the avatar hunt. No offense, but your avatar is what people recognize you by; you might want to upload one that isn't built into the site. Besides, the ZP and EC avatars are all pretty much the same; at least the pony avatars tend to be of different characters with different facial expression -- usually, anyway.

The only other avatar related bias I have is a dislike for people who don't have avatars at all, mainly because it makes their posts harder to keep track of.

At all of the anti-anime avatar people: I hope mine isn't too annoying. If it helps me look better, it's from an 80's anime, Which is basically Japan's Star Trek: The Next Generation; you wouldn't look down on me for a Captain Picard avatar, would you?

Seeing as how popular my first post in a month is, I'm assuming I just succeeded in conveying an idea.

What makes it look ignorant is the presumptions of he show itself, I assume. However, what makes me call it ignorant is that if it really is just a passing fad, such as the DBZ fad last Summer, then the show itself has become a meme. To me, it's no different then have cat demotivationals for your avatar, if that is the case. And if that is indeed the case, the people using them really have no feelings towards the characters at all and really just have the avatar because they think 'LOL PONY!!!!' which I call ignorance, because it's a much nicer word than stupidity.
