Geb watched as his tremors were successful, his lump of stone catching him off guard, as once again his augmented fist connected with the old man's face. Any normal person would be sent reeling from such a strike, but this was no ordinary man, and he was no ordinary bender. He was a Master, pre-emptively bracing for the impact, facing the assault head on.

It was then that he noticed the old man springing back towards him like a piece of bent bamboo, His head lowered as it impacted Geb's chest, the sound of his ribs being stressed reverberating through his body. . As he winced in shock, he was quickly met with another attack, as a pillar shot from the ground and immediately hit him in the lower abdomen, him being tossed into the air like a rag doll, unaware of the gymnastics his body was doing mid fall.

Astonishingly, he landed on his feet, his sandals seemingly finding the earth to cling to. He stood there wheezing, the pillar having violently knocked the wind out of him. Geb stumbled backwards as he caught his breath, not ready for the onslaught against him, a massive disc hurtling towards him at speed.

Reacting quickly, he brought up a wall from the earth, narrowly avoiding the disc which shattered harmlessly against the makeshift barrier, which was then projected forth.
Unseen by the naked eye, Geb sunk underneath the ground, burrowing at speed before resurfacing from the earth with a somersault behind Master Sud. Immediately shooting two pillars from opposite sides at the Old Master.

Master Sud raised a barrier of his own to block the barrier, the two of them colliding and cracking each other. He stood ready for a charge that never came, instead the young bender popping up from behind him, sending two pillars at opposing sides. He struck out with his fists, shattering both, and kicking out behind him, sending Geb tumbling, only to land on an upraised platform face-first. Shaking his head a moment, he looked up to see Sud standing over him.

"You did good kid, you're through. Now to wait for Asa to finish with the jumper over there and let everyone finish their little tussles."

He pulled the young Earthbender to his feet and set him down on the stairs he'd fallen into, just standing there.

A few minutes later, Sud tired of Asa's ineffectual attacks against Jin, as well as his unwillingness to fight back. No matter, the main point of these fights had been reached regardless on his part.

"Asa, he's through. Neither of you are going to do anymore than waste time."

The Waterbender sighed and returned the water to the barrels and pots scattered around, bowing to Sud.

"Yes, Lotus Master Sud."

As Asa finally halted her attacks, Jin slowed to a stop as well, bearing a slight grin even as he panted for breath. "Heh, not bad, not bad at all. Been a while since I had to push myself that hard."

Marching back over to his gear and pet, the bounty-hunter reequipped himself. As he tossed his cloak around his shoulders, Jin made sure to keep an ear open for Sud's next words. There was no denying that he was annoyed by all of these proceedings, but he'd already received a free night of food and rest. The least he could do was stick around and hear what these people had to say.

"And then, when I told him we'd drank the last of the tea, his nostrils flared out like this--" he generated a puff of air up his own nose to help illustrate. "--and stormed off into the forest!"

Monsin leaned back from his position, sitting calmly on the ground and cross-legged, and let out a joyous, booming laugh. The twins, however, were less amused. Sometime in the middle of all this fighting, the monk had begun to regale them with stories from his travels. As of that moment he was describing the tale of an old traveling companion of his.

"We didn't see him for three days! And--and when he got back--oh-ho, my goodness, he had a jar the size of a hippodile with him, chock-full to the brim with freshly brewed tea!"

The old monk wiped a tear from his eye, the nostalgia and the hilarity catching up with him. He bit down on his pipe, and took in a deep breath. The calming smoke poured into his lungs, and with a deep sigh the toxins were expelled out of his nose. The puffs of gray took on the shape of a simple rowboat, paddling off into the sky with the brush of a breeze to sail upon. He looked back over at the twins, and presented a broad smile.

"To this very day, I don't know where he found the leaves, or who helped him brew it! But by all I hold dear, it was the best tea I've ever tasted."

He looked up. Over in the distance, the shape of a bulky creature glided down from the heights, coming to a peaceful rest by his side. Monsin reached out to pet his sky bison, and Sab happily scooted closer to oblige him, laying flat on his stomach. The airbender returned his attention to those giving their all for the sake of these "tests", and smiled warmly.

"They're quite good, all of them. Fine young ones for whatever task you put them towards... I never knew Avatar Roku, you know." He gave a sort of flippant wave of his hand. "Actually, I suppose you probably would know. I was alive, and in the temple when he first came to train. But I never spoke with him; he seemed like a great guy."

He looked over at the twins, a curious look in his eye. "Is it odd? Spending your life dealing with separate people who are, at the same time, one?"

The monk thrust his fist forward, sending a fireball Kuma's way. He slid to the left to avoid it and regained his stance. Firebender. One mystery solved. Kuma advanced quickly, making quick dodges around the bursts of flame being fired at him. He opened up his first water pouch with haste and sent a stream of water towards the monk, but he merely dodged and struck a blow to Kuma's leg before jumping back to a safe distance.

Readjusting, Kuma formed a water whip and lashed it at the bender's chest. The monk blasted a fire ball at the whip to dissolve it and jumped kicked a stream of flames at Kuma. He had no choice but to duck under it and was hit by a fireball to the stomach as he went down.

Kuma was never happy about having a singed wardrobe. His expression went from lackadaisical and calm to an angered stare.

He patted the soot off his shirt and emptied the water of his pouch completely, forming a whip on his right hand. He formed a second whip around his left leg and began lashing wildly at the firebender. He continued to dodge the wild slashes, but Kuma was giving the monk little time to counter attack between each strike.

Kuma made a much slower sweep with his leg whip, trying to knock the firebender off his feet. The move was easily predictable and the monk jumped over it and let out a blast of fire with both hands. This was the moment Kuma was waiting for.

Before the whip passed completely under the firebender's legs, Kuma stopped bending it, simply letting it fall to the ground below the bender. Kuma rolled out the way of the fire blast and refocused on the water. It went from a puddle on the ground to a thin sheet of ice. When the firebender landed back on the ground, he slipped and caught himself with his hands. Kuma closed the gap and wrapped his other water whip around the firebender's arms. The bender sent out a fire laced kick but lost his balance on the ice a second time.

With the monk at his mercy, Kuma pulled both his arms apart with his water and proceeded to land jab after jab into the man's abdomen, leaving him breathless.

"Had enough?"

The monk could hardly get a word out, and only nodded his head tiredly. Kuma released his arms and recollected the water around them. He took his seat back with the other's that finished their fights and breathed deeply, letting the calmness flow back over him.

Daiyu took some time to watch the fights, noting glumly that no one seemed to want to fight her. Finally, she decided, "screw it" and pointed out a thin young man who looked like he'd put up a good fight.

"You! Up for a fight?"

Her would be opponent nodded. "Very well then, Miss? Shall we begin?"

Daiyu spat to one side before drawing her sword. "don't bother with that 'Miss' crap, my name's Daiyu Tseng, and don't you forget it!"

The young man blinked at her brashness. "...Very well then. My name is Chin." He eased into a fighting stance, and Daiyu did likewise.

"This is gonna be fun." Was all she said before she charged into battle with a wild cry.

Yeah... sorry for the lack of activity, I'll add more to this soon...

Anyone still alive? I'm worried CrazyGirl17 was waiting for someone else to post while everyone else was waiting for her to finish off her fight scene.

Senji had watched most of the fights, and decided it was the time to start asking his new monk friend questions.

"So, what's your name?" "Galmer"
"What's the job about?" "Sud will tell you"
"You don't talk much do you?" At this, Galmer punched the pillar Senji was sitting on, shattering it. "Please stop talking."
Senji ignored this, "So who's left?" Galmer sighed, "Your ignored female friend. Why don't we go back to the circle?"
"Hmm, Geb seems to be down, and I'm feeling better. Think I can fit a round in with master Sud?" At this galmer applied his palm to his face.

Whoops, sorry for the lack of activity, I'll have to make up for it. Be warned, I'm not very good at fight scenes...

Daiyu began her attack, unleashing bursts of flames at her opponent, who immediantly blocked it with a wall of earth. While he was distracted, she leapt towards him with her blade out.

Chin jumped backwards, nearly avoiding her blow.

"Nice moves," Daiyu said appreciatively, smirking. "Not let's see you avoid this!" She rushed forwards, and Chin had to run backwards, throwing rocks at her as he did.

Daiyu dodged the flying rocks as best as possible, determined to show off her stuff. Chin on the other hand, wasn't going to go down without a fight. Thinking quickly, he created a wave of Earth, knocking Daiyu off her feet and making her loose her sword.

"That was a low blow," she grunted, getting to her feet, "So let's fight fire with fire!" She fired a few more flames at Chin, who retailated with walls of earth before creating a ring of earth to cage her in.

Despite herself, Daiyu grinned. "So... best two out of three?"

Well, I did warn you...

Sorry for being so long without an update guys, the last few days have been kinda hectic is all, but I'm back....at least for the time being.

"Hmm, Geb seems to be down, and I'm feeling better. Think I can fit a round in with master Sud?"

Sud turned around and answered that question directly,"No, we've wasted enough time as it is. You lot think you've had enough experience to emulate this group?"

"Yes, Master Sud,"They all said in unison.

Sud sighed a bit as he shrugged his robes back on.

"Now,everyone, walk with us." Every Lotus member got into their garments and lined up, Rika and Rokka in the back, with Sud, who looked a bit the worse for wear, two large bruises on both sides of his face from Geb, and a tired look in his eyes.

"Now, to answer that question you've all got on your minds. We've been having...complications lately. Whoever's behind our problems also knows about our plans as well, but we believe we took care of them this morning."

They neared the top of the stairs leading into the mountain and entered, where a table and four individuals sat, five, as Sud joined them.

"I, am Grand Master of the White Lotus, Sud. Earthbending Master and trainer of the late Roku. You were brought here because of the hunt for the new Avatar and because it wasn't until a few short weeks ago that we encountered complications. Our students are meant to be your deco-"

"Sud, they know what is required of them, let them rest, they can head out tomorrow after we send the groups out." An obvious Air Nomad said over his cup of tea, eyes milky in the well-lt room,"Let the young have their lives, we will work out the logistics."

"Fine, Atar."

"Now,"A less than middle years woman dressed in the garb of the Earth Kingdom military started,"You each will share a room, boys and boys, girls and girls, no exceptions, we've got rules here, and we don't much care what you do when you leave, but this is a place of meditation, and we don't need any of your complaints. You can keep it in your pants for a night."

"Kalah, just be quiet, rules are rules for the new initiates, not-"

"I don't want to hear it Ping, they'll be treated like any new initiate while they're with us today."

"Can we just stop with the arguing for once? Kalah, you and Sud knew Roku much better than us, but let him go, he's gone, The Nomads have him now." A elderly woman said, process of elimination narrowing her down to being the leader of the Waterbenders.

"Agreed Kara," Atar said,"Do any of you have any questions? I believe I heard the steps of an Airbender, didn't I? Are my old ears failing me? It's always so nice to hear from home, are you of the Northern Air Temple?"

Kalah, the Earth Military Woman, fumed a few more minutes and then stood again,"Come on, if you want to get some rest, this way, now." Her tone left it in no uncertain terms that they either went with her or whoever didn't go with her weren't getting the same help the ones that followed her did.

As they walked with her, she filled them in a bit more, "Dinner's in two hours, get your stuff put away and wash up, you all smell like dirt and the road, and that's not something we get up here alot of the time. We'll set you up tomorrow for the Western Air Temple. If you want more answers, go talk to Atar or Ping, they always have the right thing to say."

They reached the hallway with the rooms and she pointed them out,"Communal males, left, communal women, right. You got lovers, get over it, you're not sleeping with them tonight." She turned about face and walked back towards the gathering hall, grumbling to herself and shooting angry looks at the ones that had followed her.

The rooms were spartan, but nice. Rows of bunks lined the walls, each turned down and comfortable. A series of boxes and drawers along a wall served as storage, and considering it all right now, there were no set sleeping arrangements, just simple beds and storage for everyone to use.

Daiyu was used to such bare essentials, so she casually tossed her bag on a top bunk, if only to mark it as hers.

"So," she said, "Where do you think the bathrooms are anyway?"

Kara followed Daiyu into the women's room after parting with the males of the party, setting her effects next to a bed. The room looked nicer than what she sometimes had to deal with, frankly.

"So," she said, "Where do you think the bathrooms are anyway?"

"I think they're in the back," Kara replied.

Chi waved goodbye to the guys before following Kara and Daiyu into the room on the right. It reminded her of the dorms at the institute, not that she spent much time there anyway. She was more used to camping while she travelled.

'Wonder how the rest will fare on the road.'

Her left arm was a little grazed and bruised from earlier. Now would be a good idea to sort that out.

"I think they're in the back,"

'Well, at least I don't have to ask where the bathroom is.'

Chi laid her belongings on one of the lower bunks before grabbing a basin of water.
She rummaged through her belongings, revealing that apart from a few jars, bottles, and scrawled notes, her bag only carried very basic belongings along with a few dried provisions.
After tipping a few drops from one of the bottles into the basin, she bent a blob of the resulting solution into the air and proceeded to clean out her wound.

I'm guessing medicine at this point in history is a bit hit and miss, so GM's discretion might be needed for more serious treatments.

"I believe I heard the steps of an Airbender, didn't I? Are my old ears failing me? It's always so nice to hear from home, are you of the Northern Air Temple?"

Monsin approached the elder monk, carefully setting himself down on his knees before bowing before the master.

"Forgive me, Master Atar. I come from the Southern Air Temple; my name is Monsin, and I am simply a traveling man lucky enough to be selected for the honor. I yet lack the experience of visiting the Northern Temple."

He returned to his sitting position, removing his pipe from a small pocket in his robe, carefully lighting it and taking a thoughtful puff.

"Though, if I may ask, what news has come from our homes? It is a rare opportunity, to meet another Airbender so far from the temples. And I have not heard from Monk Gyatso in many a year."

"You did good kid, you're through."

Shaking his head as he rose, Geb hung his head in embarrassment at being beaten, although he never expected to win against such a masterful adversary, he had hoped to at least reach a stalemate between the two. He gave a sigh; he sill had much to learn after all, and many more years ahead to learn it, perhaps then he would match Master Sud's level of skill.

After he rose to his feet, he gave a short bow that mirrored the one he had gave prior to the challenge, showing that he respected his opponent, honoured to have been defeated by such a living legend. There was a reason he had trained the Avatar after all.

Geb took to letting the members of the White Lotus have their say, explaining basically how they were providing the accommodation here at the Temple for the night, and that come morning the group was to head out to formally start their quest. As a middle-aged woman who seemed to represent the Earth Kingdom Military took lead of the speech, his attention was grabbed by a seemingly out of place choice of words.

"...this is a place of meditation, and we don't need any of your complaints. You can keep it in your pants for a night"

"...Say what? Oh come on! This isn't exactly an Air Temple, is that really necessary?"

Thankfully, another voice seemed to back his own, as Ping drew attention to the fact that they were not technically initiates, although in the end, the women always wins an argument, whether she is right or not.

As the group was shown to where they would be staying tonight, Geb led Coco by the reigns, bawking at the strange surroundings and people, earning many an angry look from Kalah, especially as she mentioned those who dared to even think of sneaking into the women's communal room, as Geb did.

"Dinner's in two hours, get your stuff put away and wash up, you all smell like dirt and the road, and that's not something we get up here alot of the time."

"I think it's only natural for an Earthbending to smell of his chosen profession. I wear my sundered clothes as a badge of pride!" he said with a smile, which only illicited an icy gaze from Kalah.

Hao left his bag with Mayuka; He..."exchange" the previous one for a bigger bag, the day before in Ba Sing Se. Now he decided he was going to have a look around. He ducked out of the group and walked into a large circular room with eight hallways. "Well this is clever, no matter which way I Go, someone will be able to see from the center of this room. Now- Hello, there.' Hao spotted a crate; the crate was big enough to hide someone of his size, with a nice sized hole to see out of. He turned the crate over...

"Hey!"

"Huh?"

....Only to find someone was already using it. The man was slightly younger than Hao with brown skin, dark black hair and green eyes, The clothes he wore dirty and filled with holes in various places.

"Piss off! This is my heist!" The man hissed.

"Un-huh, You're trying to sneak around an heavily guarded temple filled with damn near every single type of bender. Boy, that's some heist." Hoa remarked with annoyance.

"Yeah, and it'll be perfect if you woud. just. piss off. The man persisted.

"Get real, you're going to die in here unless,"

"In case you haven't notice? I had been here for days! I'm about to pull off my greatest heist! It will be masterful! It will be fantastic! it will be..."

"a disaster if you were to be caught, now I'll take it as a thief that you have a hold-out spot in case, you were ever...caught?" Hao, said casually.

"Of course I has one! It's in the kitche-...Oh no!"

"See? A prideful thief is worthless. Thanks for doing the hard work for me. Now, go somewhere and pick a easy target." Hao said.

He left the Theif, now cursing his name, and made his way to the kitchen.

"Stealing from a busy kitchen...this is going to be hard."

"Though, if I may ask, what news has come from our homes? It is a rare opportunity, to meet another Airbender so far from the temples. And I have not heard from Monk Gyatso in many a year."

The blind and wizened monk chuckled,"My child, I haven't been back to the Air Temples since I was a young man. When Gyatso, and I'll assume you as well, were still small children. I've spent my life in service to the Cycle of the Avatars, honoring their sacrifices and victories." He took a sip of tea, hands clasped around the cup almost reassuringly.

"The only news I've heard lately is that the search for the Avatar is afoot, but of course, you already know that."

_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

"I think it's only natural for an Earthbending to smell of his chosen profession. I wear my sundered clothes as a badge of pride!"

Kalah kept the icy stare and looked at the man's mount with a slight bit of distaste before wandering off, grumbles concerning Earthbenders and hygiene heard intermittently as she progressed back the way they'd all come. She did, however, utter one announcement down the hall, her voice easily reverberating off the stone walls.

"Just you remember dinner's in a a little over an hour, get your stuff out and get dressed, I'm tired of this babysitting. You can probably find it, three intersections down and to the right."

___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

"Stealing from a busy kitchen...this is going to be hard."

As it was, the kitchen was busy, busy enough so that Hao slipped in, more or less, unnoticed carrying a bag of flour with the rest of the initiates, though the fact that he didn't wear the same clothing caused a few people to stare. But not before being pulled back to work by a large, rotund man in the middle of the kitchen wielding a great wooden spoon that looked more like it belonged in a dye shop than as a cooking implement. That was before Hao saw the vats of stew and soup in the back, held over roaring fires tended by Fire- and Earth-Benders.

"You there, boy, fetch me a cup of water, a jar of honey, some radishes from the pantry, oh, and some fruit from the cool rocks. Go, go-go-go-go, you're an initiate, even if you aren't wearing your uniform today, in case you forgot!"

The head cook went back to stirring his spoon through a strange mixture of what looked like boiled grains. The pantry was easily recognizable, with the number of people streaming in and out of it making that apparent, the cool rocks, however, seemed to be harder to find, maybe it was behind the pantry?

Since it's a big part of your character, I'll just say that most ailments and minor injuries can be healed by your herbs without much effort, comparatively, on your part.

Kara watched Chi heal her wound, curious to see how Chi's healing methods differed from hers. "I haven't seen someone heal a wound quite like that before," Kara told Chi.

Senji followed them to the males room, plopped his bag on the bed nearest the door, and went to take a quick bath. He got out and dried himself off using some fire, went to the bed and put on his new fancier looking robe he bought on the way out of the city, as well as his usual pants and sandals. He then did his hair up in the usual Firebender style, and went out to explore the temple a bit.

I'll just wind up wherever story demands I be.
