Chi rounded the corner or the corridor, only to find Kuma throwing Geb into the women's baths.

Shortly after that incident and what followed, Jin and Monsin continued to speak with the elders, until a voice was heard through a series of holes about the size of their fists. The reverberations and similar holes were scattered throughout the temple, making it known to all.

"Dinner will be served shortly, proceed to the dining hall and take your seats."A voice said,"Get to the hall and eat, eat, eat!"

"And that, child, is our cue to leave, I hope to talk to you again,"Atar said when Monsin stood and left, continuing to listen to Ping's conversation, he then rose from his seat slowly, using his hands to guide his aged body,"I take my meals in our rooms, I hope that you can understand that."

"Well, that's that kid,"Ping responded, jumping up with the limberness that belied his age, flipping his long-stemmed pipe end over end, emptying the bowl into a nearby stone barrel,"Dinner's served, and we're not the type to eat with the rest very often, you want to talk again, come looking for us, I'll make sure Kalah doesn't rip you to shreds." He smirked and put the pipe into the deep recesses of his tunic before walking off with the arm of Atar grasped in his hands.

A voice that Hao recognized as the voice of the head cook, though much more embellished and commanding than before. The various members of the Avatar Team found their way through multiple means, some following others, others the noise, still others just wandered around and got lost before becoming found again.

The dining hall was a marvel just as the entrance had been, large, magnificent, and much more lavish than the sleeping quarters. A silk tapestry a dozen men tall and wide was decorated with the symbols of the four Nations, with the sigil of the Avatar connecting the four. The four tables each laden with food and each of the acolytes, some wearing the robes of the White Lotus, others simply wearing the clothing of the Avatar Temple, all mingling and talking, almost all of it concerning something called the "Equalists" and the missions being started the next morning.

Each of the group were shown to a special seat clearly marked for them, grouping them together with whomever they had fought hours before. They were questioned as they ate their full and were given their fill of exotic teas and clear, fresh Snow-Water.

The food was good and filling and the company, if not the best in the world, a few of the Acolytes weren't completely happy about losing to the newcomers their Masters had decided they were to cover while they went to find the Avatar before the darkness Roku spoke of.

Hao happily dug into the food, and was even more happy that the thief from earlier seemed to make good on his word to leave. "Ah, been a while since I had Duck." Hao said, as he pick up an Duck leg and bitten it. Hao turned to Mayuka...who was glaring at him.

"Did...I offend you Mayuka?"

"Yeah, just one question."

"Go ahead."

"Where. the. hell. did. you. go?" Mayuka said through gritted teeth. Hao merely rubbed the back of his head, embarrassingly.

"Well, um-"

"Um, what?" Mayuka pestered.

"Well, I was shopping."

"..."

"..."

"...That was a load of Boar-q-pine crap and you know it." Mayuka said, annoyed "Chances are, you were peeking on the girls during the bath."

"I was not, I was..wait, what?"

"Yeah, half the men tried to spy on some of the women; it was awful."

"...and I missed it!?"

"You seem disappointed by it." Mayuka noted.

"...a little. Still, I did managed to get you something." Hao said as he reach into his shirt and pulled out the blue Escrima stick. "It yours, along with some scrolls. When we get some time, I'll train you."

Mayuka stared at the stick, and nodded, "Thanks, sorry for the outburst earlier."

"No need to say sorry, just let enjoy the meal...and hope to the spirits that Head Cook dosen't remember me." Hao said.

After the monks had carted off the unconscious guard, Chi headed back into the bathroom, passing Daiyu on the way out. The baths were warm and inviting to the exhausted woman, and she collapsed into one of them, fully clothed, with a big splash. Dirt collected from her fight earlier with the earthbender slowly sinking to the bottom of the bath forming a layer of silt.

Before she could relax, she heard a loud rumbling noise throughout the temple, soon manifesting itself as speech.

"Dinner will be served shortly, proceed to the dining hall and take your seats."

"Urgh, if only that guard had a slightly stronger skull."

She made a rush-job of cleaning herself up, franticly scrubbing as much grime off as she could before leaping out off the bath. She bent the water out of her clothes, leaving them almost bone dry. Persuading her hair back into its pigtails was an easier job than usual after the assault she had made on it this morning, breaking one of the hotel's combs in the process.

Her journey to the dining hall was easy, having passed it several times whils trying to find the baths.

Chi made her way over to her seat, a little nervous about sitting next to her former adversary. Though she had tried to smooth things over earlier, he still seemed a little irate.

Guess he was putting on a brave face earlier

"So, I forgot to ask your name earlier." Chi smiled awkwardly.

"Tai. Can't you read the sign?"

"I picked up how to read not too long ago, but yes, I see it. I was a bit unsure though, thought Tai was a girl's name."

"It can be used for men too!" Tai replied, gruffly and defensively.

"Sorry, the only Tai I knew before was a girl, clearly not a... big... manly... intimidating... (did I mention manly) man such as yourself."

"It's a very common name! By the spirits, have you been out in the middle of nowhere all your life?!"

Chi was uncertain whether a 'yes' at this point would resolve the matter or make things worse. She opted to change the subject.

"Erm, so have you tried the duck? I swear it tastes just like possum chicken to me!"

Senjis' journey to the dining hall was easy due to his earlier exploration, but was uncomfortable next to his opponent from earlier that day, whom he was sure he had annoyed.

"So... Galmer was it?"

"Yes"

"Right, so how was your day?"

He grunted, "Not that great. Eat your damn soup."

Senji frowned and continued eating. He turned towards Chi, who also had an angry monk next to her. "Wanna switch?"

Daiyu quickly finished dressing and headed down to the dining hall.

"Wonder what they have to eat? I'm so hungry I could eat an Ostrich-Horse! ...Boy, that's a weird saying, wonder who thought it up?"

She giggled to herself at that thought.

Soon, she arrived at the dining hall, and happily sat down on the closest bench and began grabbing food off the table.

Kara had finished up her bath uneventfully and arrived for dinner, where she was seated across from her earlier opponent, Nishi, and next to Malik. Fortunately, Nishi and Kara seemed to be getting along better than others, even if pleasantries had quickly made way for business. Nishi had given a quick explanation about earlier, which only validated Kara's thoughts about all the mystery likely serving some beneficial purpose; then the questions started.

Kara quietly ate some meat dish she couldn't recognize (it was cooked very well, though) as Nishi filled in the missing knowledge she needed to be Kara's decoy. Though with the basics of Kara's role explained (and a quick way for Nishi to make her hands glow to look sort of like a healer if need be devised), the questions quickly got less substantial.

"Do you always use the cane?" Nishi asked.

"Unless there's a need for me not to," Kara replied.

"And the bandages, do you always wear them around your arms and legs?"

"Yes."

"And the hat as well?"

"Less often than everything else, but yes."

"And what purpose does the masculinity of your outfit serve?"

"WHAT." Kara took umbrage at that statement, and made no show of hiding it.

"Well it's just that... you look... umm, don't Water Tribe women usually have hair loops?" Nishi asked, trying to backtrack.

Kara sighed, her anger disappearing as she muttered something unkind about cat-owls.

"Ah, yes then. Well, if you excuse me, there's something I need to take care of for a second," Nishi said, stepping out for something or other.

"Wanna switch?"

"Wouldn't mind, but I'd check first!" she whispered.

She noticed Kara discussing tactics with her decoy.

Wait? Decoys?! How are they supposed to get a decoy plantbender? Chi panicked, silently muttering some of the more exotic and colourful explitives she'd picked up on her travels.

She quickly tried to get the attention of one of the more senior-looking waterbenders.

I have an idea about how to try and pull this off, but basicly want to run it past the gm (and in character) in case there's other plans or it's not that big a deal.

Senji heard Kara as well.

'Wait, decoy? Galmer?' he looked at him.

'He's not particularly skinny, or fire breath-y. How's that gonna work?' Senji shrugged and ate some more duck. "Hm, you're right Chi. Definately tastes like possum chicken."

Monsin was surprisingly quiet during their shared bath, which ticked Malik off a bit. He hoped to have a chat with the old monk but was turned down for a relaxing dip. On his way back Malik introduced himself to the others as he walked around naked, making sure not to expose himself to the young and impressionable women in the group. He dressed up for a simple supper and was surprised when he was seated in front of the woman he fought against. What was more surprising was the dress she wore - including the shallow cleavage and make-up. Malik raised an eyebrow at the sight of such a well dressed student in such a place and was wondering how the hell she managed to pull all of that off. Maybe one of the other girls helped her.

"Welcome... Malik, was it?", she asked sheepishly. Something was wrong, very wrong. The brave and decisive warrior which stood against him earlier that day was morphed into something else entirely.

"Malik, that's my name. What is yours?", he asked out of plain courtesy.

"Oh, dear... My name is Cassandra, nice to meet you!", she said in an upbeat tone, finishing with a lively giggle. Malik tried to ignore the pretty girl and get ahead to his meal, though he had to hold back in the presence of a lady and preserve some sense of manners. It was more than ten minutes of silence between the two that Cass spoke up.

"What's wrong with me?", she worryingly asked Malik. He again was perplexed to hear such a thing from a skillful bender, but if he could help her improve he would gladly oblige her.

"It's your stance, Cassandra. Yours looks more like the one of an earth-bender than the one of a fire-bender, you're too reserved, too-", Malik tried to explain himself but Cassandra stopped him in his tracks, "Why am I not your type? Am I not pretty enough?", she desperately asked him.

Malik was shocked to hear such a reaction from Cassandra. He stared at her for a few seconds before answering her with a shrug, "You're just not my type, I'm sorry Cassandra. You really are beautiful, you don't have to worry about that", Malik felt bad lying to her but he just wanted to get this event behind him. The girl pouted for a minute while Malik returned to his meal. She then leaned forward and caught him after he swallowed a spoonful of steamed rice and pulled him back to her, pressing her lips against his own and trying to convince him to carry along. More than a few of the eyes in the room were on the couple, and after the first shock Malik pushed Cassandra away.

"Ah, ah, no.. no! I can't, because... eh... I'm taken!", Malik then grabbed Kara who sat next to him and smiled at the dressed up girl. He felt bad for crushing her expectations, but he never was interested in her. He smiled awkwardly and looked back at Kara, wishing that she would just play along.

Kara was thinking about the situation while Nishi was taking care of her business. This is kind of an odd situation. I wonder how this is going to work, especially given that a lot of us haven't been matched to similar people, or benders of the same type. And it seems those two don't have any acolytes assisting them. They probably didn't expect our group, but they might be able to make it work.

Her thoughts thusly occupied, Kara hadn't expected Malik grabbing her, as she hadn't heard what he said. She looked between the acolyte and Malik, utterly failing to read the situation. Is there something wrong here? "Can I help you with something?" she asked, thoroughly confused.

The attempt seemed to work on Cass, but Kara's reluctance to carry the act almost blew Malik's cover.

"I was just telling this dear about us!", Malik had his hand over Kara's left shoulder and smiled back at Cassandra. "How I'm unavailable right now.. because I'm with you, dear Kara.", Malik turned back to Kara and smiled awkwardly at her, his eyes begging her to comply and carry the act.

"I'm... sorry?" Kara asked Malik, any deeper meaning to his words going clear over Kara's head. "Aren't you supposed to be helping her with being your decoy? I don't know you well enough to help with that," she replied apologetically. Kara did like to help people, after all.

Cassandra seemed to be furious. Only one solution seemed to be in sight - Malik had to make it look genuine.

"Oh you're so funny!", Malik exclaimed, "talking like that - you're so adorable". Malik pulled Kara away and landed a peck on her lips before pulling her back and smiling nervously at Cassandra whose face turned red.

This isn't going to end well...

Cassandra stood up and shouted at Kara.

"I challenge you for a duel, outside!", she shouted at the water-bender, sending a wave of fire above her head, almost burning her hair to a crisp. Malik slowly moved away on his chair and tried to get out of the splash zone, hoping that what he had created won't end disastrously.

Kara just sat there with a deer-in-the-headlights expression while all this happened. Cass announced her duel, and was about to act again when a scroll bonked her nose.

"NO!" yelled Nishi, who had just returned to see Kara getting yanked around and abused, then almost attacked for no reason. So it seemed to come down to Nishi to resolve things. "That is NOT how we treat our guests, Cass! That's a BAD acolyte!"

Cassandra continued to struggle against Nishi's clutches as well as another Acolyte, whether Lotus or Temple was unsure, but she was surprisingly strong for her small stature, holding back the Firebender easily before slamming her down onto the floor. She still struggled though and was soon joined by another Acolyte, the two carried the still-angered woman out of the Dining Hall, the rest of those present apparently not noticing and only giving a slight look as the three went by, followed by a fourth who had grabbed a few picks of food and hurried off.

Nishi spoke then,"Don't mind her, she's still new and has a thing against Waterbenders. Her family was attacked and left a bit disabled because of it. Don't ask too many questions, she won't answer them and we won't either. They are hers to give, and she obviously isn't going to tell the two of you anytime soon."

She ushered them back to their seats,"It's a good thing Folf, Harrec and Darren took a liking to her early on, otherwise she'd have probably killed someone in training and chores months ago. Now the four are inseparable most of the time, her first assignment is as your decoys and we'll see how she acts out there without their assistance. Judging from our little report on you, she has your flamboyance at the least,"She said, looking at Malik,"Which makes up for her not being a man, we hope. Her group is only a small decoy anyways, we hardly expect our "Equalist" counterparts to be fooled for too long."

"Monsin Senior?"
"We require your attention"
"It is of the utmost importance if you would come sit with us."
"We wish to show you something we have been working on for some time."
"And you are needed to test it out."
"So when you finish eating your fill."
"We ask on behalf of Master Sud that you come to us"

It had been the twins, Rikka and Rokka, both in simpler robes than before, but still as formal as ever. Sud at the end of the table held his face in his hands as they walked off and sat on either side of him, almost looking as if he were about to cry.

Tai looked a little uneasy over what was going on between Malik, Cassandra, and Kara. He ignored Chi's attempts at small talk and stared intently at the events unfolding across the table.

"So... you ever been to Taku? Wait... is something bothering you over there?" Chi asked.

"It's nothing importaint."

"You've been staring that long for nothin' importaint?"

"IT'S NONE OF YOUR... look, if it'll shut you up for five seconds, let's just say Cassie and I have a history. You should tell that guy she's coming on to that she'll chew me up and spit me back out... HIM! I MEANT HIM!!!"

"Know the feelin', made some bad calls myself... I was so naive back then. Still got lots to learn, even now."

"Same here." Tai seemed less cold for a moment before resuming his gruff manner "Anyway, you should stay away from her too! She has this... thing against waterbenders, even freaky ones using cowardly tactics. Weren't you gonna ask about the decoys anyway?"

"Oh, yeah! Sorry."

Galmer was keeping close attention to the situation as Senji obliviously ate his dinner. Galmer sighed, which drew a modicum of attention from Senji. He wasn't really interested in the situation, so he simply asked Galmer a question that had been on his mind for awhile.

"So, Galmer, do you have rock breath?"

"Umm... Excuse me?"

Senji sighed, "Some sort of equivalent to fire breath? They won't buy you as a decoy otherwise, whoever 'they' are."

"Equilists." Galmer said, "And I think I can fake it through smoke screens, which you seem fond of."

Daiyu watched as a few people were escorted from the hall, blinking. "Huh. Looks like not everyone here is so stoic." She said to herself, taking another bite from the chicken-possum she was eating.

Down the table, she could hear someone shouting, and grinned slightly.

Looks like I made a good choice in coming along, She thought. There's lots of interesting stuff going on to keep me entertained.

After the encounter had reached its crescendo Malik stared as his replacement was dragged away with the help of three others. He looked back at Kara and smiled awkwardly, hoping she wouldn't take what he did against him.

"Sorry about that, and... kissing you", Malik spoke in a hushed tone, "I was just caught off-guard and-", he smiled at her realizing she went through the same ordeal, "-and I guess so were you".

"I usually don't get around to this kind of meetings, whenever I see people I always treat them as my audience. I... I haven't had something like that happen to me in a long time", his face turned red out of embarrassment and it seemed like his attempts of remaining stoic were failing.

Having retreating to his room to change out of his now sopping wet clothes, Geb proposed the idea of going to dinner in the nude, although a nearby acolyte had presumably thought that such a situation had the possibility (especially that Geb was involved) to occur, and had pre-emptively laid out replacement vestments in the form of a spare set of the Temples robes.

"Dinner will be served shortly, proceed to the dining hall and take your seats."

Begrudgingly wearing the monk's robes, the garments feeling somewhat "restrictive", Geb made his way towards the dining room, the smells of the local Earth Kingdom cuisine wafting up inside of his nostrils filling his self with a sudden pang of hunger.

"Whatever the heck it is, it sure smells gooooood!" he announced to the rest of the hall, who had already begun eating the spread in front of them.

Geb plopped heavily into a seat in the midst of the females of the group, not sure which one to give the eye too at the moment, instead choosing to tuck into every kind of meat that was available, tearing at flesh like a ravenous beast.
