@Dr.wonderful:
Wasn't criticizing people for not doing it, just really surprised since most of my experience has been that everyone loves Airbenders so much any rp that involves Avatar that doesn't have giant blue cats or poisonous gas, or that hated James Cameron copyright, the thing is inundated with Air sheets. A bit of a mixed blessing on my part, since I love the concepts of Airbending more than any other, but kinda sad that there wasn't another one until the second page of sheets, but then again, I didn't have a huge amount of half-assed sheets. An older character in general pushed me over the edge too, because as much as I loved the younger main characters, you can never get enough of Iroh, Piando, Pakku, Tenzin, or Lin.

And the few non-bender sheets are nice for variety too, I'd like to have a mix of everything in this is all, and that includes sheets like yours and Pappy's.

Name: Chi
(looked up names, decided Vietnamese name meaning 'branch' would be apt)
Gender & Age: Female, 21
Concept:Foggy Swamp Style Waterbender (and to some extent Plantbender)

Appearance: Petite, with wild shoulder-length hair contained in two pigtails. Typical earth-kingdom appearence but with blue eyes.

Personality:Laid-back, easygoing, unfamiliar with urban environments/technology but very interested in it (despite often misunderstaning things). Slow to anger, but god help you if you do upset her!
Edit: Found a pic of an outfit
http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20101230131605/avatar/images/3/34/Femalefoggyswamp.png

Equipment:Spear (often used as a waterbending conduit) Can be thrown, jabbed, or used to deliver and block blunt melee attacks).
Blowpipe and darts
Coracle (tiny one-person boat, worn on the back when not in use)
Vines

Fighting Style: Prefers sneaking around before striking, often sniping with the blowpipe to daze opponents before moving-in. Uses plantbending for camoflage (think ghillie-suit rather than swamp monster) and vines for aerial work and tripping/tying up opponents. Doesn't know how to icebend yet.
Can heal using plant knowledge rather than using waterbending, but this is more suited for curing diseases, poisons, pain-relief, and cleaning wounds rather than healing wounds directly. Also has a knowledge of various poisons, which she uses in her darts.

Bio:
Grew up in the Foggy Swamp Tribe as a hunter. Chi could waterbend from an early age, using it to power her coracle through the water. Though some of the older tribe members wanted her to become a healer considering her skills wasted on hunting, she instead used these skills to augment her hunting, learning to create poisons and allowing her to occasionally patch herself up on the move. Her knowledge of botany made her wonder if her waterbending could be applied to plants.
Aged 14, after a particularly intense pursuit, her coracle had become caught-up in plants. After unsucessfully trying to dislodge it with waterbending, she discovered she could bend the plants instead, allowing her to disentangle the boat.
She continued to develop her plantbending skills, which led to her feeling a greater connection to the world around her. Sensing the greater lands beyond the swamp, aged 18, she decided to leave the tribe to explore the wider world.
New info:
After skirting along the western coast of the Earth Kingdom, she came across the herbalist institute at Taku. Initially unimpressed by her appearance, the academics of the institute soon realised that her knowledge of botany and tribal medicine, her plantbending ability, and her skill at traversing wild environments and fending off wild animals, would make her an ideal field botanist. She travelled the Earth Kingdom over the next few years tracking down rare plants to bring back to the institute. Though her easygoing attitude often helped her win over allies, she had to learn a few hard lessons about Earth Kingdom culture and streetsense.

Hope this helps a bit. Could be given a special delivery to Ba Sing Se if you want an easy way to bring her into the story.

Name: Sohta Wata Rigaeki
Gender & Age: 51
Concept: Earth bender. A traveler of the Earth Kingdom.

Appearance: 6'1", either wears of hangs off his neck a weaved hat (the stereotypical type). Image says the rest for me, except not so goofy all the time.

Personality: How much do you abhor cabbages? Sohta hates them, he's met someone who is eccentric about them. That man made him despise cabbages, this all happened about 30 years ago but Sohta still hates cabbages. (Theres ALWAYS a Cabbage Merchant, no exceptions). He's a realist, a bit of a philosophic type and loves tea. He's easy to love and tough to hate, just don't grate against him to long (His patience isn't endless) and you'll get along fine.

Equipment: A rucksack he uses for the traveling necessities (bedroll, food, tea). And a small belt knife.

Bio: "How one could ever live a truly fulfilled life hidden behind the walls of Ba Sing Se. To never see the world, is beyond me". - Sohta Wata Rigaeki being philosophical.

Sohta was a peasant living a very menial life when he was young. His family had a farm nestled in a large valley, it was nothing much. Just enough to keep them going. The whole family were earth benders, Sohta's father taught him, his two brothers and sister to bend. Working on the farm kept the brothers strong and disciplined as they advanced their training.
At 20 years of age he grew bored of the tedious life of a farmer, and his father had taught him to be a great bender. He loved his parents and siblings dearly but life on the farm wasn't for him, he had the itch to travel. With his fathers blessing he left to travel the world. The first place he visited was the great walled city of Ba Sing Se, typically the first of those traveling in the kingdom. He was very impressed by the giant walls, but the squalling outer ring put him off and he didn't stay more than a few weeks.

He traveled to all corners of the great kingdom, seeing many marvels of the old and ancient and meeting thousands of people (Though most of them he'd never remember obviously). He'd even been to the northern Air Temple. Assisting the monks in some repair work for one of the sacred temples buildings, saving it from collapse.

Sohtas longest journey off the largest continent was to the Fire Nation. The trip lasting just over three years and ending due to a love that could never be. It's a story he doesn't like to tell, he's still broken hearted over it and angry for why it ended. The end result is he lost his eye and his love. He always thought of returning to the islands to find the woman he loved, but feels it pointless because she's probably been taken by another in the long years past. Sohta just tries not to think about it now, dwelling on the past does the heart no favors.

Also so he travels on, working on his bending and whatever he is lead to.

Lol. The Hundred-Years War hasn't even started yet, Roku's just recently dead(three days at the most), and Sozin's just now started up the war machine after Roku told him "NO" a few decades earlier, so no one outside of the Fire Palace really knows about the movement starting up once more, and there's only a few dozen people that even know Roku's dead, and they're being held for "recently suffering a traumatic experience of seeing the Avatar go plop on the volcano", translation, Sozin doesn't want to waste the chance he has.

And this is running off of an altered timeline, so the PC's are going to come into contact with some important people and do some maybe important things. It all kinda depends on a few factors, but another Earthbender is always nice to have. You can have pets/companions too if you'd like. Probably something I should've put on the sheet to begin with, but hindsight and all.

Sorry for the bit of a ramble here, I'm a bit tired so I'll leave it at that.

Anyone still wanting in:
It's not too late to put up an application, I'd like to have a balance of benders and non-benders. So Airbenders are at 1, Earth at around 4 or 5, Water at about 4, and Fire around 4 as well. There's only two non-bender sheets I believe, and I'm looking for around ten people total when I make the decision in about 24 hours. Anyone that doesn't get in, I'll pm you why I didn't care for your sheets as much as others, so maybe you can improve upon them. Or better yet, start up your own Avatar rp! Make it LoK, make it so far in the future Firebenders are now sending rockets into space with the help of Airbenders and Earthbender engineers! Or way back during Kyoshi's reign and have her kill Chin(secretly the ancestor of everyone's favorite Cabbage Merchant).

And I'm rambling again, so I really have no idea what I just said, but you may or may not get the general idea...drugs are great things.

Your sheet, on the other hand, seems a bit strange. Yes, it's pre-war, and I don't remember if I put it in a post or not(so I'm not counting off points for that) that Sozin called off the "prosperity to the barbarians" movement because of Roku, but since he's dead now around twenty or thirty years later, he doesn't see anything keeping him from achieving it, so he's just now starting to gather everything again for that. Second, this is still a time of peace and harmony, no one has any dislike of any particular type of bender(other than personal grudges), and so he wouldn't be shunned for being a fire bender, just encouraged to find a master outside the water tribe because of the obvious reason being:
-They don't have any Firebending teachers at the Poles to amount to anything really.
All right, that seems easy to work around. I was going to do a few rewrites anyway since I had a few new ideas.

Name: Tiquana. Tai for short

Gender & Age: 23

Concept: Fire bender, raised in the northern water tribe. Self trained.

Appearance: Tai has the angular and defined face of a Fire-nation child, the sharp nose and high cheekbones are both present. His eyes are a deep blue and his hair brown, betraying his mixed heritage. Physically he is lean and quick, standing just over 6ft. While he lacks upper body-strength his still able to put up a fight, relying on his speed and precision to take down an opponent.

Personality: Tai is typically quiet but determined, friendly if you get to know him but sharp and harsh if annoyed. He's used to remaining at the side lines, ready to act but never the focus of the situation. He will generally treat strangers with hostility and takes a while to warm to a person, however once he has he remains a good friend and pleasant company.

Due to the strange nature of his upbringing Tai has always had a fascination with the other elements, while he knows that only the Avatar can control all three he see the benefit from learning from other nations.

Equipment: Typical Water-tribe garb. He carries no weapons but on his back is a Pipa (http://avatar.wikia.com/wiki/Pipa) given to him by his father. He also keeps a leather water pouch at his side to keep the look of a water bender.

Fighting Style: While he is a firebender, much of what he learns comes from the water tribe. His moves are slower and more focused, able to produce a flame just as powerful as traditionally trained firebenders. Due to his style of bending Tai is an incredibly flexible fighter, a skill that will only grow as he studdies the other elements.

Bio (This may change depending on the timeline. I'm assuming we're pre-war here): Tai's mother was a solider in the firenations army stationed in the small town of Shu Jing, his father a trader from the northern water tribe. While on a trip to the Firenation his father visited the town and met Tai's mother, one extended business tribe later Tai was born. The family lived happily in the town for three years before Tai's mother was called off to the assembling army of Firelord Sozin, eventually the force was disbanded. Tai and his father wated a year in Shu Jing, she never came home. Stricken, Tai's father returned to the north taking the child with him.

The next 15 years passed quickly, Tai's father had lost all interest in travel, the two remained in the Northern Capital, his father working as a inter tribe merchant. The northern tribe accepted him like one of their own, despite this Tai never felt like he belonged. The elders always acted with kindness and compassion, but the tribes children never quite trusted the pale faced outsider. When he turned 12 Tai's firebending became apparent and his distance from the tribe grew, the elders all agreed that he should leave the city and train with a true master; after all, a firebender in a city of ice isn't recommended.

Unfortunately by then his father had fallen ill, be it from grief or sickness. Because of this Tai was forced to remain in the city, caring for his father and practising his art. At day he would watch as the waterbenders trained, memorising their stances and forms, once night came he would practise in a dark corner of the city, copying what he saw. When he was 18 Tai's father died, leaving nothing tying him to the city, saying goodbye to the elders who cared for him Tai left the tribe to travel the four nations. His goal is to learn as much about the elements as possible, hopefully to better use his own. The past few years he's been travelling around the northern Earth-Kingdom, making his coin as a musician, trying to find a earthbender willing to train him.

I stand by the fact that children would mistrust him, given that they probably has never seen a firenation citizen. AS or the 4 nation thing, do with that as you will, personally its interested me ever since Iroh mentioned he learnt from waterbenders.

I noticed you sort of skipped over mine without replying. Was it so bad that it didn't even warrant a response? =(

Name: Euion (You-e-on)
Gender: Male
Age: 22
Concept: Born an Earth Bender, but raised in the Southern Water Tribe (see Bio)

Appearance: Shaggy but still relatively short black hair. Green eyes (Like most people born of the Earth nation), but has the more lean muscular structure of members of the water tribe. His regular cloths are those of the Southern Water Tribe, but will likely undergo a wardrobe change at some point.

Personality: Euion is a rather down to earth (pardon the pun) person. While Euion often loses sight of the larger picture he is extremely goal focused and stubborn when it comes to accomplishing those goals. Perhaps the best example of this was the first five years of Euion's attempt to learn Earth Bending. While he made little to no progress Euion kept attempting to improve at the same pace without wavering. Outside accomplishing his goals Euion is much more like his Southern Water Tribe brethren. While normally glad to simply follow the flow he'll often use humor, usually at the most inappropriate of times and of questionable quality, to alleviate tense situations. Above all else though Euion is curious to the point he often blindly walks into danger because something peaks his curiosity. A good example of this is when he discovered a nest of tunnel worms near the coast of Southern Water Tribe. While he obviously knows he was born to Earth Kingdom parents he considers himself solely a member of the Southern Water Tribe.

"If you can't go around an obstacle then just go through it". -Euion

Equipment: Euion always wears a plain (no design) arm band made of light clay like material around each of his forearms. This serves as a easy defense against light attacks as well as a useful source of bendable earth when necessary.

Fighting Style: Having been raised in a Southern Water Tribe village Euion lacked any Earth Bending Master to teach him more traditional styles of bending. While he tried to take inspiration from the Water benders around him the style ultimately proved too different to form any meaningful techniques. Ultimately he took inspiration from Tunnel Worms (see bio) and developed a style unique to himself. Instead of the outright power and aggression of tradition earth bending it relies on more subtle and intricate manipulation of Earth. Thus it is much less effective at raw attack power (launching boulders, causing large earth disruptions, etc). However it is much more effective at manipulating properties of earth, particularly density and more intricate movement of constructions. This allows him to give the illusion of "flowing earth" and a particularly strong form Earth armor. It appears similar Aikido in both form and philosophy with a strong emphasis of using the enemies movements against them.

Bio: Born to a minor noble family in the Earth Kingdom Euion was kidnapped as infant by a young couple of petty thieves for ransom. Euion's family unwilling to take the public shame of being unable to prevent their own child's kidnapping refused to pay the ransom and instead staged a health related absence and eventual fatality of their child Euion. The kidnappers, now with a infant that was only a liability, fled the city of Ba Sing Se, and eventually the Earth Kingdom itself. While desperate for money they did not have it in them to actually harm the child but also had no desire to raise them. Traveling for two months they eventually found themselves in a remote Southern Water Tribe village, and happened across Aurkia and Miako. Admitting to being wanted criminals of the Earth Kingdom they posed as the Euion's birth parents to the couple and offered the child to the couple for a proper upbringing. Aurkia and Miako having been unable to conceive their own child and now approaching their 40's were open to the idea. After being moved by the thief's fabricated tale they agreed to raise Euion as their own. Agreeing to part ways forever they left the child in the care of Aurkia and Miako but with a letter to be given to the child when his new adoptive parents thought they were ready to learn about their birth parents.

His upbringing in his small village was typical for a boy of the Southern Water Tribe. He learned to swim, hunt, sail, and fight. It was always clear that he was adopted from the Earth Kingdom to both him and other members of the water tribe, but he was never treated differently than any other boy his age. During his 10th year of age he and his parents learned of his affinity to Earth Bend when in a tantrum he caused a clay pot to crumble to dust from across the room. His parents lacking the ability to have him taught properly could only encouraged him to find his own way of mastering his bending. Over the next five years Euion tried in vain to develop his own style, and his efforts to incorporate the Water bending styles were even more fruitless. While he was certainly more capable than he was five years ago he could do little more than raise a small mound of earth to sit on, and only with great effort.

During his 16th year Euion was out hunting tiger seals when he happened across a large group resting. While he was preparing his spear he suddenly heard a slight rumbling which ended just as suddenly. It was then that the ground simply appeared to vanish from underneath a large segment of the tiger seals with only the cries of the now trapped tiger seals to ever suggest that they were their moments ago. Euion rushed towards the hole in time to see a giant Tunnel worm swallowing the tiger seals whole. Fascinated at the creature he had only heard tales of he began to follow. He tracked the creature for half a day through only the slight rumbles and vibrations that it gave off as it burrowed through the ground below. Finally he came across an underwater cave at the bottom of a steep cliff, an impossible climb for most but he was able to bend enough to form a makeshift footholds. Inside he found dozens of smaller tunnel worms roughly the size of a polar bear dog.

Over the next two years he studied this group of tunnel worms. He took note of how they took great care with their movements and precision while burrowing through the delicate ice, but moved more crudely, hastily, and forcefully while burrowing through the earth. Eventually he felt he had learned all he could from these tunnel worms and began to work on perfecting his already budding style.

It wasn't until four years later that Euion began to feel comfortable enough with his skill that he could call himself a master of his craft. Having spent the last 12 years of his life focusing on developing his Earth Bending Euion was at a lost of what to do. Ultimately Euion decided that he wanted to see the world with a particular interest on the Earth Kingdom and its Earth Benders. Having earned enough money using his earth bending to make extremely durable clay pots and selling them to other members of the water tribe he purchased a one way ticket to the Earth Kingdom. Before leaving however Euion's parents handed him a particular 22 year old letter to read.

I might post some alternative character ideas later if another Earthbender doesn't interest you.

Quick Question, what are the status of the Air Nomads at this point? I kind of want to do a Air Nomad Character (Jury's still out on whether s/he is an Airbender or not). The character bellow assumes that I am.

Also, this is my first roleplaying thread so I apologize in advance if I screw something up.

Name: The Sword Dancer
Concept: Air Bender/Sword User from Air Nomads

Appearance: Very lean and flexible. In his mid 20's Capable of doing great feats of acrobatics to compliment the dances.

Personality: Very polite, but prone to work around problems. Doesn't usually freak out, but gets passive aggressive when things don't go his way. Is currently wandering in an attempt to find spirituality.

Equipment: Twin Jian Swords and Twin Deer Horn Knives. More proficient with the Knives but is a better dancer with the Swords. (Google them to see why).

Fighting Style: Both sword styles are based off of Ba Gua Zhang, the Air Bending Martial Art.

Bio: The Sword Dancer was born into an Air Nomad Tribe. He was discovered to be an airbender at a young age and was sent to train. While he mastered the physical and philosophical skills with relative ease, his lack of understanding of the spiritual kept mastery of Airbending away from him. Still, as a young man, he began to implement air-style bending with sword dancing to create beautiful displays. His mentor sent him on a spiritual quest around the world in order to truly master Airbending.

Air Nomads are still thriving, Roku just died so Sozin is amassing his army but he hasn't invaded yet.

Yeh it works, though Air Nomads are very opposed to killing so you may encounter a few problems there.

I to have a question: How's this working content wise? Are we keeping to the safe for kids style of the show (which was still pretty mature) or are we allowed to sit around the campfire contemplating which nation is best in bed?

Oh, he doesn't kill. He's a sword dancer, not an assassin. He knows how to fight with the swords, but mostly uses them to dance.

Well, to answer your first question, the Air Nomads are still alive and strong, they've got all their temples and everything's hunky-dory. Now onto the sheet!

First would be your name, I'm not sure if you put it there as a place holder until you found one that you felt fit, or if that's his actual name. If it's the latter, I'm going to have to (forcefully) request that you change it to a real name.

Next would be that you left off the Gender/Age part of the sheet, but since you covered it in appearance there's not a demerit.

Now, Equipment. I get that you want to do the Sword Dance concept, but first would be the fact that the Jian swords you have are kinda a Fire Nation specific weapon, but I'll let that slide. In terms of canon, the world, and aesthetics would the "air swords" be more appropriate? Just an idea, not a request to change it to them. Your character, your writing.

Then you have your deer horn crescent knives...which I'm going to have to say no to unless you come up with a good explanation for having, since you either have to find a stag of sufficient length to cut them down, in which case if you then let him go, you might as well be killing him, or you're having to actually kill the (Avatarverse)deer to cut them out at the roots, both methods go against the Air Nomad's basic philosophy of no killing if at all possible.

The bio looks fine, since I always felt that the Nomad's had their temples on the mountains and then communities far below them where they drew Airbenders from outside of the Nomad-born ones, or something like that.

Now, another thing I forgot to add onto the sheet, but by the time I remembered it was too late and there were five sheets in already. You can have animal friends/pets/companions, but as an Airbender, it's a required field for your Sky Bison to at least have a name and gender. That's a skip on both my part and a bit less on yours. So yeah, pretty up the sheet a bit and you'll be moved to the considered camp.

Actually all Air-Nomads are benders, their race is so spiritual and small that they sort of developed that was.

Also can I get an answer on the content thing? Sorry if its nagging but it'd be nice to know.

Sorry, I actually meant to address that in your part of the last post, but forgot since I actually wrote up yours and the other guy's last.

In terms of content, think of old Disney, jokes on multiple levels for all ages, both innocent and lewd, but not enough evidence to say one or the other for sure. Yes, they'll be alcohol, but not in tea houses and most restaurants(there's a reason they're called "tea houses" and not bars, pubs, sake house, etc.) and the tea houses will be much more common, so it'll only be there if you go looking for it.

That seems fair. Are we on old Disney when it comes to violence? Given some of the things in ATLA and the end of Korra the show gets pretty violent.

Well, if you think about it, old Disney was pretty damn violent, but yeah, I'm letting that be up to the individual players in their posts, but mine will be all across TLA and LoK, from that kinda innocent stage at the beginning of Aibender all the way to the slug-fest it became in parts of Korra and the somewhat dark stuff near the end of Airbender with Katara and her little vengeance-sode, it'll be all over the place with mine, but player choice so long as their stuff is concerned.

Alright. I'll make a note to throw my brother off a cliff into a heard of stampeding wilder-beasts while his young son watches.
