The majority of you referring to ME are missing one detail: the Navi are more animal than human. It would be closer to furry porn than anything else. Most aliens are just different colored humans with minor details. The Navi really don't look human.

You can't appreciate a good story, judging by your posts you just want to see shit blow up.

Avatar's story was generic as generic gets. Criticizing someone for not liking a 'good story' when referring to Avatar is like criticizing someone for not liking 'good art' when referring to Where's Waldo. You may have a leg to stand on when talking about CGI, but story? Haw.

It was an interesting take on a love story, Jakes motives for joining the program in the first place.
That and the whole last hour was pretty far from generic.

basically after the first 30 mins i could have told you how the rest of the movie was going to play out. It was extremely predictably and the storey was very very similar to a movie that came out atleast 15 years ago. Look up Fern Gully, avatar is basically a complete rip off of that story set in space with some minor changes.

While I agree the story was predictable and generic if you're going to base a movie on how original it is than build a time machine because every god damn story has been told in one way or another. Trust me if you're going to nit pick, every movie in the past 50 years would either be a World War story or a Shakespeare play.

What you should be looking at is how the story is told. And if you can't look past that... well then... balls to you.

I saw this as well but I'm in Australia so it might have been different.
Also I saw it at a Dendi cinema and they seem to have more indie/uncut films.

I believe you missed something. She tried killing him at the beginning of the film because she knew he was an Avatar, but she only stopped because she received a sign from Eywa is it? I'm not sure on the spelling. Hence why the head of the tribe said "We don't allow them here".
