It was freaking awesome!!! Korra and Bo-Lin are my new favorite couple or they will be if someone has sense God gave a gnat.
I think its because in total they only lost two points the two times Korra was thrown out. Since the entire other team was taken out they lost three.MrMisfit said:I like what I see so far. Pro bending is a very cool sport though I curious about the rules ( the Fire Ferret team won a match even though they lost 2 out of three rounds). Great cast. I was especially suprised to see David "Bud Bundy" Faustino is playing Mako. He was pretty good. I look forward to see where this series will go
Look up a few posts, I wrote a bit on the rules. There's three 2-minute rounds, best of three wins, everything resets each round, but if you can get the entire opposing team out in a single round, you win the match regardless of how many rounds anyone's won.Shock and Awe said:I think its because in total they only lost two points the two times Korra was thrown out. Well, there were actually a lot of unanswered questions from the late series that probably should have been at least addressed. It seems this show is going to do that, but I don't think a mini-series was necessary.oddball250 said:i have to admit i dont like it. the first series was enough and brilliant as it was i just dont think theres a need for a new avatar series
I believe they intended to wrap everything up at the end of the first series, but due to its popularity, Nick contacted them for a sequel. So they ended up ditching a few concepts and epilogue style things from the final few episodes to leave some stuff to be answered in Korra.crudus said:Well, there were actually a lot of unanswered questions from the late series that probably should have been at least addressed. I was more thinking the writers strike got in the way of that. I had heard they planned of a fourth book (I cannot for the life of me find the source), but the writers strike put them probably a year and a half behind.Drago-Morph said:I believe they intended to wrap everything up at the end of the first series, but due to its popularity, Nick contacted them for a sequel. Ah right, It was called that where I come from.CrazyBlaze said:Mariakko said:I'm an Avatar: The legend of Aang fan?Lugbzurg said:What?Mariakko said:I'm a Avatar: The legend of Aang fan so I was already sold on The legend of Korra before I saw it. I think he means what is with Avatar: The legend of Aang. The title as it is commonly known is Avatar: The Last Airbender. Thought I am sure that what you called is another title for it somewhere.
OT: I loved it. I always loved how the orginal dealt with some pretty mature issues and I'm looking forward to this one as well. I do like that we don't have another naive main character. I liked Aang and all but his naivity sometimes rubbed me the wrong way.
i saw it more as poke'mon difference. it's different fighting in the field than it is in an arena. Also i have no idea what they're gonna do with it but Probending is supposed to be UFC to regular bending being a martial art.eventhorizon525 said:More on op; the pro-bending idea seems cool, but I hope they make it more interesting in future episodes - the ring layout seemed a bit meh, and the motions people were making didn't seem to really capture the essence of it all. I always saw the change in the landscape, and not just the fact people are shooting stuff at each other, to be the more interesting aspects of (fighting with) bending. The pro-bending showed all of none of that.
This is what worries me. the plot seems painfully obvious, fight equalists, seem to gain upper hand, they pull a coup or the fighting turns public opinion against benders, korra learns airbending comes backs fights and wins. the problem is defeating equalists with bending is going to kinda prove their point. and an entire series of korra performing public service in order to show what benders are suppose to do for society and campaigning to keep public opinion for bending just doesn't seem the kind of exciting show people want. I mean i would like it. but i don't think many others would.eventhorizon525 said:Other than that, it's looking good, though the plot points seem really obvious already (or they are setting up for a "surprise twist!" moment in an interesting way).
I missed bits and pieces of it due to RL. Are all of them other than Kitara confirmed as dead, or just not yet introduced? I know Aang was confirmed as dead, but it was also mentioned that he died kind of young because of the whole iceburg thing. Also Aang's grandson that looks exactly like him is adorable.King of Asgaard said:I liked the characters. The animation is gorgeous. The voice acting is spot on.
I found the city to be rather uninspired and bland. It seems to have copied every cyberpunk city ever, without giving it a personality of its own.
Also, was kinda bummed that the original party is all six feet under except for Kitara (the character I liked the least).
To quote Katara: "My brother and most of my friends are gone."Schadrach said:I missed bits and pieces of it due to RL. Are all of them other than Kitara confirmed as dead, or just not yet introduced? In the first episode, Katara says, "Aang's time has passed. My brother and most of our friends are gone."Schadrach said:I missed bits and pieces of it due to RL. I know it's not uncommon, but it is completely possible for two to still work together without the two clashing. I would know, I've watched thousands of hours of anime and even more of western cartoons. Legend of Korra does do this for the most part but it does look a little jarring sometimes. The main problem isn't quality but more to do with the style, they don't work well together at some points. This was generally more of a problem during the first couple of scenes. Once they entered the city I don't think it was as noticeable.armaina said:Also, it's not uncommon for scenery quality to be significantly higher than the animation, I see it all the time. But I also watch a huge assortment of cartoons. Need to keep the characters simple for easier animation. Also I think the animation quality in general is just superb, all the fantastic action animation as they've had before, just kicked up a notch. Noticeable heightened production quality all around.
"Most of". So they might not ALL be dead - and if done right, which wouldn't be hard, bringing back an old character much later on in the series would make for a good story, and I don't see why the writers would rule out the possibility of them deciding to do that - but Aang and Sokka, yeah.King of Asgaard said:In the first episode, Katara says, "Aang's time has passed. I might not have quoted it perfectly, but that's pretty much what was said.
So yes, the old party is long gone.
I doubt they're going to make it so cut and dry - I see a lot of potential to explore some moral quandaries with the Equalists, and I'd be a little surprised and disappointed if that wasn't explored. I mean, it seems pretty obvious at this point that both sides have valid points, I doubt they'll avoid acknowledging that - although I also fully expect the Equalists to cross the line that makes it pretty clear who's in the wrong, but if it's handled well that doesn't mean the story will lose any potential depth.rayen020 said:This is what worries me. the plot seems painfully obvious, fight equalists, seem to gain upper hand, they pull a coup or the fighting turns public opinion against benders, korra learns airbending comes backs fights and wins. the problem is defeating equalists with bending is going to kinda prove their point. and an entire series of korra performing public service in order to show what benders are suppose to do for society and campaigning to keep public opinion for bending just doesn't seem the kind of exciting show people want.
