So his weapon is also earthbent? Wouldn't it be more of a club then? Or does he form some sort of sharp earth sword?
Also for the second part of your bio, what do you mean by rumors? Do you mean the rumors of your own people who live near the city?

One of the main things though, is you kind of need to generate a reason for why your character would leave his current position, because if it's just for hired pay, I'm not sure how I would implement that.
It has an edge, though you won't be splitting any hairs with it. Being made of stone, the blade will be heavy enough that the force behind it will do the cutting. They won't be invulnerable either, if I end up hitting a good chunk of plate or some equivalent object they'll break. Same for the shield.

And woops, looks like I accidentally deleted a part of it with realizing. I should probably also mention that, while honorable, his family also has connections to the seedier part of the world.
Ah okay, I was wondering if you had missed a line or two there xD

Name: Kajiya

Gender: Male

Age: 21

Bending/Fighting Style: Fire Bender/Chi-Blocking

Other notes on abilities:

As a result of his studying, Kajiya's fire bending doesn't rely as much on hard and fast strikes, and is instead a more graceful and flowing movement, allowing for more variation in the style of moves he can perform. Of course, when forced to fight, he can mix up his moves with a combination of both fire bending and fast chi-blocking strikes.

Ultimate: ??? (No idea of one at the moment.)

Appearance:

Kajiya's eyes are the expected golden colour common in most members of the Fire Nation, albeit with a slight difference that there is a small section that is an amber colour. He stands over 6ft in height with slightly broad shoulders yet a muscular build due to his years as a blacksmith, though his training in the art of chi-blocking has helped him develop his agility and acrobatic skills. Has long dark brown hair with a copper coloured tint to it that is tied in a ponytail.

Equipment and Clothing/Important Items:

As a sword smith, Kajiya carries with him a set of tools with him so he is ready to perform his craft if needed. As for clothing, for the time being he is wearing a set a traditional Fire Nation ensemble comprised mainly of dark red robes accented with yellow and gold in places accompanied by some armoured knee-pads of his own design. There is also a non-descript set of clothing bearing the marks of no one Nation in particular, though he is saving these till there is an opportunity to defect from the Fire Nation. In addition to these, Kajiya also carries a flute with which to play music.

Pets/Mounts: Akuto the Fire Ferret

Personality:

Kajiya can be a hard person to describe at times, he has the hard work ethic and dedication of someone associated with his craft; but also possesses the mentality and sagely wisdom akin to a scholar. Enjoys meditation during moments of free time, as it allows him to focus his mind and abilities whilst also being able to think more clearly on a problem.

Born In + Nation or Origin: Ember Island, Fire Nation

Current Location: Fire Nation Outpost near Taku

Biography:

Born on the resort locale of Ember Island to a father who comes from a long line of sword-smiths and from a mother who was once a high ranking officer in the Domestic Forces before an accident led to her early retirement.

Due to the distance there was between Ember Island and the mainland, when Kajiya was of proper age and had began to show signs of fire bending, most of his education was done at home on the grounds of the family's estate; this had the effect of his mind being not as rigorously moulded by the nationalistic ideology that was at the forefront of many other schools within the Fire Nation.

Aside from the standard subjects, Kajiya also practised the art of the forge, with the idea being that he'd one day become a master smith in his own right just like his father. As he grew up and entered his early teenage years, Kajiya developed an interest in the art of Chi-Blocking, having in read about it in one of the handful of history books he had access to, and saw that it could compliment fire bending well. He sought training in this technique from his grandfather, who he heard from his parents was something of a master in that particular field. Problem was that he didn't live on Ember Island with the rest of the family, so for the first time in his life, Kajiya left home and headed for the mainland.

When he arrived, Kajiya experienced something of a miniature culture shock, as the Fire Nation mainland was more militaristic than he had first thought. After meeting up with his grandfather and settling in, the two of them began to work on Kajiya's training in chi-blocking. It was hard at first, given Kajiya's slightly bulkier frame than what it was accustomed had meant his strikes weren't as fast, but he eventually developed a natural rhythm to it. (Granted, he still has a ways to go before he can perfect it.) This training has also helped develop Kajiya's flow of chi, allowing greater control over his fire bending.

Whilst staying at his grandfather's residence in the capital, Kajiya also had access to a much larger library of books, and during periods of free time away from practice, he would read deep into the many history tomes; it was here that he came across a revelation of sorts. It was through reading history of the world and that of the Avatar where Kajiya learned about how the world and everyone in it was connected metaphysically to help maintain balance.

Kajiya had heard of plans for an invasion of the Earth Kingdom from a member of the nobility when he and his grandfather had to attend an important social function; though the noble in particular referred to it as a "sharing of the Fire Nation's prosperity with the rest of the world" at the time. Whilst they had tried to cover it up with pretty sounding words; Kajiya knew that an invasion such as this would cause a great imbalance to be inflicted upon the world.

It was here that Kajiya decided he would defect from the Fire Nation in order to help maintain balance. Of course, he couldn't do it right then and there, given the severe distance and military presence that existed within the mainland would mean he'd be brutally cut down before he could do anything. Instead he would bide his time and waited patiently for the opportunity to strike.

To ensure no one would be suspicious of his loyalty to both the Nation and the Fire Lord, Kajiya decided to sign up with the military, where he could put his training and skills as a swordsmith to use. When the first assaults took place, the detachment of soldiers that Kajiya was with were sent to set up a outpost within the Earth Kingdom. During the voyage he had found a Fire Ferret that had found its way into his equipment, causing trouble in the process. For some reason Kajiya took a liking to the little furball and decided to keep him.
Cool, looks good.
Did you say he had knowledge of the comet or no?

I had never really thought about it. Could be that he has knowledge of the Comet, but doesn't know about its fire enhancement capabilities.

Name: Anish

Gender: Male

Age: 19

Bending/Fighting style: Airbending, Chakradhaari

Other notes on abilities: Anish's particular style of Airbending is much more aggressive than the traditional, evasive style as taught by the Air Nomads. Similar to Fire Benders, it relies on the use of overpowering force and lethal blows so as to secure an early victory.
Anish also incorporates the use of a Chakram [https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/d5/b7/10/d5b710bb95d0aac35016df1f12575a12.jpg] into his fighting style. With its aerofoil design uses it to supplement and enhance his attacks with Airbending, whilst also being a formidable weapons in his hands in its own right.

Ultimate: When faced with overwhelming odds or a sense of impending failure, Anish becomes overcome with a bout of manic bloodlust, a state in which he is capable of forming a localized tornado with a throw of his chakram that can devastate all its wake, with no regards to the surrounding area. This extraordinary feat requires time to build up the vortex, comes at the price of temporarily exhausting his Airbending, and often leaves his choice weapon beyond his grasp until it is retrieved.

Appearance: Relatively tall for an Airbender, Anish stands at just under six foot, with medium-length black hair that falls over his face in bangs. He has pale skin well-weathered from travelling, with true grey eyes and a scar across the bridge of his nose where he was hit by a stone as a boy. He sports the traditional colours of the Air Nomads, with a short-sleeved orange tunic tied with a yellow sash tied across his right shoulder and waist, coupled with brown pants and red knee-length split toe boots.

Equipment and Clothing / Important items: Aside from his coveted chakram, Anish also carries a glider for transportation, as well as a monk-style straw hat which he wears to avoid prying eyes.

Personality: Used to being alone, Anish is aloof to most who know him, adopting a haughty persona when talking to those he considers as below him. He dislikes getting involved in petty squabbles and is incredibly stubborn regarding most matters, however once he dedicates himself to a task he will direct all of his effort until it is accomplished. He is incredibly loyal to friends, uncharacteristically kind to children, and partial to gambling of any and all sorts.

Born in + Nation of Origin: Northern Air Temple

Current location: Taku City

Backstory: Anish was brought up in most the same way as all airbenders, raised by the Air Nomads at the Northern Air Temple and instilled with their values of pacifism and spiritual reflection. A sickly child throughout most of his youth, Anish was largely passed over by the other children in favour of others when it came to playing or working as a group. As a result of this, Anish came to regard those around him with quiet disdain, instead choosing to focus almost solely on his studies and scholarly activities rather than participating in the joyous play that the rest of his fellows incorporated into their own training.

Over time Anish proved himself to be a highly capable Airbender, showing a particular aptitude for feats of agility or finesse, as well as being seemingly adept at sensing disturbances through currents and vibrations in the air, to the point of being able to catch a fly blindfolded. However, despite his apparent skill Anish was often chided by his Elders for his temper as well as his resistance to adhere to the Nomads' pacifist ideology.

At the age of fifteen Anish had passed thirty-five of the tiers of Airbending when the Temple was visited by a travelling merchant by the name of Xu. The merchant explained how his caravan had been beset by bandits who had ambushed them at a mountain pass not two miles from here. He ashamedly recounted of how he ran at the first sign of trouble with as many wares he could carry. Presuming that the rest of his company were now dead he recalled rumours that the Air Nomads made a temple within the northern mountains their home, and that if he could make it there he might find some respite.

Despite the man's gruff and cowardly nature, the monks were gracious in their hospitality of the traveler, giving him food and lodging until he had recuperated. Anish, curious of life outside the temple, grew fond of the traveler, who often recounted tales of far-away cities and the wonders of boundless freedom. Anish was especially intrigued about the people of the Fire Nation, whom Xu spoke of in both fear and wonder, that had grown to be a powerful force due to their military might.
When the time finally came for him to leave, the merchant called for the young boy, gifting him with a brass discus-like object called a "Chakram" he was told belonged to a sect of Fire Nation warriors.

Anish practiced night and day with the weapon, determined to invent a new Airbending move that incorporated its use and earn his mastery tattoos. After demonstrating his newly lethal techniques by eviscerating a statue in front of the monks, Anish urged them to eschew their peaceful ways in favour of emulating the Fire Nation, to learn and conquer through force. The Temple Elders, unable to deter Anish from his destructive path, saw fit to banish him from their order, fearful that his presence would be a corrupting influence on the rest of their students.

For years he wandered the Earth Kingdom, taking odd work where he could, eventually being discussed of in hushed tones among mercenary circles as "the monk without a master", or even sometimes affectionately known as "Wind Shear". Whilst passing through the trade city of Taku, Anish heard word of a Fire Nation advance alongside rumours that the Avatar, a young airbender from the Southern Temple, had vanished amid mysterious circumstances. Feeling a pang of regret over his past and a resurgence of values instilled in his subconscious, Anish vowed to return with the Avatar as a way to contend with his past transgressions and as part of his duty as an Air Nomad.

Pretty much. By manipulating the air currents surrounding it he can pretty much use it as a super sharp boomerang (think Captain America's shield), with the benefits of being able to combine it's use into certain moves. i.e. air shields, air blades and the like.

By the way I'd appreciate your feedback on his Ultimate. Are its power/drawbacks acceptable?

The only problem I have with it is it seems that he can do it on que, when it's supposed to be something triggered, and beyond the users control, at least in the beginning the user has not got control over it.
Because if your character could do something like that on que, he would already be a master airbender, which he isn't meant to be at the start of the rp.

Name: Lupin Verd (I'm bad at coming up with names... Will change if required)

Gender: Male

Age: 20
Bending/Fighting style: Earth Bending, Shield and Sword adept

Other notes on abilities: Only extremely basic knowledge of general earth-bending techniques,
however, he comes from a long line of those who have perfected the art of using their bending to arm and armor themselves. (Fights like he's a normal soldier, instead of a bender)

Ultimate: N/A

Appearance: Short and stocky with black, buzz cut hair and brown eyes.

Equiptment and Clothing/Important items: light brown pants with a tan shirt, he also wears a bronze
amulet with a stylized fist on it. (The Riot Games fist, cause I'm original!)

Pets/Mounts: N/A

Peronality: Confident in his abilities, he is still wary when going into situations when he has
been briefed, and downright cautious when he has no information at all. While prideful, his
training allows him to keep a cool head during battles.

Born in + Nation of Origin: Family homestead 10 miles south-east of Gaoling.

Current location: Goaling Market

Backstory: Lupin comes from a line of mercenaries that have done everything from espionage to front-line combat. While not widely known, they are known within certain circles as exceptional assets, for the right price. As family comes and goes, they spread across the world, creating small homesteads that are self-sustaining during times when jobs are hard to come by. At these homesteads, which are big enough to to house a few families, and are also where the children are trained in the arts of war when they turn ten. The training, though quite extensive, starts small and grows as the child does.

Lately there have been whispers that war may be coming, so his father has sent him out look into it. Starting in Gaoling, he hopes the merchants have heard some of these rumors as well. Once he has learned something solid, he'll report back tot he family. After all, information is just as valuable as soldiers when it comes to winning a battle.
Just incase you were still interested, I have decided to decline your character sheet, due to not believing it will fit into the rp.
If you are still interested though, send me a pm and maybe we can get some flaws or new ideas sorted out.

This sounds fun, I'd like in :D

Name: Bo Tarak
Gender: Male

Age: 18

Bending/Fighting style: Air Bending

Other notes on abilities: A former fisherman, Bo knows how to fish, sail, and tend to fishing nets. Also a very strong swimmer (the sailing took a lot of trial and error to master).

Appearance: Bo is short (5'4) with shoulder length black hair and black eyes. Bo wears simple brown homespin pants and a lighter tan shirt. Bo's height, hair, and being a little flowy at the hips makes some think him a deep voiced her at first sight. This isn't particularly helped by the unisex bracelet he wears.

Ultimate: Shredding Wind- In moments of rage, clarity, or despair Bo can summon a a hurricane strength gales comprised of many cutting gusts. Everything caught in the gale suffers hundreds of cuts comparable to heavy sword strikes. Bo can move these gales and even ride them if he needs to move. Bo can keep this up for a few minutes but afterwards is left tried, weak, hungry, and rather horse from all the screaming. Said screaming keeps him from using Shredding Wind in anything close to a stealthy manner.

Equipment and Clothing/Important items: Bo has a well made backpack with a survival knife, small hatchet and camping gear. he wears a bracelet made of fishing net line on his wrist, a reminder of home.

Pets/Mounts: None

Personality: Bo is moderately friendly but tends to keep all but close friends at arm's length. He'll give you a smile and a handshake but won't buy the first round.

Born in + Nation of Origin: Wabo, a small village on the southern Fire Nation coast.

Current location: West Earth Kingdom

Backstory: Bo was a surprise to his family of fishermen. For three generations the Tarak family had no benders born into it. Not a single spark on the tree. Sure the family started as the offspring of a village girl and a rolling stone...but who'd of thought that stone an air bender. As Bo's air bending started to manifest his family tried to keep his skills secret, only allowing him to bend far out to sea or deep in the woods. When war with the Air Nation started, Bo left his village to avoid the draft and eventual discovery.

Wondering the Fire Nation as a vagrant, Bo copied the movements of Fire Benders, developing a quick sylte of air bending, using the air as knife and extension of his strikes. Bo's travels eventually lead him to the Earth Kingdom where he heard about the search for the avatar. Feeling a need to flex his new found freedom and improve his bending skills, Bo began looking for the search team on the west coast.

The main problem I have with this is that someone is already making an airbender, and due to the small size of the group (at this time), I can't see two airbenders getting in, which means I'd have to choose one or the other.

But as far as your actual character sheet goes, there was never a war with the Air Nation. During the start of the rp Sozan's Comet (which started the war between the fire nation and the rest of the earth), is still yet to pass, in the series the fire nation used the power from the comet to ambush the air nomads and wipe them out.
Also your ultimate should only really come from one emotional response, as it's supposed to be used very rarely.

I'll redo the origin and super but there are only 4 elements so there is going to be some overlap. Would a lightning user work?

Well lightning benders are skilled fire benders who have inner peace "Lightning generation is the ability to generate and direct lightning. It requires peace of mind and a complete absence of emotion." It's not like in Korra's time however where there are a lot of people that can do it, only masters and prodigies are able to generate lightning. If you wanted to lightning bend it would either need to be in your backstory to have you be able to do this, or more fitting to the rp if you start as a firebender and come to learn your ability to generate lightning.
This link would probably explain the requirements to generate lightning better http://avatar.wikia.com/wiki/Firebending
And I know there's only 4 elements, but there's not a large amount of character sheets, so having two of the same fighting styles in a group of 4/5 is kind of boring.

The Ultimate is nice, the fact that it's a danger to everyone, makes it a lot more interesting.
For your Current Location, I hope you didn't just put it near my character for the rp :p because the point is the group will travel and the members will join relatively one or two at a time. If it's just because you saw it fitting he be there, then that's fine.

Whoops, didn't see that. I just didn't notice any other particularly large settlements outside Ba Sing Se near in the North of the Kingdom :/ Happy to change if you want.
By the way, got a time-frame of when you expect to get things started?

Been a bit since I was in a forum RP. May as well try this one.

Name: Isamu Darzi
Gender: Male
Age: 19
Bending/Fighting style: Fire Bender
Other notes on abilities: No weapon skills, though he does have a very basic training with his spear. He's mastered a rare technique with fire bending, Flying! He prefers keeping to the air when he's able. A lot of his style seems to take after air bending.

Ultimate: His tattoo isn't just for looks. Given complete focus and a few seconds, he can create a powerful laser from his fist, one that can punch through even steel. If it does stop, it's usually in an explosion. If it can even start up, it always runs into the problem of the path- that is, the tattoo- possibly getting obstructed. This can cause his arm to explode, usually taking the rest of himself in the next couple of seconds. The focus and average 5 seconds it takes to charge it is a great window for an enemy to exploit.

Appearance: A small and quick man, standing at 5'6 with a build like a gymnast. His skin is tough and tanned, from working close to fire near his entire life, though perhaps lighter than most despite. His eyes are also brown, and wider than most in the fire nation. He has his dark hair swept back, only reaching his shoulders, and usually messy considering his air time. He either is very good at staying clean shaven, or simply can't grow a beard. His left arm wears a tattoo nearly like a nomads, though shaped like a long scarlet dragon rather than an arrow, jaws open on the back of his hand.

Equipment and Clothing/Important items: His clothing changes with location, but he does lean towards the color orange. He'll keep to his fire nation soldier armor for the most part. He carries a standard issue spear, though it rarely ever sees its intended use, being used almost like a nomads glider. He rarely wears shoes if he can help it, quickly burning out the soles when forced to.
Pets/Mounts: A messenger eagle-hawk named Curry, short for Courier.

Personality: Confident, passionate, and with a great love for life. He's arguably far more like his mother the air nomad, but his patriotism and respect for society and the law does show he's his fathers son. His mind seems to move at a thousand miles per hour, and sitting still usually requires the help of some rope and a heavy anchor. He dislikes violence, but his training makes him an effective enough fighter, preferring to end his fights quickly.

Home: Fire Nation Colonies
Current location: On his way to the Southern Air Temple.

Backstory: The son of an Air Nomad mother and an admiral in the Fire Navy as a father, Sam got very mixed reviews growing up. He ended up being more of a mothers boy growing up, his father always finding some odd job to keep himself busy. When he was 9, he accidentally set his rose garden on fire with a kick. Suddenly, his father took a massive interest in the boy, taking him as a sort of apprentice. Grooming him for military as well as teaching him the basics, Sam still tried to spend time with his mom. He took an interest in her bending, copying her styles and seeing if he could combine them in some ways. For the most part, this went terribly, but it did give him a better understanding of what fire bending could actually do.

When he came of age, he signed on with the military, though he was growing increasingly concerned with where the nation was going. Militarism seemed more important, the glory of the fire nation began to trump their ideals of unity. He was an outspoken opponent of these changes since the start, often earning the ire of his superiors. When he heard of their search in the air temples, he volunteered to go as well, intent on trying to keep violence to a minimum. As he looks around, seeing war machines and armed soldiers, he fears he may be too late.

Really? I thought I'd seen you around a bit, can't have been too long ago.

As for the character, I like the idea of it and the backstory, the current location also fits in really well with the story.

Can you better explain how he's able to fly? Is it like Azula, blasting fire to power his movement? Or something completely different? Because the ability needs to be realistic in the avatar realm.

For his ultimate, it should moreso be something that he doesn't have full control over, or maybe he could come to control later on. I assume this hand tattoo is similar to the Combustion Bending technique however?

Name: Durjaya

Gender:Male

Age: 24

Bending/Fighting Style: Earth Bender/Sanshou

Notes: His extensive physical training involving going long periods without bending in attempt to build physique lets him use his raw brute strength to amplify his bending abilities. His brief stay at the Northern Water Temple gave him opportunities to observe the Water Benders in action. As such his Earth Bending has elements of water dancing involved as a personal experiment. His extensive disuse of Earth Bending means that he struggles with advanced techniques despite delivering tons of raw power behind his moves.

Ultimate: In his most extreme moments of desperation, Durjaya stomps on the ground and causes the ground in front of him to act as a giant wave. AS the wave looms over his enemies, it splits apart and crumbles on top of them. Creating an artificial avalanche and terraforming the Earth.

Appearance: 6 feet tall, muscular as a result of his physical training, Sports long hair tied into a ponytail alongside a long goatee, His face is rugged and dark skinned, his hands are worn with extensive uses, calluses formed on his hands and fingers, He has a large physique and toned arms, His body shows that he has never experience a battle that fully tested him.

Equipment and Clothing: Wears dark green uniform with short sleeves and a backpack containing essential belongings, wears a black bracelet on his left arm, a red belt tied around his waist, no shoes or gloves, a farmer's hat to keep a low profile and keep the sun out of his eyes.

Pets: None.

Personality: Gruff at first but possesses profound wisdom and knowledge of the world from his extensive travels and experienced teacher, Values keeping the balance of the world intact and learning what affects that balance, takes a great interest in the cultures of the world outside of the Earth Kingdom, incredibly pragmatic, does not believe in personal honor or glory, Sees reliance on bending a weakness and abstains from bending outside of training or combat.

Born in: Ba Sing Se, Earth Kingdom
Current Location: On the road less than a mile outside of Taku City

Backstory: Born to a family of Earth Benders, Durjaya was sent off at the age of 6 to live with an old Earth Bender living in the wild named Bipin, his Father's teacher. During his decade of training he learned from Bipin that Earth Bending was an extension of one's self, it was not to be used as a cheap tool or weapon like how many used it. Though Durjaya spent 12 years living with Bipin until his death he was hardly taught how to Earth Bend. Instead he trained himself physically during the day learning the basics of Sanshou and at night reading about the other elements and their benders. Training with Earth Bending was only performed once a month with no practice time in between. Durjaya had to prove he understood the concepts before he could apply them in combat. With this method Durjaya took months to learn what normal Benders learn in days but he would master a technique the moment he used it.

After Bipin died, Durjaya left the estate to follow in his master's footsteps and travel to every corner of the world and live off the land. Vowing to never return home to Ba Sing Se until his mission is complete. Most recently he has visited both Water Tribes and has just left the Northern Tribe. His new plan is to journey south to the Southern Air Temple, and learn what he can about their culture and the Avatar despite his recent disappearance.
