...could it?
I think that calls for a *wink*.

I'm still playing the game since day 1. Why the hell is everyone basing their opinion on a game they havn't played on a demo with only one game mode and 9-month old code?

I'm enjoying the game tons. There's flaws, yes, but you can easilly overlook them. The game's made for multiplayer as well, anyways, so don't be surprised if the campaigns are weak, they're also short considering they had to work on three seperate ones.
Short campaigns? Made for multiplayer? Are we talking about the abomonation that is Section 8 all of a sudden?

I enjoyed the multiplayer demo on the PS3, despite poor connection on the servers

The PC port is an abomination, however. Controls are counter-intuitive and silly

Ah must say this is my first blog realy about games but yes epic fail was rather over kill for this game.

Will get the hang of it but thanks anywho. Most of the time now it seems a pain when somthing comes out that realy needs to be better. Unless you are steaming it or otherwise your paying about 40 pounds (or equivilent) for this stuff.

Its what i expect from game companys and all of there hype but now and again theres a game i think......must be good and worth the money. I no doubt am a very generic buyer....new game.....seems like my thing .....i think id like to play it.

Pritty simple yet usualy is not. AvP ( the new yin) i thought wasnt a epic fail my fault for the crappy form name. It just wasnt good.

I dislike playing MP demos and immediately deleted the demo after realizing what I downloaded.

For AVP I'd want a good single player, if that's not there then so be it.

No, the game was awesome EXCEPT multiplayer.
If you replay AvP2, you'll see that most maps are the same ones you play as the other races.

Why are people crying so much about this game?
Realy if you just said the avp 2 maps are the same as this one (as in you run throught the same places) you need a spot check my friend.

I admit yes some of that game was the same maps. They were complex enough and had 2 make you change your tactics it diddent feel like that so much. Oh and avp 2 had areas that well out weighed what this avp has for each species. There is no individuality for each species except a few grates. This avp has an obvious use of every small map they designed to reduce the amount of work and money spent so that every species you play GO ON THE EXACT SAME MAP.

Right down to busted grates you see as a marine that the alien uses. I can see what there doing....saving money, time and the motive to use there (very well paid) creative minds

I've finished the Marine campaign and tried a few levels as the Predator and Alien. And it just isn't that much fun. Sure the Marine campaign is hilarious as you run in blind panic from a pack of Aliens whilst you reload, but the other campaigns didn't do it for me.

Also the multiplayer has major problems, mainly lack of host migration, so if you kill the host and he has a hissy fit and leaves, the game instantly ends.

Had that exact thing happen last night Species team deathmatch. Lagged the whole game with predators then got 2 the very end being at the top then 20 secs before the match ended some geek rage left the game.

Okay, I like the game (and you can disregard my advice at any time, as I'm a self-confessed AvP nerd) but it's not as much a piece of crap as a lot of reviewers have said.

Okay, it has a few bugs (notably a failure to transfer rank between consoles for multiplayer) and it feels like it's missing a few things (Again, the multiplayer, with it's rank system and variety of skins, almost begs to get some CoD-esque perk system.) but while these are annoying, the game is extremely good in a lot of areas. Compared to most games, they've pulled off first-person melee very well, and each race feels unique and useful in it's own way.

AvP has no fatal flaws, but sadly lacks anything that truly lifts it into the realm of 'amazing games'. In the end, it comes down to if you like the series, and how willing you are to deal with a few annoyances.

In the end, it's all a matter of taste.

This is my stance.

People judging on the demo alone is rather annoying, that's like judging a pizza when you only try the crust.

Sounds less like a game issue to me and more like a player one, I've had that problem too. But since that I generally just host so my friends and I don't have to deal with that.

The problem for me is that the entire concept of AvP sounds good on paper, but frankly, I never found the Predator to be that exciting. Of all the Alien or Predator movies and all the games, nothing has the sheer "awesome" of good old Aliens (note the s; Alien was meh, Aliens was awesome). For me, the best game would be a pure Aliens game, taking place in space/on ships/colonies recreating the entire squad based Aliens experience of a Colonial Marine. No stupid Predators. No bullshit jungle locations. Just pulse rifles, big ass heavy machine guns on cranes, and Aliens. All the claustrophobia, none of the pretentious crap.
Then Aliens Colonial Marines (Gearbox Software) will be right up your alley.

Also, i'm gonna say now that the new AVP game is better than the old ones, but that's just my opinion.

i've not played the previous avp games but i'm really enjoying this one, found more entertaining than many other fps games on sp i've played recently and if you find a multiplayer game with people using mics and are not douchebags or friends the game really becomes intense online. then again as many have said it's apparently a love or hate game.

Oh god, nothing could be worse than those abominations. I mean you get two godly franchises how the FUCK did they manage to stuff that up. I'm so fucking pissed at you Larry!
Its easy. You make one into a generic Pg-13 action movie. Then you make the other into a generic Horror movie. Add some shitty acting and a lame plot and you sir are home free.

THANK YOU.

Also kinda iffed about it, because the campaigns have some sequel potential, but thanks to shit-stain reviewers, it probably won't happen.
