That wouldn't explain why the regular levels are hard and you die a lot in them.
My twisted logic just makes an assumption that flow-breaking deaths of your character are acceptable in regular levels, but not in the finale, because finale is supposed to be GLORIOUS and EPIC and CINEMATIC and whatever.

MW2 on veteran was a tad taxing, but the final level in the speedboat race was just so simple, and the thrown dagger virtually aimed itself.
More to the point, it doesn't let you miss. If you try and throw the knife elsewhere, it just doesn't do it.

I don't see what's wrong with what Fable II did. I lawl'd at the ending pretty good. Then I played through 2 more times.

I think Batman: Arkham Asylum was the worst, simply because even if it wasn't the absolutely easiest final boss, it was certainly the lamest. EVER!!!

Borderlands boss was piss easy! i just hid behind a pillar and fired a couple of rockets and it was dead! I went through all that shit to kill it in about 2 minutes :/

I would probably have to say the first Fable final boss was way too easy! all i had to do was keep summoning those sword thingy's to help attack those minions then just lay shit into the guy and he was dead! complete let down!
That entire game was easy, All you need is 3 basic spells and you can literally defeat anything. Also, you can buy a sword thats better than the sword of aeons in a store!

I don't know exactly why I keep on beating it on my spare time. Probably subliminal messages.

anyway: I am more annoyed at bosses not being bosses because you spend the entire fight fighting minions/soldiers and end up killing the boss as easily as you did the minions/soldiers.

Boss battles in general tend to be disappointing in so-called "realistic" games, because giving a normal human an inordinate amount of power and resilience just shatters the willing suspension of disbelief. Unless you take Crysis's approach and allow a single thrown barrel to kill anything. Then boss fights become hilarious.

Rayman 2's final boss fight was brilliant, though. I'd recommend the rest of the game too. 'Tis a rather refreshing break from headshotting for me.

Mass effect, ok so I have to fight this guy zipping around on a hoverboardwhose shields recharge like crazy? Ok done, oh wait, now I have to fight him again in a tiny room and he has lightning attacks now? WTF?

Haha he shouldn't even be considered a boss, he won't hit you and it takes maybe one or two swings with a sword or even a lonely fireball and he will fall over.

Every boss fight in Arkham Asylum was a dissappointment. Except for Bane, there's not much depth to be had in his encounter.

I think Starfox Adventure easily wins this thread.

As for a good game, well...

I've said it once and I'll say it again:

Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time had the most pitiful excuse for a final boss in any game I've ever played.

Seriously, Ganondorf is supposed to be the epidamy of all evil. He's the ultimate form of pure hatred and everything wrong with the world, yet I beat him without getting hit once.

Fucking Bullshit
Have to agree with this, I found Volvagia even harder than Ganondorf. He seemed pretty hard the first time round but you adjust to all his moves in no time. Also the light arrows work anytime which makes it almost the easiest boss in the game.

I have recently started Master Quest and I am hoping they improved him.
