The Bob Moyer Big Band. An internet cookie for anyone who knows about this group without searching the internet.

Shinedown, which I am convinced is composed entirely of gods masquerading as mortal men. Also, Timeless Miracle, a blazing, brilliant meteorite which rocked my world and then fell (broke up).

Mirrorthrone. Its a one-man-band but he's really good. He sings, plays guitar/bass,and handles the drum programming.

People haven't heard of it because not many people listen to avant garde or black metal.
I know of Mirrorthrone. :)

OT: Nivathe, a side project of the infamous Senthil. Really fucked up shit.
Circle of Dead Children. They might be well-known outside of here, but inside...
Ea, a relatively unknown funeral doom band.

Rhapsody Of Fire. The chance of someone knowing this band is the same chance a crap team would tie with Argentina

I offer up Bobaflex, simply because ive not seen them listed yet. Great band, weird evolving sound. I suspect most people have not heard of them because even though they do tour nationally they are a more regionalized band along the eastern seaboard and mid to mid northwest.

Sample: (its a live performance so audio quality is low, because its not even been on an album yet.

I can only think of one band. That would be 80kidz. So far, I only know of one other person who has heard of them, and that is because they told me about them. But everyone here? Nope. Not a single person I know has heard of 80kidz.

Punk: Crass, Reagan Youth for it's name alone, and it's probably well known, but by god Black Flag deserves mentioning for being old-school awesome.

The bands that made me realize the greatness of metal: Sleep, Electric Wizard, High on Fire, Bongzilla, The Sword, Whores of Tijuana, Kyuss, Jex thoth, Earth (specific song would be Engine of Ruin), The Melvins, Boris (Japan), Om, and Cacophony (featuring arguably the greatest shredding guitarist of all time, Jason Becker).

rock: Acid Mothers Temple (admittedly an acquired taste) , Blue Cheer, Butterfingers (australian band), Fu Manchu, Nebula, The Atomic Bitchwax, Screaming Trees, Mudhoney, Captain Beefheart, Canned Meat, Frank Zappa, and Velvet Underground.

Rap: Immortal Techinque

freaky alternative emo: Android Lust

I have listened to every one of these artists and have affected me profoundly over the years and would stand by these artists as purveyers of good goddamn music

Muse. Oh wait, all these wannabe American fans learned about them, and now they suck.

I swear I was the first Yankee who knew about them.
Muse has always been popular in America. Im a "yankee" and I have always known about them.

The reason Muse sucks is because they are trying too hard to get on the radio...
I completely agree with you. Their songs use to not really cover one topic, but by all the fame they were getting it seemed like, "Oh shit, what do all young people hate? Oh right, the government". Remember Knights of Cydonia? What the hell did that song even mean?
Yea well Muse's lyrics were never the best, even Matt once said that he hopes people don't pay too much attention to them XD
