Name some awesome bands that no one has ever heard of. My favorite band is Mindless Self Indulgence. I love them. I think what really draws me to them is their unquestionable uniqueness. They specialize in the bizarre and as the topic suggests, they are totally unknown, at least they are totally unknown anywhere remotely close to my residence.

I've only heard of really popular bands. The least famous ones are probably Melanie, Dungeon, Team Teamwork, and James O-L and the Villains. Like I said, really popular bands.

i approve of the first and the last. and MSI is well known to the people that know them, theyre kind of a specialty fit...

Tarot and Lights are two that I can think of. I know of a couple here that have heard of Lights, but no one else has mentioned Tarot from what I've seen.

This thread was done not even more then a week ago.

But the whole premise of the thread is flawed as every band is known, be it at least to their friends and families, tho the bands that will get mentioned here will mostly all be on one record label or another, now if they weren't known apart from just you or a very few people they wouldn't be on a label, and wouldn't be making records.

Not to mention I've, at the very least, heard of every band already mentioned cept one

Yeah honestly. People who listen to certain kinds of music may encounter MSI. Thing is at least where I live musical discussion sounds pretty much like "Did you guys hear the new Lady Gaga song? I added it to my U2 and Kanye West playlist".

Me and my bestfriend love MaSu but no one around here knows who the hell they are.

If I was going to be a little more obscure I would say, enter shikari. The only truly obscure one I could say is The Reverb.

Streetlight Manifesto. I love that band so much but no one I know seems to have ever heard of them untill I make them listen to them in my car all the time. American Sixgun is another band I never hear anyone else listen to but I'm not sure if there well heard of or not.
