War of the Monsters, it was a 3D fighting game were 2 monsters faught, it was so damn awesome.
I HAS THAT GAME, TIS MADE OF EPIC WIN JUICE! On a more ironic note, Psychonaus. Now a serious one, Omega Boost for PS1, wish I could find the soundtrack for that.

p.s In war of the monsters, the best guy is either Konga (100 hit combo) or the lightning dude, use special attack, run, use special attack, run use special attack etc.

THAT IS THE MOST AWESOME GAME EVARR, AND I DARE YOU TO DISAGREE WITH ME!
Me and my friend played the demo for several days straight, we haven't bought the game, but we will, and then we'll waste millions of years on the PS2 again. :D

Star Wars: Dark Forces (1995 - PC)
Great Doom-clone but this was back in the day when "doom-clone" was somehow a pejorative term and people couldn't like this game for what it was, i.e. fun blasty shooter that immerses you in the star wars universe with all the music and even 16-bit iterations of John William's score. You really felt like Han and Luke shooting your way through the Death Star.

Alien Resurrection (2000 - PSX)
I suppose maybe it was dragged down along with the reputation of the terrible movie but no, this was a really good console shooter that was perfectly moody, and was a real survival horror 1st person shooter.

Star Fox Adventures (2002 - Gamecube)
Well it was for the gamecube, that in itself means it hardly got any attention but no this was one of the last GOOD games by Rare only they basically made a Zelda game out of the Star Fox franchise only imagine replacing Epona with star-fox style space battles.

Platform releases people ignore:

Resident Evil 4 on gamecube = looked SOO much better with real-time lighting that added so much to the mood, it came out 6 months earlier and was cheaper than PS2 version but no, PS2 gets all the attention because *gasp* it had an extra costume! And a new storyline that was 90% recycled levels! Gamecube got shat on from such a great height to spite all the hardcore games... I'm beginning to understand why Nintendo have abandoned hardcore so much now.

Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess on Gamecube = yes, again the Gamecube release is completely overshadowed by the version released on the higher selling console. Well the GC version came out earlier, cheaper and was far better as the Wii version had the world flipped to a mirror image to work with the frankly tacked on Wii controls

Except for the thrice-damned sewer level, which was just an exercise in monotony.

Why is it always the bloody sewer level?

Holy crap, I had that game. Never did manage to get an A rank on level 11. The arena mode was the best with friends.

The same one I've posted on multiple threads of the same nature (search bars are a wonderful thing)

Legend of Legaia
The first game to use the name Vahn for a main character and the combat system was cool, I still remember left, left, down was Hyper Elbow. Legaia Dual Saga and LoG 2 exist somewhere

I've never heard anyone other than myself talk about:

Culdecept Saga
Colosseum: Road to Freedom
Crush, Kill, Destroy
Mr. Do!
Extermination

I don't know whether or not anyone has ever heard of these titles but I do know that they're not talked about much.
Oh, cmon. Everyone knows Mr. Do! (aka Dig Dug)
They're the same game? I always hear people talking about Dig Dug but I've never played it. However I played a crap-ton of Mr. Do! as a kid and never hear anyone mentioning it. Makes a lot of sense now. Thanks for clearing it up for me.
They're not the exact same game, but the two are so similar that having both of them in existence is redundant. Mr. Do! was the one you could get on the Colecovision, whereas I think Dig Dug was more common on the Atari platform.

While they seem to be fairly well known on this website, I rarely meet people who know of the following:

Beyond Good & Evil
Future Cop L.A.P.D.
Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver (such an underrated series)
War of the Monsters (Like the Godzilla games but awesome)
Earthworm Jim
Sacrifice (one of the best RTS games ever made)
Crash Team Racing
Armed & Dangerous (Not the best so far as gameplay but had some of the funniest lines ever)

Oh, and Okage. It saddens me like nobody played that game, Evil King Stan was awesome.
I have Silent Bomber.

And Streets of SimCity like someone else mentioned.

Hydro Thunder went from being everywhere to being never heard of, but now most people know about it again for some reason.

lol. I thought that too, but it was more of the boring "I've seen this thread many times before" type thought.

OT: Super Baseball 2020. I played that game to death.

Dark Cloud 2. I know some people on this site know of it, but almost none of my friends have ever heard of it. I'm very grateful to the friend that plays it for introducing me to it, because I love that game.
Holy crap I LOVE that game. One of the greatest RPGs ever in my mind. That and there was so damn much you could do in it.

OT: Megaman Legends series was highly underrated. Hmm Jumping Flash? Rosco McQueen. Blasto!
That's all I can think of right now.

Many have heard of it but it's far from as famous as it should be:
Okami for the PS2

I've yet to meet a person who's played or heard of Glover outside of the kid who introduced me to it back in elementary school. Haven't played that game in years though.

Edit: Almost forgot to add that I don't know if anyone but me would consider Glover awesome. So yeah.
Is Glover the game where you play as a glove and throw balls around?

Growlanser: heritage of war.
BEFORE you look up reviews and say it sucks, look up videos instead. I found this game to be amazing and think it should belong in every rpg fans collection.
as well,

Breakdown
on the original xbox. Possibly the best fps ever made, and for some reason never sold.

Illusion of Gaia: An amazing game similar to Zelda in many respects, but was such an amazing game with great setting, story, characters and sound track was exceptionally amazing for the SNES era.
I came in here to post this.It was called "Illusion of Time" in Europe though
