I'm pretty sure that type of bacon is known as "Canadian bacon" in the USA. Try asking for that next time.Lyri said:Honest to god I have no idea.Verlander said:I noticed that watching epic meal time. What is it with yanks and crap bacon?
My girlfriend came to England to visit and one morning I gave her a good old fashioned bacon and egg sandwich.
Now she bawls whenever I mention bacon and the fact that she can only get belly cuts (aka streaky) in the USA.
I spent 3 months there recently, breakfast just wasn't the same.
We even took up Bacon quest; to find purveyors of back bacon but nobody sold it. Butchers were even confused when we asked for back bacon.
"You mean the offcuts from the meat?" That was a legitimate answer one such butcher gave us.
You can get uncured bacon, although it's harder to find. You may have problems with the preservatives.Erana said:I like chewy bacon on BLTs.

Yes, "Canadian bacon". Which, while good, is not at all the same as the regular bacon we eat in the U.S. You can also try "capocolla ham" which is very similar, but a bit spicier I believe.busterkeatonrules said:I'm pretty sure that type of bacon is known as "Canadian bacon" in the USA.
