Final Fantasy XI was a stab to my heart, but after thirteen games and dozens of knockoffs, how can I expect the fun to last forever?
Zelda: Phantom Hourglass would have been one of my favorite handheld games if not for that moronic idea in which I had to traverse each dungeon level -that I had ALREADY SURPASSED- just to get to the next part.
The new Alone in the Dark held so much potential... Although, upon reflection, every game following the original were several kicks to the lungs.
What I am about to say were not bad, per say, only a bit of a letdown.
Silent Hill 4 and Origins. Silent Hill 4 was not originally a Silent Hill game, of course, and as such, I believe that it is a good -NOT GREAT- game with the 'Silent Hill' name tacked on, thus making it a bit difficult for the Silent Hill fans to digest. (Although, I did enjoy the storyline...) I have yet to complete SH: Origins, (just bought it and am currently in the theater.), so forgive me if I make a mistake, but I fail to see why people condemn it to the fiery pits of Hell. Sure, the storyline is weak, and The Butcher is just a cheap knock-off of Pyramid Head, not to mention the fact that they followed the movie and made Alessa seem evil instead of a tragic little girl that I can sympathize with, but overall, I'm having fun. Isn't that what videogames are about?
Apologies, this appears to have changed into an Origins review...
