A bad sequel? Mass Effect 2 was CRAP. The plot was good, but they turned a perfectly good RPG into a pretty 3rd-person shooter.
While I agree with you saying they turned a perfectly good RPG into a pretty 3rd-person shooter, I don't agree that it was crap. I think a better word for it is mediocre, crap would imply it's not worth even a single play through, whereas mediocre would warrant a single play through but not anymore since its just the same shit over and over.
This. I played ME 3 times through with different decisions and classes and I can't finish my 2nd playthrough for the life of me.

Mercenaries 2. Not the sequel Mercs Playground of Destruction deserved. Anyone thinking of playing Mercs 2 just get the first one, not kidding, it's miles ahead of the second.

Yeah, I have like 4 half played games for ME 2, but have played the first one like 5 times and just started a 6th time through. the Mako is awesome, they should have never gotten rid of it.

Thanks for killing one of my favorite games. RA2 was really fun and cheesy when I played it way back when. RA3 sucked. Damn why did they ruin them.
Well if you played red alert 1 and command and conquer 1 you would see why red alert 2 was a big drop in quality in comparison.

Those games were mainly about the campaign playing, RA 2 did get a decent Multiplayer following as did generals. But they sorely lack some half decent campaign. Which any self-respecting rts would have their majority of time invested into.

Well Honestly I think the RA2 campaign was really fun. I did mostly play multiplayer for cnc and red alert.

Modern Warfare 2. Even people who weren't that interested in MW1 were disappointed by this.

I like the Firewalker better, but I'd have loved to take it off the linear courses they give you.

Intializing Horrible Campaign!

Russia Invades America with BLIMPS, lots and lots of blimps. And they get totally owned by them? Their jetfighters must have a hidden treaty with all blimp fairing vessels Cmon...

Yuri uses a telephone to counter americas missile silos. Why not just do that to the president?

Yuri looks like a scarecrow and is highly unlikable, Who was played by Kain ofc in the 1st game.

The voice acting is just appalling. Might as-well get children to do the russian accents.

And well the C&C is history after that.

Devil May Cry 2. Makes anyone cry.
This! DMC2 was a crying shame for everyone.

I don't know if Far Cry 2 counts since the first one had about a billion different releases with slightly different names, but if it does, that game was definitely a load of crap.

Even though I love L4D and L4D2 I can't help but think that I barely played L4D2 as much as I played L4D, still a brilliant game though it just wasn't as good as the first one.

Lost Planet 2 (Single Player) - What complete tripe! The first game honestly blew me away and even the whole thermal energy tick-down never bothered me. Overall it was just an amazing experience that was marred by its sequel. Gone was any semblance of a story or characters, the varied environments meant jackspit, AI allies that could not match up to the necessary human help; all to cater to the "online" people that are not even aware that a single player portion exists. The first time I played, I wasn't sure if I was accidentally online because the "campaign" starts in a lobby and even the AI have online-mimicking names.

And the worst part? It could have been good if the single player campaign was given though like the first one instead of being a strictly multiplayer experience. After renting for maybe a day and a half, I had to return it out of sickness.

FFX-2 (it was the first sequel), Devil May Cry 2, Killzone 2, Blood Omen 2 (untill Defiance fixed the story line)

I have to only point out 3 that got my I AM DISSAPPOINT face.

Perfect Dark 2 for the Xbox 360.
I know microsoft bought out rareware, but that doesn't mean they have to chew up and spit out the best games for the N64 right?

Banjo Kazooie: Nuts and bolts.
For the love of god... they took one of my top 10 best games of all time and burned it at the stake. They really need to not do that...ever. Please?

F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin

Apparently, the guys at Monolith thought that the best way to make a mediocre shooter with a ridiculously stupid, hole wridden story and lackluster horror elements better was to make it EVEN MORE mediocre...and add EVEN MORE holes to the plot...and make the horror elements EVEN MORE lackluster.

Condemned 2: Bloodshot
Apparently. the guys at Monolith thought that the best way to make great horror game better was to ruin it. Sorry, I just can't see any logic behind the development of the game.
