My annoying problem would have to be starting a character, not liking the way s/he is being fleshed out, deleting any save games of that character, and starting anew.

Rarely do I ever make a character that I stick through all the way to the end of the story.
This, a million times this. It's not so bad in Bethesda games because you tend to just piss around and roleplay anyway, but bioware games? Dragon age became a real test of patience for me since I tended to re-start around Redcliff castle over-and-over. Getting through Ostagar and the Wilds became so routine and dull that the very thought of replaying the game makes me cringe.

stats and how that is the end all judgement on your skill. especialy K/D ratio. bad habit of thinking that your are pro because you have a good K/D and considering closet cheaters are the gold standard. seriously PvP games should not have stats!!!

Hehe, I thought I was bad.

I got a triple exectution in Gears of War today (kick, smack, chainsaw through chest, all in a nice line) and while I was doing it I was yelling "Yes, yes! I am everything and you are nothing!" while also being on the phone to my brother.

PC gamer elitism.
"Grumble Grumble Skyrim* would be better if it was not on consoles, Why do we have to pander to 2005 tech whine whine "

Because console sales far outstrip PC sales and without, using the Skyrim example, the console sales of Oblivion/Fallout 3 there would be a good chance that BethSoft wouldn't be making Skyrim? Hows 'dem apples? Crunchy?

Of course not all PC gamers are like this, hell my gametime is 50/50 Xbox/laptop at the moment.
*or whatever
Not to mention "Consolization". 99% of the time, whenever someone says something with that in the sentence, I'm going to want to punch them in the face from their terrible rhetoric.

Actually, one of my biggest peeves is when someone quits a ranked match before the end so they don't lost points. It's petty, they know it's petty, and they do it anyway. Some people are really sore losers.
Do you mean dash boarding, or just normal rage quitting?
*Looks up Dashboarding on Urban dictionary*

Yeah, that. I can understand rage-quitting if you're having a bad time playing, but quitting just to keep your score is pretty petty.

It is really a pet peeve of mine when I go to a friends houses and see their disc lying face down in the floor and all over the place. Ugh it drives me crazy. I just want to pick them up for them.

My worst habit is that I buy more games than I could possibly find the time to play. At last count, I had seventy-some-odd titles that had either never been touched or been played for less than an hour.

I don't know where they get that idea from most of the guys I know immeadiately Brozone me and have gf's that haven't touched a game in thier life. I would love to know where these men who can't resist girl gamers are....
That's odd, I have exactly the opposite problem. I want to know where all these gamer girls are that aren't just bat shit mental. If they do exist, they're definitely not in my city. I mean you can't expect everything from England's 4th city, in the university. I think the internet lied to me.

1) Reloading after every kill

2) Shooting doors that haven't opened yet (in Metroid Prime and any other game that has a similar thing to it)

3) Punching walls when waiting for elevators, load screens, first person story scenes to end, etc.

4) Not using a mic responsibly in any team oriented game. TF2, L4D, Borderlands, Gears of War, etc.

5) Halo/CoD hate. If you don't like the games, that's fine, but don't put those down that do.

6) Console gamers are RETARDS! HARDY HAR HAR! I have choice words for any ************ that thinks console gaming is stupid. I also have choice words for any ************ that thinks a mental problem like retardation equals a lazy problem like stupidity.

7) PC gaming is just too expensive. I like my consoles. I already have a good laptop. But $300 for a console + ~$600 for a good PC = $900. Add in some other peripherals and stuff you have to buy for the console, and you could have the money for a gaming PC - and no need for an extra one. I bought a laptop before I had even thought about this, so I'm not going to buy a gaming PC. But this is just food for thought.

8) Jumping through boss doors in Megaman X, Zero, ZX - Alright, this one might just be me, but it is a cardinal sin to not jump at the boss doors. You just have to, just to see your character float as the screen slides to reveal the boss backgrounds.

9) Pushing every button/tapping the controller/etc. during load screens.

10) Saving after every single encounter. I do this. Whenever I get past the tiniest challenge in a game, particularly shooters, I go pause and save the game on any game that allows it. When using emulators, I do the same thing with save states, which isn't cheating because you've already proven you can pass the obstacle in question. It is cheating when you use it as a way to get infinite lives. (Die? Reload last save state).
This about sums it up.

Ear-raping me through the mic. It's worse when it resonates from other people's mic's into yours and you can't talk to them even if you mute the source.

Pulling out the fisticuffs when crap gets close, even though I have an excellent close-quarters weapon.

However, if your enemy pulls out fisticuffs, melee fights are fun.

I have a few.
1) Games in wrong cases. This is annoying on many levels. Don't get me started.
2) Camping. This is awful. Be a man, grow nuts, kamikaze. Even snipers don't stay still, and they're the rodents of FPS games.
3)Taking it serious. When people take games serious. It makes me sick to the point where I hunt them down and projectile vomit on their consoles. Games are made to be a challenge and for FUN. FUN. Write that down somewhere if you take games seriously... and open a window, you smell like balls.
4)Overbragging. Now, brag all you want, but when you start bragging about the time 'you no-scoped that guy with a shotgun'. You may want to stop playing games and take a breather. Your bragging about easy shit.
5)Being cocky. Now, bragging is one thing, but physically showing off is just stupid. Don't.
6)Complaining about weapons you are using, when other people use them. This one is self explanatory.
7)Overgriefing. This one doesn't bug so much, since it's fun to do, and I have to admit it. Watching people squirm as you own them over and over is lolzy. But the very second they say stop. Do it. Don't carry on, you heartless monster... Unless they deserve it.
8)[last one, I promise...] This one is more of a real life one, but using people to play their games is just wrong. If you want to go and chat or whatever... fine. But the second you find yourself alone, in someone-else's bedroom, playing their games and ignoring them... Leave... Like... Now...

This mostly pertains to online play, but to me the worst habit a player can adapt is complain every single time they lose to someone else. The reason this really grinds on my nerves is because the complaining is usually the result of the player having the gaming version of a "God" complex, in that they believe they are the best thing ever to hit the game and the only way someone else can bring them down is if they use some kind of cheap strategy or hack the game somehow. Haven't you guys ever stopped to think that maybe you lost simply because you aren't as good as the other player?
