Bad Ideas for Modern Warfare 3

With Black Ops only a couple weeks away, Modern Warfare 2 will likely be neglected in favor of its successor. With glitches and balancing issues galore, Modern Warfare has made 13 year olds squeak in happiness and dedicated CoD players cringe. Things like commando and Model 1887s allowed inexperienced and lucky players to dominate a game and Tactical Insertions allowed boosting to evolve to a whole new level. With Black Ops fixing many of the issues of its predecessor and bounding to prove to be a better game overall, it seems as though the CoD series is due for enlightenment that will further enrich and improve future Cod games.

But, what would happen if a third Modern Warfare comes out? Rumors abound that Infinity Ward will not be working on the Call of Duty series anymore, possibly giving Sledgehammer Games the reins. A Modern Warfare 3 cannot let down everyone's expectations. With the noobtubefest that MW2 turned out to be, Modern Warfare 3 must go beyond simple Tactical Insertions and Care Packages to satisfy its younger fanbase.

To please the fans of Modern Warfare 2 that truly enjoyed the game for what it was and found no faults with it, MW3 must kick it up a notch. Skill must be taken completely out of the gaming equation, replacing it all with overpowered weapons, attachments, and perks. No longer will pesky details such as aiming and strategy get in the way of your knifing sprees and grenade spam.

Your job here tonight my fellow gamers is to come up with ideas that Sledgehammer Games could implement in Modern Warfare 3, to improve the glitches and overpowered weapons and perks of Modern Warfare 2.

Have a beta.

So many problems MW2 had could have easily been found and fixed with a proper beta.

First way to improve it: Have the U.S. Congress implement a gag rule across every American gamer to make them shut the hell up about Modern Warfare 2. We get it you didn't like it, please complain about something else now.

I didn't care for it, but I stopped complaining after day two.

No no no, that would Make MW3 BETTER. We can't have that happen, now can we? This is to come up with ideas that we wouldn't be surprised if they were implemented into Modern Warfare 3, based on the weapons, attachments, and perks of Modern Warfare 2.

Such as, akimbo tactical knives. Miss with your first knife lunge and don't want to wait for the cool down? Don't worry, you have another knife ready.

and I don't know why they thought killstreak rewards were a good idea.

Player A can already kill a lot of people without being killed in turn - so why give player A more tools to do it?

IMO this just widens the gap between the average and good players, and those who need a little help not only don't get it, but the guys that DON'T need help do.

This is the very reason I never even considered buying MW2, and won't consider any other game that gives killstreak rewards. If that means no more FPS games for me, so be it.

I actually enjoy Modern Warfare 2. I only created this thread for shits and giggles. This is merely a dramatization of some of the issues we have had to face with Modern Warfare 2. It was a good game, it just had it's own little problems.

Call it Modern Warfare 3: Future Warfare. Make it about a cybernetically enhanced space marine fighting to protect Earth against an invading alien force, guided by an AI that lives in his helmet.

making the singleplayer short come on! I havent played COD6 (yet) but I heard it only takes a weekend to beat it! make the singleplayer longer or lower the price 60 euro,s is way too overpriced for something that short

Killstreaks in other games such as Call of Duty 4 and World at War are nowhere near as overpowered as the ones in Modern Warfare 2. In the upcoming Black Ops, killstreaks will be harder to get and will be less powerful. Kills resulting from them do not increase your killstreak, so it will take actual skill to get them.

Well, I'll speak for the campaign side of things:

#1.The russians have an ultimate super Godzilla weapon that destroys 86% of America. Damn Russians!

#2.You play 30 different characters. 28 and a half of them die. You also strangle the final boss with your entrails.

#3.You shoot up five airports in this game. High-Five!

#4.Sex minigames....in first person!

#5.Captain Price dies and you get a mustache transplant that enables you to fly, scream so loud it tears off people's skin and your mustache is so super cool, it leads to #4.

Sound good?

Commando is no longer a perk, you simply wave dash 30 yards toward someone when you press the knife button. Additional perks will allow this dash to turn into an instant teleport, or to increase the range to infinite.

Yup. I came into this forum ready to post the exact same thing. Maybe they should stop trying to milk a shit game series and try doing something, oh I don't know, ORIGINAL. I am sick of seeing war games. They're all the same. And I can bet you in MW3, they will end up nuking the whole planet, since they weren't happy nuking the shit out of everything else in the first two games.

I agree. I have dished out a lot of hate on Modern Warfare 2, but I still enjoyed it up until the first pack of maps was released. The matchmaking system went crazy and I don't think it ever fully recovered. Which was a shame, as the online, whilst being irritating to a large degree at times, was a lot of fun, especially when you had a whole team of your friends and, as one of my mates decided to say at one time 'Go tactical'.

In my group of friends, I am the Call of Duty fanboy, but I won't be getting Black Ops until Christmas. Hopefully there will be less glitches and less noticeable lag.
