Bad voice acting that just makes you nerdrage

It has bad voice acting but Resident Evil 1 is one of those cases where the bad voice acting is just hilarious.

Same with Just Cause 2. It adds to the B-movie experience.

Well Avalanche studios (the developers) stated that they intentionally made the voice acting that bad as a homage to cheesy 80's action movies.

I thought Saint's Row: The Third had pretty decent voice acting overall. Until Viola DeWynter was introduced. Worst voice acting I have heard in such a high profile title. Did some searching, found out it was some ex porn star. I guess what they say about the level of acting in porn is spot on...

That isn't bad voice acting, that's hilarious voice acting that is extremely catchy.

Most Dawn of War games really.

There are only two, and they have fantastic voice acting across the board.

Mark Meer comes immediately to mind, especially considering that the comparisons between him and the vastly superior Jennifer Hale are inevitable. One could argue that Jennifer Hale is an unfair comparison because she's superior to pretty much everyone else, and that's true. The thing is, even when you don't compare him to someone who might be the best video game voice actor ever, Mark Meer falls flat. Compare him to most voice actors and Mark Meer falls flat. Compare him to Steve Blum and he falls flat. Compare him to Nolan North and he falls flat. Hell, you can even compare him to Jon St. John, the ultimate one-trick pony of the voice acting world, and Mark Meer still falls pathetically flat. Mark Meer might be one of the worst leading men of all time in terms of video game voice talent. If I ever hear his dull, lifeless, uninterested monotone again, it will be too soon.

One of the reasons i played fem shep is because Mr. Meer's voice is lifeless, dull, uninteresting and no emotion.

I'm throwing another vote into the shitpile that is Mark Meer's VO. And you don't even need to compare him to Jennifer Hale. Compare MaleShep's voice work to Kaiden's, Garrus', Captain Anderson, fucking anyone else. He sucks donkey balls, period.

I did. Three of them specifically. Raphael Sbarge, Brandon Keener, and Keith David respectively. Obviously they couldn't play MaleShep in the game considering the prominent roles they already have, though that doesn't stop Bioware with Hale(not saying that as a positive or a negative). Personally, I'd be fine with the people Raika mentioned, I can't give you a perfect person I'd want as they're all going to have little flaws, they'll just be better at it. Hell, I could see Brian Bloom doing a decent job of it and I don't even think he has the best voice for it.

Edit: Probably the most frustrating part for me is Meer has the right voice for Shephard, to my ears, but the acting part of it is what's lacking. It's painful seeing the wasted potential.

Elfen Lied. Oh my sweet poor, innocent ears.....i hated the english dub for that series so much it wasn't even funny. And believe me, I'm normally one of the first to jump up and defend english dubs but...yikes, that one was so horrendous i just had to listen to it in Jap. Sure it still wasn't the best dub but...At-least the jap dub TRIED, which is more then i can say for the wooden english dub.

I was fiddling around on the settings on Street Fighter x Tekken and saw English language options for the Tekken characters that usually only speak Japanese. Nothing could prepare me for the horrors that awaited:

Do you not play Tekken? I guess they're not too awful if you don't know what the Japanese voices are like. It was the shock of hearing them talk in English that made it worse for me.

No I don't play Tekken. I'm not big on Fighting games. I've played a few, but the Tekken series is not among them. So yeah, like I said I don't have anything to compare it to, I haven't heard the Japanese voices.
It's the same thing when I hear really stuck up elitist Anime fans complain about the voices in dubbed anime. Many of the dubs I've seen have featured some great performances, or at least I thought so; but then I haven't watched the original subbed version so I don't have much to compare it to. After all I hate reading subtitles and I prefer to watch things in my own language.
