To me, it sounded more as if you want Pyro to be a female character, rather than actually believe it.

While I respect your points, it gives me a feeling that you are trying very hard to correct me that Pyro is gender-neutral. I simply stated it is far more likely for Pyro to be a male than a female, which you do not believe.

As for the videos, Tali's facial structure and lines seem much more feminine, while Master Chief's lines appear masculine. It doesn't really prove much.

I didn't see any specific hints to the Pyro being a female, and judging from the rest of the game and what I've seen, I am assuming he is a male.

I don't really mind, either way. You think what you like. It makes no gameplay difference whatsoever, so it's pretty much pointless.

(Yes I realise this is about a fictional character, but i'm feeling lecturey)

Technically I would say you are both wrong, just because there isn't a clear answer doesn't give you the right to assume one based on personal bias, and that sticking quite firmly to the neutral in every way possible is the only way to go unless indicated otherwise.

On a rambling language note:
If you were to encounter a true gender neutral/ambiguous person you would either refer to them as "he" since it is still a gender neutral pronoun (despite changing trends) or as 'they'. Probably as whatever is preferred by the individual in question (in the case of the pyro I personally prefer 'rubber wedgied fire demon'. To use "it" could cause problems as it has its own connotations.

Yes I do and I am not afraid to admit it though I apologise for coming off more zealous than I should have.

This is my personal bias.

The thing is Tali's face does not resemble the (poorly photoshoped) photograph and Master Chief's face was simply the head they used as reference when modeling the helmet. They then threw a photograph of one of the staff onto the face as a goofy Easter egg. I was pointing out that because there is a head underneath does not mean it reflects the appearance of the character.

That is alright.

More or less.
