That was a pretty good review i liked it. You described them really well. What do you think of Goodbye to the Machine? (out of curiosity)
I like that album quite a bit as well - the sarcastic little hidden track at the end that takes potshots at their old label was an especially hilarious addition.

I've yet to know anyone else who knows of Hammerfall, but I love them. (But that might be because I'm a Templar nerd and they have Templar-themed songs XD)

So, no one's mentioned Frank Zappa? That's a shame (though I saw several mentions of Tom Waits which is always good).

oh yeah and The Electric Six...
Who hasn't heard of Electric Six? FIRE AT THE DISCO! FIRE AT THE TACO BELL!

Also, the two music videos of theirs, directed by Tom Kuntz (famously the director of recent Skittles commercials and the "Man your man could smell like" Old Spice ads) are hilariously unreal.

Heh... Abraham Lincoln...

No one I ever talk to knows who Pendulum is, even though they're a great band
You'd be surprised; I know loads of Pendulum fans. Also, that particular song is amazing.
But in my case, good old Clutch!
Everything they've done this decade has swung between funky to bizarre to strangely philosophical to absolutely brilliant. They're one of the most original bands I've ever heard, in terms of musical style and lyrics. And yet the only time anyone recognizes one of their songs is Electric Worry from the Left 4 Dead 2 commercial, and almost nobody actually knows the band that plays it. Neil Fallon and his epic beard need to be introduced to more of the world.

I'm a fan of Sabaton, but no one I've met in real life has ever heard of them. They're virtually unknown in the US.
Same over here. I think I'm the only British fan.

Holyhell, too. Amazing band, but... about three people have heard of them.
