I've heard of Mott the Hoople, but yeah. Who the hell is that?!Slavoc said:Here's a 70's band I bet none of you have heard of. "Major Hoople's Boarding House" From Kitchener, Ontario. They only had 1 hit called "I'm running after you". It was huge in Canada. If you google them there's almost nothing about them.
Modest Mouse are brilliant. King Rat is fantastic,Uber Evil said:OT: My acquaintances don't seem to have heard of Modest Mouse.
My point exactly my friend...lithiumvocals said:Bodom, I can understand. Didn't know about them until GH5, I can say I'm not a fan.MasTerHacK said:Highly awesome I might say...lithiumvocals said:I'm talking about those bands that you can't talk about with other people because they don't know them. Keep in mind that I'm referring to real life conversations, not internet conversations.
One band that I have a hard time finding fans for is Radio Moscow. Not a lot of people in my area seem to know them, but they're awesome. A great mix of blues and psychedelic rock. Modern too, I might add.

Got bands like this?
Not many of my friends have heard about Children of Bodom... or even Pink Floyd... blasphemy, that's all I say!
But PINK-FUCKING-FLOYD? Torches and Pitchforks!!!!
Just_A_Glitch said:Huzzah! Another reason to post a Closure In Moscow and Vangough song! And I'll throw in some Polkadot Cadaver for the hell of it.
Three of my favorite bands ever, and they both need much more exposure.
I could list hundreds more (not exaggerating), but I'll leave it at these three.
EDIT: Going to throw some Emilie Autumn in here too.
Ive heard of vangough.
they did a badass Wily 1/2 remix.
But Pearl Jam is awesome...Outright Villainy said:Sort of Ironic really: Loads of my friends love the same kind of obscure metal I do, and would definitely give it a try, but none of my friends share my love of Pearl Jam.
Aside from his Heart of Saturday Night album (an absolutely fantastic album, might I add), I can't stand Tom Waites. My friends love everything he does though, and I've got to give credit where its due. His lyrical capabilities are nearly unmatched.MalevolentJim said:Tom.Fucking.Waits.
Nobody talks about him these days.Because everyone sucks.

Where Tom Waits really shines is in his lyrics. Possibly the best musical poet since the Beatles, and that's coming from someone who doesn't really care for any of the musicians mentioned.Novskij said:I think he is really good at music, but i find it hard to get into him.Just_A_Glitch said:Aside from his Heart of Saturday Night album (an absolutely fantastic album, might I add), I can't stand Tom Waites.
