You all have to have one band you love and everyone hates. Why do you hate the it/them?

Personally I never got into or liked:

The Beatles - they were British, they pushed rock forward a bit, they were average. I never saw the appeal of them. I thought their lyrics (with the exception of Imagine and Come Together) were just average, Syd Barrett level. I also lost a lot of respect for them after learning how they changed every aspect of their band to get a record deal.

DubStep - I enjoy techno, but it seems like every ten years it reforms as a less creative version of itself. Now we get WOMPWOMP "Transformers Quote" WOMPWOMP

Green Day - claimed to be punk, but was guitar based pop at best. Horrid band in general.

My Chemical Romance - Apparently it's awesome to rip off The Wall for an album and music video (Teenagers ripped off In The Flesh/Run Like Hell from Pink Floyd's The Wall) and it's also cool to cover The Misfits and turn alien invasions into whiny teens.

AC/DC - I'm on a Highway to Hell...now take the same riff, change the lyrics, do this for every song.

Metallica (only Kill 'Em All) - I never saw the appeal to Kill 'Em All. Beyond that album, I have loved every Metallica album and song. Ever since Kill 'Em All they have improved in virtually every way.....except for Enter Sandman, which is easily their worst song.

That's Brostep, a Sub genre of Dubstep.

http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=brostep

Brostep is an aggressive form of dubstep, and has more of a heavier sound, with as you say, samples and quotes.

I think people get confused over what is real Dubstep, and what is the ADD infested younger cousin of Dubstep, Brostep. Dubstep itself has been around for ten years or so, the mainstream Brostep however only two. I'm not a huge fan, but their are a few good artists, Burial comes to mind.

Okay with that out of the way...

Drone, Grindcore, Death, and Doom Metal.

Not to go around ruining people's taste in music (mainly because these genre's have their fans on this site), but I see hardly any musical integrity in any of these genre's.

True, some of the guitar riffs in those genre's are rather impressive and well done, but when it comes to lyrical content, and vocals, it just falls flat for me. I especially hate Drone, which in every song just sounds like a broken refrigerator, and their is only four chords being played in the entire duration of the song.

I'm incredibly open minded to most music genre's, but genre's like Drone and Grindcore just make me scratch my head, and say "People like this!?" At least with other music genre's that I don't like I can at least understand why some people like them, with something like that I just can't seem to understand it for the life of me.

Hmm i don't like Rock, R&B and Rap (do mind in each genre there are exceptions but usually rare) so i think it would be quite laborious to mention every song/artist that is popular but i don't like.

I wonder when the Nickelback hatred is going to start filtering through?

Meh, I'm just gonna nominate the entire Punk genre, particularly hardcore punk. Not for me, not at all. Also, give me back my Prog Rock you fiends!

Paramore.

I play in a band, and everyone besides me (That's four other people) absolutely adore them, but I honestly do not see the appeal. As far as I'm concerned, and having listened to all of their debut album, I think that they are simply generic, and are tailored to an audience of people my age.

I really don't like Paramore.

*Checks UK Top 40...

Jessie J.
"It's not about the money" you say? That's kind of a cool statement to say, while you actually have money.

One Direction.
I have a feeling that One Direction, The Wanted and maybe even JLS are trying to imitate the old boybands. By the sounds of them, it's really, REALLY not working.

"Slasher" metal?

OT: There is very little music I actively dislike, but I suppose the closest would be the songs that are the annoying type of catchy, like Calvin Harris - Bounce, and DJ Fresh - Louder.
