I'm in the same boat as you. Audioslave seems to get a pretty bad rap, for whatever reason, while RATM and Soungarden are praised, but I love Audioslave (granted, I also like the other band, just not as much).

Honestly, that's all I can really think of; most of the "hated" bands at my school are hated by me as well, and any music that I like that others don't usually isn't well-known enough at my school for people to hate on it (though it's ordinarily pretty mainstream stuff, oddly enough).

maybe it's because when I say that my favourite band is Rage Against the Machine, they automatically compare it to rise against (because of the similar-ish names i guess) and just bad music imo
