There are some great bands that aren't 'popular' in the mainstream.
So I was wondering who are your favorite bands that no one will remember in 5 or so years? Maybe they are already forgotten.
For me an Aussie band mental as anything if you don't know them and like 70/80s light rock then they're the best.
Also feel free to list bands you do hope fade into time and never come back.
Hopefully people find some great bands from this thread.

Wintersun. Last album in 2004, been delaying their second one ever since.

I have a feeling people with be listening to music from the 70s-80s for at least for another fifty years, if not more. And the Beatles as well.

Hmm I've been Ninja'd. This was the first thing I thought of when I saw the thread title, I have a feeling Time will come out this year though.

Flobots. Oh wait...I actually want them to fade away. Make room for other bands which can actually create good music.

The Clash?
and I hope Greenday fades out and never comes back.

Weezer, best band of the last decade (I think).

Collective Soul. Sort of grunge/light rock. Had a couple of radio hits, but never really got popular... I'm the only one of my friends who even knows them (I'm 20).

well john frusciante left again. And they've been doing this for what, almost 30 years? They may stop making music, but the music they've made will still be listened to for years to come. 2040, i'll still be listening to Red Hot Chili Peppers.

I think Mental as Anything are a bit too well known for that to happen.

For me, Goldfish. Not many know them, and they only have a couple albums.

A shame it is... But all good things must come to an end.
