Each pokemon has an existing habitat that they could be found in, so it is just a matter of finding a real location that exemplifies that habitat. For the non-elemental types, I think it would be much harder to say "this region" or "that region" since their habitats are less to deal with observable geography and more about the perfect place for them to be.Leemaster777 said:

OP: Well, I live in Maritime Canada so Pokemon that live in colder climates for half the year and woody climates for the rest...
I'm thinking a Treecko, a Combee, and a Weedle for the summer and a Seel, an Abomnasnow, and a Meditite for the winter...

Colorado has tons of wild life, but I live in the city so cut that back quite the bit. Odds are I would have started out with a pidgey (all over the place), and rather large collection of spider Pokemon, also I grew up not far from a power plant so I probably would have gathered up some electric types there. Likely Electrode as he's one of my favorites, can't beat that speed.

I live in/around DC so there would be a ton of Rattata/Raticate. There would be Murcrow flying around and the downtown areas would have more than its fair share of grimer (probably not Muk though since we're no longer living in the 1990s). Pidgy would probably also be common as all hell. The watery bits would probably have more Goldeen than Magikarp. I also would think there would be Squirtle about too because I once found a Turtle on my way to work. Also ekans, there would be ekans. Not many but they would be around.

Rivers every half-hour drive (Small water-types)
Ocean 5 minutes away (Larger water types)
Mountains within an hour (Rock/Ground/Steel)
And desert just over 2 hours away (Basically more rock/ground)
The only place I'm really missing are caves.... But still, I'd hunt the mountains for an Absol.... I'd find one.....

Welcome to Idaho, specifically the Bear Lake area, with a nice big lake, rolling hills, big forests, some marshy landscape, and most importantly really cold winters. We'd have some water types, nothing big like Gyarados or Whalord, more like Goldeen, Magikarp, maybe Feebas. We'd also have things like Stantler, some of the other common forest dwellers like Caterpie, Weedle, and Pikachu, and more importantly ice types.
Now assuming I can make a smart team and am not limited to the idiotic team choices the enemy trainers in the games make: I'd have Butterfree, Seaking, Raichu, Froslass, Cloyster, and Crobat. (Bats are freaking everywhere.)

I live in Michigan, not to far away from the Selfridge Air Base and next to a marina. (So flying pokemon would either be really good, or really bad).

Wingull, Zigzagoon, Shellder, (to make it short, put remaining fish-like pokemon here that seem like they would exist in a large freshwater body of water), Bellsprout, Sudowoodo, Combee (I think that's how you spell it), Pinco, Beedrill, Pidgey, and others of the like.
There's plenty more that would fit my location, I am sure, but there are too many to pick them out.
