I love the game. I went to a friends house right after he had just bought it. I played it for a good 4 or so hours. I was hooked. The old guy (narrator) adds a certain charm to the game too.

Certainly will be buying it when it's PC version is released. I actually saw it on Steam, looked at it, thought it looked kinda cool, then saw this review on Escapist. And I'm definitely convinced. Out of curiosity, anything in that soundtrack for a metalhead?

I had my eye on this game for a few months. Glad to hear it shaped up to be what it looked it was going to.

I'll be nabbing this come next paycheck.

I am currently a sadfaced PSN user who just can't work up the urge to renew my LIVE acct for one game. Hold off on the rocks 360 kids, rest assured that I am actually quite torn on this one.

Bought the game just a few hours ago and so far it seems more than worth the 15$ I shelled out for it. It incorporates lots of great origional ideas and is just plain pretty to look at and listen to.

Seems it has some very neat features, altho that falling off the level thing seems completely pointless.
But I will check it out when they come to PC.

Not really (there is no metal as far as i can tell), unless you're a metalhead with broad musical taste. The genre of music is "acoustic frontier triphop", well that's what they themselves are calling it. You can listen to the soundtrack on their bandcamp [http://supergiantgames.bandcamp.com/] page (free of charge).

Awesome awesome game got the soundtrack too.
Oddly enough Jim sterling gave it a 6.5 *I know right Jim as always reviewing the complete oppisite to troll the internet*

Note: you can still get the MAW if you buy any of the summer of arcade games via the microsoft store.

Why is it that the ultimate formula for a quasi-artistic game is of a child being plunged into some situation that is bigger than them? Why? How many quasi-artistic games is that now that revolve around this general concept? It's not poignant anymore... it's just cliche (I really can't wait for someone to parody it). Besides that, the visuals are just ugly. I don't need to play the game to see that. They look nice with a handpainted look (that look is also approaching cliche), but it's all too fucking cluttered and busy that it destroys any traces of intrigue or beauty. The soundtrack also strikes me as eclectic for the sake of being eclectic. Oh man... trip-hop (you might not have heard of it, it's sort of obscure) AND blues? SO DEEP. That's almost the textbook definition of pretentious.

I'll pass. This game just looks like pretentious, hipster garbage... the crap that someone that HAS to believe "games are totally art man" to have fun with them would play. Perhaps its fun, but I would rather not deal with something that puts forward this weak semblance of depth in order to pander to one of the most obnoxious subsets of the gaming community. I love indie games, but I cannot help to sigh when the community excretes something like this.

its hard to describe what feelings were evoked by just seeing snippets of this game in action... So I'll just have to sum up my feelings as concisely as possible ....

WANT!

Hearing the voice I automatically thought of Wolverine, and just kept waiting for him to say "Bub", then i find out the voice actor's name is Logan? Priceless.
