The Battle Ranking system in TLR is incredibly confusing at times. The Wykydtron said:Does The Last Remnant end up being any good by the way? I've gone through the first few hours and i'm unsure how the story is gonna go, it could go the boring, generic route with random anime/JRPG tropes just randomised and thrown at you or it could go somewhere interesting.
The combat system did look interesting so I would like to know if it's worth going back into.
Grinding isn't actually recommended until you can finally field a total of 18 units, but you need to pick and choose which battles you go through until then. Killing everything that stands in front of you is not advised.
Try to fight monsters that are "slightly stronger" or "strong" by the time you are up to the Nest of Eagles. You can check this by looking at the help text on the first command in battle. Or you can get a general idea of how strong the enemies are by looking at the starting morale. You want the fights to be drawn out but beatable so that your units get the chance to choose commands and get damaged for stat gains. Beating up weaklings over and over again throughout the entire game will inflate your BR but leave you weaker overall.
