Downloading it now on my 360. I will get back to you guys in a bit when I actually play it. Hoping it is really good so I have an excuse to get a good computer for it.

Gameplay is great considering I'm from Australia so having the screen read that I had died but still was shooting took a bit to get used to. Took me a few games to get into it and lose my tunnel vision/alien-ness to the map, got into a good squad and have only lost one game.

Glitches/bugs are common for Betas so I'm not fussed. Thumbs up, I treated it a little like a demo and have decided that I will defo buy this and make it my FPS for the next however long.
This is on the PS3 too, played better then I expected it too.

"I haven't played the beta but from what I have seen it looks a lot more like COD now. Have they made it more similar to that because if so I may have to pass on this game."

It's not really like COD, the map is a little COD like and that's the Metro part of it (CQC etc), but I hear the rest are usually the classic BF maps. The only other similar trait it shares with COD is how long it takes to down an enemy, which I approve, game needed to evolve in that direction.

I can't download it on Xbox because I have a 48 hour Gold subscription which isn't deemed worthy enough to download the Beta in Microsoft's eyes. EA is telling me I'm not allowed to login to my Origin account on PC too for some weird, typical EA reason. I've tried it on my PS3 and eh, it's kinda boring. I played the alpha on PC and back then I thought it was quite awesome, but now I'm just bored of it. I don't feel like I'm doing anything skilful, I'm always at the top of the scoreboard with a high K/D, but I do nothing to get there other than predict where the enemy is and position myself accordingly, handing out supplies when I can and disarming bombs or otherwise providing covering fire for other people disarming bombs. It's just a oneshot-fest like COD, I don't see the point in playing games like that. I doubt I'll buy it on release, but I'll watch reviews/gameplay and reconsider it.

Oh its awesome, I launched the game, Origin said I was playing the BF3 beta, but I still see my desktop and pretty much nothing else. BF3 is obviously so great that its far too complicated for my feeble little mind to comprehend it, so Origin just doesn't launch it for my safety. Or Origin just sucks as much as Steam. I don't know.

Hopefully I can resolve this later. Was really looking forward to this.

i saw it on the dashboard for xbox. decided to download it and give it a try. 'this purchase is -1microsoft points' so i continue.
then it tells me i dont have enough. i need... and im not lying here...
4,489,463,712 microsoft points.

no, how the hell..? did i have to preorder it or something?
It is working fine for me. Try going into the game marketplace normally and finding it. If it was preorder exclusive they would have given out codes for it and it wouldn't be promoted on the homepage.

Its great fun and the graphics are pretty good but its the buggiest Beta I have ever played and its really hard to get in a game and almost impossible to get into a game with a party hopefully they'll sort all that for the launch but yeah when it works its amazing.

Okay from the first 2 matches I have played: You die easily and no regenerative health. Also the aiming is extremely loose. You can carry your knife around by holding down RB for a second and it isn't a one hit kill always which is cool, also going proned. The map is beautiful on the 360. Though fining a match is hard and I have been dropped twice now.

Things I like: No Regenerating Health. It is a nice change
Knife is a weapon and not just a button
It looks nice.
Proned.
Easy deaths... kinda.
HOLY SHIT I HAVE LEGS!

Things I don't like: Death is extremely easy, which isn't entirely bad, but I think it would be a bit better if they let you soak a bit more than 1 to 3 bullets, just not used to how easy it is to get kills and to be killed.
Trying to find a game sucks and I keep getting dropped.
Extremely high sensitivity. I changed it but still I thought it as going to be tighter at first so I raised it quite a bit and then I was zooming around while aiming. Just suprised that it is pretty sensitive when really low on the bar.
Kinda laggy.
Sprinting and proned don't always seem to work properly.

All in all, I like it. I am going to get it when it comes out. I do hope they change some things a bit. But still pretty good.

You're probably right with your last point or it was just bad luck. At least I'm hoping you're right. However, with the rest, minus the bug statement (because I fully understand the purpose of beta), you're completely wrong. I also ask you, have you been playing the beta? Also, if yes, for the xbox360?

To counteract your points, my TV is set up just right, trust me. It's a great tv hooked up to a great system.

I know it's Beta, but usually something this close to launch has all the (very large and game altering) bugs ironed out. I can only imagine how fucked up it was during alpha if it is this bad during such a late beta.

Controller(s) are fine. I even switched in order to see if the problem was my end.

Actually, health does regen. There's like a ten second delay, which is a crucial time-period because you tend to die fast. Having a med pack negates the delay.

That seems to be the legit way to get there. So let's see; you kill enemies, assist teammates, and do objectives. What else are you looking for there?

It's good, but the 'lying prone in a bush' tactic drives me nuts.

It also looks rather average on my 360. Crysis 2 was better looking in my eyes, Frostbite appears to shine more on PC.

Hmmm....
It's extremely different than Bad Company and much more like CoD but a bit smoother. Because of my crappy TV it doesn't look too great but still fantastic. Buggy like fuck. When you do well it's fucking awesome. When you get insta killed out of no-where, spawn killed and have a team of retards it's not great :/
The map is fairly one sided but twice I've had some bad teams and terrible, terrible luck.

I can't make any real judgements at the moment with just one map and game mode. But the snipers are quite OP.

I don't know, the whole experience feels really hollow. Everyone dies within a few rounds so killing isn't hard, the guns are easy to aim and shoot, and on consoles they practically aim for you with the assist on. Like I've said, it feels really lackluster. I suspect it is the choice of map because I've actually enjoyed previous Battlefield games, I still play BC2 even. The current map in the Beta feels like one of those CS:S deathmatch servers where you pick guns, spawn, kill a few, die, repeat. It isn't enjoyable with Battlefield's gameplay, and it feels like a significant step down when compared to previous Battlefield games. I've always enjoyed how in previous Battlefield's it's (usually) a struggle, the map in the Beta is a mindless spray and prey with no soul. I usually forget there is even an objective unless the bomb is actually planted.

These are my thoughts on the Beta, it's made me reconsider buying BF3, but I have no idea how the end product will be. I'll be disappointed if all the maps are like this on release.

It's great. Rather buggy, but it is a beta. In general it's really awesome.

However, the first time I tried to download it, the 'confirm download' screen said I had to pay about 4.5 trillion microsoft points (about 450 billion dollars).

Ok, I see what you mean. I agree 100%. I also find the map to be too big, but meaningless. Wow, it's huge. However, tactically, it makes no sense. Just a way to get picked off by campers. I posted before something similar, where you kill a couple, die, repeat all in ten seconds. Or spawn, die quickly, repeat. It's annoying considering the only people who are unaffected are campers (which having prone now is going to be so prevalent). In BC2, I could easily stay alive for 10 min+. I don't see that happening in BF3.

This isn't a beta.
And the beta itself doesn't even work.
Contradiction?

And yes it is a beta. There's no ambiguity about this. It's been repeatedly called a beta. The software is entitled 'beta'. There are troubleshooting forums. You don't need to pay to be in it. Not everyone who will play the actual release is on the beta. Not all the features are enabled. The game mostly works, but not for everyone. You can even submit bug reports. This is a beta. I'm not going to argue any more about this. You. Are. Wrong.

I don't have time or energy for this absurdity. Ignored.
