At least origin can maintain download speeds while steam cant.

BF3 is alright, I keep getting sniped randomly from across map or from some ass hole camping in a bush.

I will say, Metro is a bit Too campy for my tastes...
Although I like Rush gameplay, it can only hold me for so long. BF is about 64 player battles on big open maps. I'm hoping to get a shot at Caspian before the beta closes.

After trying for an HOUR i finally got it and had alot of fun albeit playing with the complete retards that were my team mates. couldn't defend a damn crate to even the slightest degree, then it switched me over to the good team and i went ape shit on all of it. great time, theres a few things that should definitely be fixed but nothing major. the scale of enjoyment comes from the skill level/intelligence of your team.

It doesn't look pretty, it has a bunch of bugs, the beta map is terrible, and practically nothing is destructable. Where is the fun? I am seriously disappointed in it so far. Being a huge fan of BFBC2, I was expecting a lot more from this game. We shall see if it is saved on release.

Also pissed I can't play for PC because I have XP... so I have to play on 360 =\

Lol yeah that's a fair comparison with the respective catalogue sizes currently online.

I'm absolutely hating Origin, but BF3 doesn't seem too bad though so far (only played about 20 minutes, will give it more of a bash later tonight). Gameplay seems fairly solid, isn't as good looking as I expected though. The whole Origin and battlelog interface is really putting me off, but if the gameplay is there i'll probably still buy it.

I really hate this web browser substitute for ingame menu and bunch of other things annoy me about Origin
1) I have to be alive in a game before I can change any of my settings? Seriously. Also when I do change settings ingame and try to save 50/50 chance of ctd
2) You have to use quick match and hope you get a good server, because manually selecting one you'll be there all day with "game is full" "come back later this server is changing maps" <- wut?
3) Metro is glitchy as hell ppl going underground for giggles all over the start of the map, also it feels very COD-like a lot of mister run and gun, and master pray and spray
4) Origin friends and Battlefield friends aren't synced?
5) this

Maybe they want me to change it to 123456

To everyone who say it's just a beta, remember this is ONLY 1 Month from launch, all past Battlefield games have very buggy servers on launch for months, most recent being BFBC2. So this those not bold well for Battlefield: The COD killer game of the year etc etc

I've no idea what your problem is but this isn't a beta when it's this close to the release. Despite wht EA call it. The reality is that while they may be testing the servers, the actual gameplay and graphics really aren't going to change.
Gameplay and graphics wouldn't change in a beta, that's alpha. Alpha adds/removes things, beta gets the bugs.

So far i'm having fun but there are some things that I have a problem with.

1) The controls are unresponsive at times and by that I mean that either the crouch button does not work or I can't look down the iron sights.

2) Sniper/Recon seems to be a bit OP. I say this because I have been dying a lot against snipers in close quarter situations.

3) It seems that it is a lot easier to die than in BFBC2. I hope that they increase the health or tone down on the weapons' firepower, because if you can easily wipe out an entire enemy squad with one 30rd magazine then there is less reason to work together as a team (strength in numbers).

4) Regenerating Health: Simply because it makes it easier for someone to go lone wolf.

5)Auto Aim: I am pretty sure this was not in BFBC2 and I think the reason for this to go is obvious.

well I downloaded the beta yesterday and played around 2hours of the metro map last night, this morning I played around 2hours of the caspian border map and here are my toughts on the game:

- at first I was abit sceptical towards the battlelog system but now I kinda like it, its pretty simple and you can find alot of stuff in there (stats, unlocks, servers) and it runs alot more smoother than most server finding tools that are build ingame

- the metro map for open beta test was a very bad call by DICE/EA the map gives completely wrong picture of the game, I hope they open more maps for open testing soon

- then there is the caspian border map, now this is a completly diffrent game than the metro map, there are choppers, tanks, jeeps, jets and a large 64player conquest map. this is the true battlefield that I've been waiting for, my advice is that if you havent tried this map yet, dont judge the game

It's good, but the 'lying prone in a bush' tactic drives me nuts.

It also looks rather average on my 360. Crysis 2 was better looking in my eyes, Frostbite appears to shine more on PC.
I'm playing on ps3 and got to agree I wasn't it to look eye melting good on console but looks at best above average, my other problem is it seems like they were trying to make it more call of duty like you die quickly which is ok but it doesn't mesh well with all the weapons being very accurate and the shotguns having decent range and the people hiding in bushes is super annoying.

I was a big fan of BF2, and I enjoy TF2, and do/did pretty well at both. I'm no master of first person shooters, but I can usually avoid embarrassing myself. So I was kind of excited to give this a try.

First...not as pretty as I expected. Sharp, but kind of grey...and drab. Animations are nice though.

Took me a while to figure out where I needed to be going. I'll just follow my guys, I think. Oh look, is that an enemy? He looks like my guys! I shoot at him. Pip pip pip, goes my wee little gun. Pip pip. Did I hit him? I cannot tell. There is very little in the way of visual feedback. Whoops, I was shot once and died. Well, the respawn is quick!

Pip pip pip! Pip pip! Dead. Respawn!
Pip pip pip! Pip pip! Dead. Respawn!
Pip pip pip! Pip pip! Dead. Respawn!
Pip pip pip! Pip pip! Dead. Respawn!
Pip pip pip! Pip pip! Dead. Respawn!
Pip pip pip! Pip pip! Dead. Respawn!
Pip pip pip! Pip pip! Dead. Respawn!
Pip pip pip! Pip pip! Dead. Respawn!
Pip pip pip! Pip pip! Dead. Respawn!

I quietly turned off the beta and resumed playing Medieval 2.

It's possible this genre has just passed me by, if this is the future of it. I don't necessarily need team red and team blue, but shooting at flickering, lack warping grey and brown wraiths on a smoky, lens-flared grey and brown field and wondering whether or not your bullets are actually hitting anything before dying in one shot is about as much fun as a punch to the scrotum.

I want to be able to use the M16 on both sides though, I know there is no difference between rifles, but its more of an aesthetic wish.
There does seem to be a difference in attachments though. I've unlocked a crapton of stuff for the Support class as the US Army, but I can't use any of it for the Russians. That, of course, annoys me greatly.

Other than that; bloody fucking hell, this shit is brilliant. And it's just an infantry map, let alone the vehicle maps... I'm going to love this to bits. As for Battlelog, it works surprisingly smooth. No complaints on that front.

I played it for 2 hours on my PC, then I uninstalled it. It's not bad. Far from it. It's awesome. That's why I uninstalled it. I don't want to want to buy it. There are a lot of other games I want this year as a single player gamer, and I have college obligations. Battlefield 3 would ruin me. So I'm not getting it until January, probably.

There's an X in your reticle when you hit an enemy. What more visual feedback do you expect?
