As for people complaining about snipers - still - they are not OP.
The SVD sniper rifle. 1 shot's you anywhere on the body. Meant to 2 shot you.
Broken as fuck.
I still kill people with SVDs easily. Run up to them with an PP-2000 or W/E the PDW after that is, and shoot them. They die. Also, tag them. If you die, nearby allies kill them and hopefully res you. If you don't have nearby allies, your doing something wrong...

To all the people saying we cannot judge this because it is only a beta.......
This is a demo. It is known that open betas are pretty much considered demos. To someone like me who only had a passing interest in this because it's part of a famous series, the beta is kinda a dissapointment.
I really want to like it but whenever I try to play I just get sniped again and again. Maybe im doing it wrong but if I try to advance slowly and tactically then some enemy will just run past our lines and shoot me from where I cannot see them.
That's not even counting the damned snipers.
I am hoping to give it more of a chance but it's making it damn difficult for me to enjoy this, I haven't even encountered any bugs yet either(Playing xbox version).
I really hate the damn unlock system, it takes me so damn long to unlock anything. I mean come on DICE. It's a beta with only one map and yet unless im one of those people who are so great that they rack up a K/D of 34-5 I can't unlock anything without playing the same crappy map countless times.
The fact I have to play a stripped down version of each class just to unlock it's basic functuality annoys the hell out of me, and what's with all the later weapon unlocks?
Nothing annoy's me more than higher level players getting all these advantages. I was put off of Bad company 2 because I would get annoyed that other players had better weapons and some stupid perk to increase their health or damage.
I know that I would probably feel differently if I was an actual fan or regular player of Battlefield or COD but this beta just feels like they made it more like Cod to me which I am dissapointed by since I loved 1943 and the first bad company.
Maybe im just playing it wrong, can anybody give me any tips on how to play Metro without being destroyed by the 50 snipers hiding in anything remotely resembling plantlife?
It is a Beta. Whilst other companies might release Demos instead of betas, this is a beta. The build is already several months old, and is not meant to test gameplay as much as server strain and Battlelog.
The sad problem with any online game with ranked perks these days is that those with the better unlocks will always kill noobs far too easily at the start. Your best bet is to get on a team with some resonable players and follow them around. It is a squad based game, and if the players are playing well, they will revive you when you fall, shoot enemies you didn't see, maybe get killed by them, but they will have tagged them for you to kill. That, or when defending on Metro, to the right of the original spawn and base A, there is a small rock formation a bit behind a wall. Do a little camping there to get some unlocks then move on. Also, when about to lose the first base as the defending team on Metro, fall back to almost where the bomb blows a hole in the ground. The second it does, run into the small tunnel on the far right that people try to bypass defences with, and hide about 1-2/3rds of the way down it, prone, and shoot anything that comes in. You are guaranteed a couple of kills. Or, play Caspian border. Its kinda noob-friendly with tanks. They take at least 4 shots to kill, giving you plenty of time to use skill instead of reaction time to kill an enemy. The larger map also means snipers are less effective strangely. They can only camp 1 base, or maybe 2, due to the size of the map, and when one is spotted, a tank drives up and rapes them.
The CoDness ends when you get onto Caspian Border. It is a conquest map, not a rush one, and it is a large, open map. It is what BF is about. Metro is meh IMO. Kinda fun, specially toying round with flashlights (Though I hate the noobs who don't turn theirs off when in the open...) and close corridors, but Caspian is far better. It also takes destructibility a bit better than Metro. I was in a tank that ran over one of those builder rock things. It crumbled. Probably a one off or something, but that was just a 'Wait a minute' moment for me.
As for tips in Metro: Stick with a group, run fast, learn the map. Whilst running fast, stay somewhat in cover. Usually, those rocks near base B from the attacking side is a common place to go. Its not a inherently BAD idea. They do provide cover, and I always get a couple of kills there, but it is also the most obvious place to be. Try heading along the path next to it, that leads straight to A, or down the left side map wall on the way to A, ducking into the bushes when you think you're too in the open. Few people look there from A, and if you head there quickly and stay somewhat hidden, you'll be fine. Also, a good thing to do is be a recon for first life, get there, place a spawnpoint. If you get killed, most players don't notice spawnpoints and you can spawn next to them and knife them before they know a thing.
Also, once you get the befribulator for assault, BE A MEDIC. You get a lot of points for helping your team.
Now, not all of these points will help your team, but they are a good way to start as a noob to get some unlocks and actually stand a chance. When you get a 4X scope on anything, snipers are toast BTW. Just point it in there direction and burst fire. They get suppressed, hit by your bullets and eventually killed.
However I do reccomend playing Caspian. It is good.
