If it helps I have a shiny new gtx 570 and a new PSU sat on the spare bed waiting to be installed sometime soon.SmashLovesTitanQuest said:You know, here I was thinking I wasnt going to buy BF3 after all. Because it looks like BC3 rather than BF3, etc etc.
And after watching that trailer, im going to have to buy it. And a new graphics card, I have a feeling a HD5770 wont be cutting it for this game.

Yeah its the unfortunate result of consoles REALLY showing their age after a couple of years. Thankfully, my PC is up to snuff, so I'm with the "cool kids" so to speak.AssassinFisH said:There is a problem for us console owners. The video depicted 64 player combat and it looks EPIC!!! Unfortunately, I can't see it being anywhere near as exciting with 24 players. look at the Jets for example, fast, powerful warhorses ready to rain down all manner of hell. Fun, when you are avoiding strafing rounds from other jets, while trying to bomb the hell out of a bunch of infantry locked down in a building somewhere. However, in the same jet, with 12 players spread about a large map, you are going to be pushed to be able to single anyone out....not so fun.
So yes BF3 on the PC is bound to be one of the gaming experiences of 2011, but sadly, I don't see it having half the impact on consoles. Roll on next gen!!!!
And the fact that I went with it calling myself a son of a ***** was also in a joking manner. It's the internet, lets just agree that there is just way too much fun to be had with it.SmashLovesTitanQuest said:I should clarify that was said in a more joking manner, although how that could escape you escapes me.Tsaba said:Well, I am a male...
and my mother is a female, but, not a dog...
And yes I am happy when I think of this game...
so in a way I guess I am a happy son of a *****.
actually for me it was more like thisScizophrenic Llama said:![]()
The entire video builds up to the single most epic thing at 1:33.
Seriously though, jet combat looks sexy. Glad I put my pre-order down yesterday.
They'll probably do what they did with BF2 and nix the jet combat and make maps smaller. I hate to see it happen to you, but, lets be serious with ourselves, that is the shortcoming of playing on a console.AssassinFisH said:There is a problem for us console owners. With most places I can see this being a problem, but, there are some communities out there that will run servers and have teamspeak available to the public to come on and communicate and that will probably ease the problem. But, yes without these groups most games will descend into chaos and the side that will win will be the side that works together.Irridium said:I'm still wondering how they plan on co-ordinating teams. Since there's no Battlefield commander for whatever stupid reason, most matches will probably devolve into a bunch of players running about randomly without any direction. A commander stops that from happening, and essentially provides order.
I wonder how they'll do that now with no BF commander.
In Rush it might not matter much, since both teams have a set of objectives and it keeps things tight and focuses. But for conquest? Yeah, BC2 showed it's just people running around sporadically. With no direction it's just crap.
