Okay, here's the thing. I don't mind the Transformers movies one bit. However, I can totally see why so many people revile them. I can imagine what it must be like to love something as a kid, and then years later see it get dumbed down into what is essentially a giant explosive advertisement for the U.S military. Before the first Bay-directed movie, I couldn't care less about Transformers. I never cared about it while growing up, ever.

But TMNT? I signed my soul over to that franchise. I do not want to see a scantily-clad April o' Neil who can't act, and I don't want to hear jokes about Krang's wang. Now I'm not going to say this would rape my childhood, because it wouldn't. (I flippin' hate that so-called 'argument') I'm all for seeing the turtles in explosive action scenes, all I want is to see them do it without resorting to racist caricatures, potty humor, and changing the turtle's bandanna's to red, white, and blue. And I really do believe that Michael Bay is capable of doing that.

Why are you all saying this will be the worst thing ever

Bay makes action films. He makes good ACTION films. If you want a film with story and plot go somewhere else but i'm getting tired of everyone who thinks its alright to hate on anything bay does. He's good at what he does. If you don't like it don't pay to see it.

Pretty much

You don't HAVE to watch it.
Really, because when I saw Transformers and Transformers 2 I couldn't stand the action scenes with their shakey cam and inability to let you just see what's going on.

Some people also like actual plot with their action, and as a TMNT fan that's something it has always had.
TMNT having actual story direction? All I can remember from TMNT as a kid was that they made horrible horrible jokes and puns. :p
Ah, well with the re release of the old series on dvd I bought them and they had quite a few two-part episodes and had continuity all throughout, I won't deny the jokes and puns bit. I love them for that, but that's because I'm a pun person.

Then there's the new series, which I also like, and that has some awesome story in it too :)
Yes, now think about it for a second. They have to suppress an entire story into 2 hours. A series doesn't have that problem.

When I heard Michael Bay was doing Transformers I thought "fine, this is what he does, and Transformers was never all that good anyway". Then he managed to disappoint even then. But I LIKED the Ninja Turtles. He's getting closer and closer to going too far... not that there's anything I can do but not buy a ticket. Which I won't.

Anyway, Michael Bay has yet to ruin Street Sharks, so at least I can relax knowing that.
I sent Bay a PM on his forums that he might want to look into street sharks for his next big hit.

I don't mind. The Turtles have never been about developed stories, deep characters or any real quality that makes a "good movie". The Turtles have always been, to me, about bad jokes, bad jokes about ninjas, bad jokes about turtles, and some okay action. Michael Bay makes entertaining films. I LOVED Bad Boys I&II, because they were entertaining. They were stupid, they weren't all that funny, but man were they entertaining as hell to watch. That's what I want out of a Turtles movie, that's what I can expect with Bay. Hell, I don't even not mind:
I'm excited.
basically this

hating micheal bay is basically the group of kids that used to hate stuff just because it was popular or cool,

honestly i didn't mind the films at all that he makes, i go in thinking exactly what ^^ said, its a dumb fun action movie and it succeeds well in being it

a.k.a.....

ninja turtles?
I'm so fucking tired of hearing "You only hate it because it's popular/cool." I hate Michael Bay and the movies he makes because the movies he makes are horrible, shaky cam, stupid movies that replace the idea of plot with special effects. He's only ever made one good movie and that was The Rock.

Yeah, that's one of my main points. My biggest problem with the Transformers over all was how little they were on screen and how some shitty romance story between two of the dumbest characters I have ever seen in what is supposed to be taken seriously was more important.

He cares too much about the shit that doesn't matter so much, if he was to focus on the Turtles, their origin and non shakey cam action. We could have a decent film, I won't hold my breath though.

Ohh goody.I can se the premis for this movie right now...

Most of the movie we will have April O'Neal and Casey Jones through out most of the movie trying to figure out how to stop the Foot Clan. Mean while we will have brief glimpses of the turtles joining the U.S. military. In the final scene that is the big fight you will have the turtles, along with the U.S. military, assulting the Technodrome.

Leonardo will be leading a squadron of J.S.F.

Michelangelo will be infiltrating an underwater base with his Navy Seals team.

Donatello will attacking with his Tank Squadron.

Raphael presumed dead will be infiltrating the Technodrome having faked his own death and joined the Black Opps. He proceeds to to kill every living person in their sleep and gets out shortly before the tactical nuclear strike has been launched on the Technodrome five minutes after Master Splinter has been sworn into the office of President.

And hey, why not cast Megan Fox as April O'Neil?
Dear god no. The last thing I want is Megan Fox trying to act as April O'Neil. Let the franchise die and start creating something new.
I doubt Fox is going to be cast in any Bay movies after comparing the man to Hitler. Yay! An undeserved ego actually did some good for once!

One good film doesn't forgive the rest of his crap. A broken clock can be right twice a day.

Update: Wonderful according to IMDB he might very well be remaking The Birds.

Well, I guess even he can't do worse than the 3 TMNT movies from the 90s. Really, people shouldn't get upset over this. The turtles don't have a rich film (or television, for that matter) history. It's all cheesy fun. Actually, it's extra cheesy with anchovies and goes down well with soda.

Who thought this was a good idea.
He's going to shoehorn the military into the ninja battles, I just know it...

now while if you have reasons to not like them, thats fine, really, but i have met and talked with people and i asked them why they didn't like transformers 2 and none of them could give me anything about why they didn't like it.

now one of your points, as some people i know have mentioned is, i dont mind the camera at all, idk if its me, but i dont mind the fast camera movement at all, it gave a good look at the action (from my opinion) and it did it in a different way than most action movies.

now i also can agree with alot of people that tf2 should have had way more robot stuff and less on sam/megan fox, as that was a completely stupid side plot that ended up being the main plot, i mean the fallen and optimus fight for maybe..1 minutes out of that 2 hour thing?

this might also be from me having low standards for movies, especially action movies.

so while its fine that we dont have the same tastes, just pointing out i have had this discussion many times before and lots of people couldn't give me any reasons as to why they hated it, and i mean they went into full rage mode on the hate part.

Well it looks like we have found a replacement for Uwe Boll!

Ha... ha... haha... hahahahaha.... hahahahahhahahaha.... are you serious? It had an absolutely ridiculous story that made no sensed whatsoever, focused on the stupid and completely boring story of the humans which have always been the least interesting part of Transformers, and even the fight scenes were just a bunch of shaky-cam CGI bull that made it impossible to focus on anything. The acting was atrocious but not even George Clooney could have made anything good out of the terrible script and dialogue. Why was it so important to watch Shia LaBeouf go to college while his mom walked around being "silly"? Why was the whole backstory about his relationship with Megan Fox so important that Mr. Bay decided to base half of the movie on it? I went to go see a Transformers movie and got Michael Bay's CGI Extravaganza in which Megan Fox and Shia LaBeouf make googly eyes at each other and occasionally the Transformers show up.

Are those good reasons?

I didn't say it forgives it, I just meant that he was capable of making one decent film. That means if he tried, he could do so again, but then again I doubt that.

Wow, is there nothing people won't remake these days?

He's a mad man... A MAD MAN!!! Why does Michael Bay keep getting the oppurtunity to ruin so much stuff? Sure TMNT was a good movie but come on, does he really hope lightning will strike again? I guess we'll just have to wait and see if this is another Transformers or another TMNT. I think I'll just cry in the corner a bit and pretend I didn't read this article...
