Someone told me about Bayonetta and I saw this trailer of it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Ad9f7DvbZM

Is it me, or does this look like the combat of devil may cry combined with the fanservice of Lara Croft?
Really like the song. Everything else is utterly lacking in taste.

Tomb raider in its day was a blazing gunplay, switch pulling puzzle extravaganza. And lara's pyramid breasticles were just the icing on the cake.
Bayonetta? dmc rippoff staring sarah palin? nah don't think so sega.

The cash spent on this game would have been much better spent on shenmue 3. Or maybe its just me.

I'm assuming you mean that she could be the new Lara Croft in terms of being a strong heroine, and not in game style, because Bayonetta is in no way similar to Lara Croft games.

Either way, it's a definite no from me. It doesn't seem to be very mainstream, and it looks a bit too Japanese and weird to reach the heights of household familiarity of Tomb Raider.

Also, it panders to stereotypical female portrayal in videogames, which I know could be said for Lara as well, but I don't think people would react in the same way now.

Oh yeah, and I don't think the game looks very good, which is pretty important

Nope, all I see is a Dante like female made up to be a "sexy librarian" joke and killer split-ends for hair.

Somebody should just make a game with a naked chick that has jiggly boobs. Wait, that is a great idea! If only I had the funding and better-than-average persuasion abilities, I'd make this game a reality.

Yeah the fanservice is kinda dumb, but some of the monster designs look pretty cool.

Some people on this thread seem a little bit bigoted against this game.

I would say it looks like DMC the female version, but thats just me. Also its made by sega soo...not holding my breathe for this one.
its made by the guy who made DMC.
Oh, didnt know that. Thank you, now i will definitely pass on this game.
I dont blame you, Devil May Cry is pretty poor.

oh hark at me, i'm edgy and contreverussual.
No, you're just right. DMC was mediocre at best.
And this just looks like DMC for perverts. I mean, what do they have against subtlety? It looks more like a parody of itself than anything else.
What were all the excellent action adventure games in 2001?

I honestly think that for women in awesome combat award should be handed to Rubi from the game WET. She doesn't dance around like some S&M nightmare spouting unbelievably boring attempts at erotic one liners. And she doesn't need skin tight leather that melts away every now and then to be an attractive character xD. Lara Croft has met her match here: http://wet.bethsoft.com/index-1200.htm

Now that I've seen the trailer, I'm actually pretty interested in this game, and it honestly has nothing to do with the fanservice. I really enjoy the Devil May Cry "Stylish Action" thing, and this is just like that, except with more guns (which is good for me; I'll take guns over swords any day.) and less clothing that any sane person would actually acknowledge as clothing.

Hell, maybe it even takes place in the DMC universe. As unoriginal as that would be, it could be interesting to see if the other DMC characters fit into it at all.

Has anyone else noticed that the words "in bed" can be added after pretty much every sentence she says??

I saw a katana. I saw a fucking katana in a game OTHER than Ninja Gaiden or Onimusha. I'm sold already.

GOD FUCKING-
...
Why do I come up with AWESOME ideas, and then six month's later they're made? Seriously!

Also, Bayonetta looks fairly bad. The combat may actually be fun, but the endless crotch shots and fan service with make the game insufferable.
