Bayonetta. New Lara Croft?

I don't have high-hopes for this game at all. Aside from the endless focus on Bayonetta's ability to have all her clothes magically melt off, the writing and dialogue seems atrocious.

'It's the same smell that clung to the...' I don't know, something about the dialogue in this game, the few bits that were, shockingly, not one-liners, just seems very off.

Also, Bayonetta looks fairly bad. The combat may actually be fun, but the endless crotch shots and fan service with make the game insufferable.

My money's on that just being the trailer's camera work, and that it doesn't at all reflect how the in-game camera will perform.

Response for DMC was mostly positive, so they chucked out another one with the same action system, but thought "Fuck it!" and made it even more ridiculous. It's a mindless action game with a bad story that's supposed[/I} to be a mindless action game with a bad story. They're doing it for the lulz. It's not going to be an epic groundbreaking game except possibly for the humor involved.

Sexual innuendo one-liners? Guns on feet? Hair as clothing AND weapons? This is just DMC when the production team was high.

It's a joke game, just enjoy it as such.

If i bought this game, i'd probably have to cry myself to sleep. Someone with rocketslaunchers attached to their legs? theres only one person who can blast the ground with a rocket and not lose his legs. also he's very patriotic and wears a helmet, i'll let you guess who he is.

Exactly the same guy who was behind Okami and the original DMC so this game deserves a fair crack of the whip. Might not be as good but any one who can make a game as good as Okami gets a chance in my book.

I must admit the loosing cloths thing during combos is silly but given the general poor state of women in video games this reaction on the whole seems a little bizarre. I mean at least this game is blatantly admitting she is in it for the sex appeal rather than the normal pretend empowerment nonsense of Laura Croft and co.

Oh, I'm sure. But that doesn't mean there won't be the same overtones in the game, if only slightly less obvious. I've seen the combat montage, and it looks kinda fun. But if I have to withstand the one liner's every time I do something awesome, then it's going to just get annoying.

It's almost exactly like Devil May Cry, also made by the same guy.
As long as you don't let yourself get distracted by the main character's nakedness, it's Devil May Cry, and I have liked Devil May Crys, so I may pick this up.

Although maybe not, the main characters (Dante, Virgil, Nero, Trish etc) were what made the series memorable to me.
