This just in: Homophobic wankers complaining about homosexual people in fiction, also lack grasp of how homosexuality is formed. More at 11.

Don't children get confused by everything. Hense the general...being young...thing.

People.
They do, and they are VERY impressionable! Especially to mimic what they see on TV. Sure, in theory, let's say some brothers were watching this (lets say 4 and 6 years of age). They see this, and then kiss each other on the mouth. Their mom might find it "sweet", but in reality it is a bit creepy. Even a brother kissing his sister is a bit weird, although not quite as akward. But if kids see something, particularly on TV or now the Internet, they will believe it is socially acceptable, and it currently is not publicly alright, just on paper.

Thus some kid see this and gets these ideas in his brain that this is what he wants to do, and then comes up with a born this way theory, when it was just bad parent supervision. Look, I am not trying to say being gay is right or wrong, but I am fairly sure straight people want their kids to go up straight, and gay people want their kids to group gay. Some are tolerant of the other, or claim to be at least, but in the end, kids see something they do it.

Let's take the Beavis and Butthead problem in the 90's. Some kid watched the show and burned his house down, after reportedly idolizing Beavis and his fire-fetish. I don't have all the details handy as it has been many years, but this is the net, I am sure someone will have a link somewhere. But my point is that, had the kid not watched the show, would have still burned the house down? Who knows, but he got the idea to do it that time from the show, so basically if you put something in front of a kid they will soak it up like a sponge. Ever notice how kids have the SAME ideals and beliefs as their parents, even though the kids have NO idea about the world and how it really operates. They take their parents view as their own, like little brainwashed kids at a political protest wearing signs on their shirt they can't even read.

But yeah I am sure some are going to disagree with what I said, and that is fine, I respect your right to disagree. But I am just letting those offended by the offended people know that THIS is why they are upset likely. So, respect their belief to not want to have gay kids.

*Flame shield (thats ironic lol)** - Look I have gay friends, and friends of various races. I don't judge people, but I don't like to see details sometimes. I am sure if I told a gay person about how I romped my GF last night they would be repulsed too. So just keep it in your pants in public so to speak, and to yourself, please!
Ah, that would explain why walk around everywhere with a whip and a fedora - I saw Indiana Jones as a kid.
Yes, and every kid grows up to be an astronaut, fireman, and president. That is called playing and pretending, kissing a dude on the mouth goes WELL beyond playing.
Wait... so you're worried about kids going around kissing other kids on the mouth because they saw it on TV? IMO, no parent should allow their kids to kiss any kid on the mouth - they're too young for that, and it spreads germs. The gender of the other kid in question doesn't really have any bearing.

If you think it will cause kids to grow up to be gay, ask yourself a question: am I a fedora-wearing, womanizing, whip-wielding archaeologist? If not, stop worrying.
Did...Did you just call Indiana Jones a "gay-influence"?
Hey, with that whip, anything is possible xD

*sigh*
I thought we were over all this B.S.
I actually saw the episode in question and literally didn't blink.

I don't know why the BBC even bothers to listen to complaints anymore. I mean they never used to.

Confusing children? THAT'S WHERE YOU STEP IN PARENTS, DO YOUR JOB.

Overreaction over the most pointless junk.
You can'r be serious! You can't expect parents to talk to their children about 'difficult' subjects. It's the government's sole job to make sure that never happens by not letting children see anything that's not normal to them!
Oh silly me, hah. How could I think otherwise?

The way I see it. No reason to be upset, unless they're kissing you when you don't want it.

More than a hundred people? A whole hundred? I reckon if we could get all the supporters of gay representation to write in, we'd be counting millions...
Why are you never on the off topic or gaming forums? You're always on RP but I never see you in these ones.
Heeeeeeeeeeeeey
Real life's a bit much for us writing types, y'know?

Any how, what's up? And since when did you go to showing your actual face on the 'Scapist? I always thought that was meant to be the sign of someone cashing in on their gender for interwebz popularity...

When somebody posts something I either find interesting or don't understand, I click on their profile to see a picture, it helps me build up and image of them. I had a pirate, if other people are like me in building up an image a cartoon pirate doesn't help one bit. I think everyone should use their real face :)

I sometimes go on the RP forums but I never know where to start :(

My honourable colleages Phlakes and A Gent of Villainous Intent are both setting up RPs at the moment, to be found here [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/362.292410-Corruption-of-Newstark-A-Fantasy-Noire-Interest-OOC?page=1] and here [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/362.291154-Blacklight-The-Epic-Original-World-RP-Open#11610054]. As for the photo, I personally like people assuming I'm a face-eating monster (which I arguably am, if you're loose with your definitions and your alcohol). But more than that, it alows me to be whatever my words create, rather than a being judged from an image...

OT: If parents are worried about kiddies becoming gay from watching gays on TV, what the hell are we showing them war films for?

I was confused when I first began to learn maths. Acceptance of the existence of gay relationships (as an equal substitute for heterosexual relationships), like maths, could possibly "confuse children", but both are important to learn at a young age - as they prepares us for real life where we will encounter the need to use maths, and people who are involved in a homosexual relationship.

PEOPLE ARE GAY THIS IS OLD NEWS GET THE f*%# OVER IT eug I don't want my kids growing up being told every other week not to be prejudice to gays just like I was with Black peeps all it does is make people uncomfortable around said groups cause there afraid of being rude when elsewise nobody would think anything of it.

*slow clap for stupidity.*

I must say, its refreshing to know America's not the only homophobic nation. Though really, this just delights me because at my college, there was a British kid who would always scoff at how homophobic some Americans can be, and always said that no one in Britain would ever be that way. Hoping the facebook post knocks him off that high horse he must have rode across the Atlantic on.

Thank's I'll check them out.
And I don't really care if I'm judged from the photo, that's their problem if they judge people on their picture - I don't judge people on picture, it just helps me build an image :)

Call me slow, but I thought this only happened in America.
Wherever religion is prominent and ass holes think their belief should be held by the nation in a theocracy. That is where this ignorance appears.
Yea, but I mostly hear americans complain about things they see in TV and such. Thank god we don't get that here in Denmark. And even if we did, they wouldn't do anything about it, cause we don't censor anything.

Well im guessing that "more than 100" means at least less than 200. So all in all, im pretty proud of my country for not getting up in arms about the whole thing. Im also proud of the BBC for defending their decision to air it.
