The last one gamed herself, so.. yes?

And the other girl I hang around with most, though she is not my girlfriend, plays even more than me, so..

The stereotype that women don't game has to die.

Yep. She also likes playing games too. She's also the only person who has beaten me at Blazblue. Now there's an awesome girlfriend.

EDIT: She doesnt however like me playing Battlefield/Call of Duty because they're all just the same. Kill, capture, die. And repeat.

Everyone I know accepts me as a gamer, husband, kids, friends, strangers in the street........
It would go badly for them if they didn't *sinister face*

My 'better half' understands that I love gaming but doesn't share the love for gaming. She'll 'tut' if I'm having an online match on COD rather than sat watching some dross on TV with her. She did once pick up the control pad for my 360 while I was playing 'Batman Arkham Asylum' on one of the challenge modes and immediately went in to quite a long combo. She seemed to enjoy that but I haven't got her to play on it since.

*ahem* confession time:

1. I'm a girl
2. I'm a WoW player
3. My proudest WoW achievement is that if you armory my character name, I am the only one with that name in the whole game.

The boyfriend and I have it pretty much figured out. He plays League of Legends waiting for the new Warcraft expansions and mostly sticks to consoles. I'm going to monopolize the Xbox when the new Fable comes out, but beyond that, it's all his. It sort of works in an odd way. All till I want to watch movies on the Wii at the same time he's playing the fitness games.

Mine seems to accept it,she even plays some herself, mainly Super Mario Galaxy and Duke Nukem 3D...which I think is a weird combination.I'm currently on a 3year mission to convert her into a heavy gamer.

I was ashamed to admitt to her that I play Pokemon, but she just laughed at the fact that I felt I had to hide it:p.

Yeah she does, I think it becomes a problem when you spend all your time playing games and completely neglect your girlfriend and unless your girlfriend's stupid then I don't think any girl should really have a problem with moderate game playing.

Well... I'm moving in with my girlfriend some time in august, and while she doesn't like me gaming too much, and demanded that I would have to buy another TV to game on, she's okay with it :)

My first serious boyfriend didn't approve of my gaming and proceeded to call me a loser and trying to mock me for it. And would sulk when I beat him/dared to play games when he was around. It was one of the things that contributed to my dumping him and why I tend to only date guys who are at least semi-interested in games now =D

Protip: Send her lots of messages. Girls like that, maybe she will go out with you!

OT: Don't have a girlfriend, but if I did she would better tolerate my gaming. Otherwise there would be...complications.

Tranquilizers and electric foot-chains?

OT: I once knew a girl that wanted to dump her beloved because he spent too much time playing DDO. Her woes were great and my patience running thin while she moaned and bitched at me on MSN. It was particularity annoying because he was a fun player and in my circle of close friends.

So I bought her an account, made a character that matched her personality and taste (she was an avid fantasy fan) and convinced her boyfriend to roll a new character with me, so we could go through the first few missions. He was not allowed to reveal his identity, we were sticking to RP (yes, that was an RP server). Two weeks later she was hooked, which was when we revealed the little surprise.

They are still together last time I checked and playing MMOs together.

My greatest accomplishment so far.

/pats own shoulder

... then I dumped mine, cause he didn't want me to RP anymore. *scratches head*

If I'm being honest, I have to say I don't have a girlfriend... (Stereotypical Gamer I know) But I probably wouldn't go out with a girl if she didn't accept me as a gamer. I never leave that fact out on purpose when I'm talking to a girl.

mine does. shes slamming hot also, she hated games before me but now accepts them due to the fact it keeps me at home with her. whats the lesser of 2 evils? going out with mates. or playing some harmless games at home?

if your girlfriend has a problem with games they need to grow up. its the future.

edit: i also encourage her to play with me by taking my time and not getting frustrated when we play together and give her the most encouragement possible. i also built her a pc for her own (she never had one). so now after 2 years she is a as tech savy as me.
